On Russian market new Renault Sandero Stepway 2 made its debut only in the second half of 2014, and the production of cars was established at AvtoVAZ in Togliatti. The machines for our market have been prepared for use in harsh winter conditions, with many "warm" options and underbody protection.
Exterior
If the model of the first generation was essentially just a modification of the usual Sandero, then the Renault Sandero Stepway of 2017-2018 went much further from the source. Outside, it can be distinguished by the presence of an all-terrain body kit.
Neat trims are available on the front bumper, wheel arches and sills. They are not only a kind of decorative element, but also play a protective role. In addition, the new Renault Sandero Spetway 2 2017 received a more expressive front bumper, in the design of which there is noticeably less chrome, and in its lower part there is a plastic overlay "like metal".

Specifications
Renault Sandero Stepway II is built on the B0 platform, while its dimensions are 4,080, 1,757 and 1,618 mm in length, width and height, respectively. The distance between the axes of the model is 2 589 mm. Depending on the selected configuration, the equipped vehicle weighs from 1,111 to 1,165 kg.

In order to keep up with world manufacturers, Renault designers did not delay with the advent of a new generation. The second generation of Renault cars was presented just two years after the start of sales. The most interesting of the three models is the Renault Sandero Stepway 2014-2015 model year, which will be discussed.
She is interesting in that, despite the great similarity with the Sandero model, appearance its more dynamic and attractive. With its declared body, the Sandero Stepway 2 hatchback looks more like a compact crossover, which cannot be said about the simple version.
Appearance.
Differences from previous generation The new item has enough stepway, both externally and in the cabin. The first thing that is noticeable is the increased Renault brand badge, apparently the designers decided that its predecessor was not particularly noticeable. The radiator grille has received a more complex shape. The shape of the headlights has also been replaced; in combination with the radiator grille, they look fresher and more attractive. Like the first generation Stepway, the bumper is painted in the body color at the top, the skirt is black. The shape of the air intake at the bottom of the skirt has also changed. But they did nothing with the fog lamps, they remained round.
A significant part of the body is covered by a stylish body kit, which is one of the main differences from the Sandero version. In addition to the aesthetic function, the body kit also plays a protective role. We didn’t forget about the roof rails.
Some alterations are also noticeable behind. The roundedness of the rear has been slightly reduced, which gives the car a more crossover look. This is also facilitated by a small spoiler installed at the top, which was not in the first generation.
The form rear lights redone significantly. They removed their complex shape, replacing them with more practical ones. At the same time, the new lanterns look much better. Small brake lights were also added in the lower part of the bumper.
The new Renault Sandero Stepway 2 has slightly increased overall dimensions. Salon equipment.

Available engines and transmissions.
The Sandero Stepway is powered by one of two available engines. The first power unit installed on a car is an 8-valve gasoline unit, the volume of which is not very large, only 1.6 liters. The use of separate injection allows this unit to develop 80 hp. The second engine is also gasoline, but with 16 valves, with a capacity of 102 liters. with.
There is also a turbodiesel with an even smaller volume - 1.5 liters, but with separate Common-Rail injection and with a capacity of 84 hp, but, unfortunately, it is not yet available in Russia.
With gearboxes, everything is completely simple, both power units are equipped with only one gearbox, mechanical, 5-speed.
Significant power available engines cannot boast, but their dignity is not in this, but in economy. Fuel consumption per 100 km of track for these motors is more than democratic. To overcome this distance with mixed cycle movement gasoline unit you need 7.0 liters of gasoline. The diesel installation is even more economical, it requires only 4.5 liters.
With its modest parameters, the power units can accelerate the Stepway to 157 km / h if it is an 8-valve gasoline unit, and 167 km / h if it is 16.

With the suspension, the designers did nothing. This is explained by the fact that the suspension used on the first generation car was so successful that it did not require modifications. We bought our "Bitch" in September 2015. At the time of this writing, we drove 39,000 km on it (for almost two years). The first year there was a "run-in", and the fuel consumption was higher than now (9-10 liters per 100 km versus 7-8 liters now), and the engine seemed noisier.
After a run of 20,000 km, the car became more playful than when it was purchased (I read somewhere that it is on many Stepways). Very quickly I got used to the cruise control (I now use it even in the city), the steering column music control joystick is also convenient (I don’t know why many scold him).
What I liked about the car was the relatively high cross-country ability even on regular rubber Continental (I got stuck only on the clay after the rain - it licked and wound up the clay and clogged the fenders), but I like to ride everywhere - a summer cottage, a river, a forest ...
It was often the fact that the internal steel protection of the internal combustion engine was installed, the muffler was "hidden" in the niche of the bottom. I realized this when I looked at the "belly" of the car from the pit - everything is beautiful, but the "lip" of the bumper (a protective beam, but made of plastic) was a little obshorked.
I immediately drew attention to the complete absence of heat / sound insulation of the car - in winter, after stopping the engine, the interior cools down rather quickly, when driving in winter or summer tires very well heard the rustle of stones and sand on the wheel arches and the clatter of spikes.

Where can I buy?
I took the car in August, managed to leave in autumn, winter off-road. What can I say, for my money, a reliable machine with 20.5 cm under the belly (never got stuck anywhere on bumps, curbs, pits, etc.), a torquey economical Nissan engine (compared to the 86-horsepower turtle that was in my first model).
