Alarm starline twage a9 instruction manual. "Starline A9": keychain programming. Car alarm "Starline A9": instruction manual. The capabilities of this car alarm

How to protect your car from theft? Today, this question worries every motorist, and therefore the range of security systems offered to help him is constantly expanding. What to bet on? For attractive features or for a budget? The Starline A9 alarm saves the owner of the car from making a decision (it successfully combines both the first and the second).

100% protection

The car security system of this model is rightfully considered one of the best. And there is a reason for that: a high degree of protection. This enviable security is due to two points:

  1. Complex original encryption principle... It is he who is at the heart of dynamic code that is reliably protected from interception. Breaking an individual code is almost impossible (but the manufacturer decided to play it safe and enhance the effect with a non-standard solution).
  2. An extraordinary innovative approach... In this model of car alarms, the zoning principle has also been successfully applied. Each separate area is protected (internal combustion engine, parking brake, hood, doors, trunk, windows, ignition lock). And a specific device (switch, sensor, relay) is responsible for this. All information about an attempted burglary or harm is displayed on the alarm key fob. Alarms are triggered when any of the above zones are affected.

The flawless operation of protective functions is also due to the fact that the state of all elements of the system is constantly under control. Failure of one of them is diagnosed by the device itself in a matter of seconds (the car owner learns about the existing problem immediately after their detection). This option (self-diagnosis) completely eliminates any risks (provided that the motorist takes the necessary measures to eliminate them in a timely manner).

Luxury comfort

Another advantage of the starline a9 alarm is its ability to combine business with pleasure. It is replete with options that make life much easier for the owner of the car, and significantly increase the degree of his comfort during operation. vehicle... To such noteworthy features of this model security system can be attributed:

  1. Autostart. Starts the engine at a specific time (setting can be made in three directions: depending on the temperature mode, standby timer, alarm time)
  2. Anti-robbery mode... It works when, after opening the driver's door, confirmation of the owner's indication code is not received, after a predetermined number of meters, the system blocks the engine.
  3. Immobilizer mode... Relevant for those who forget to step by step press the buttons on the key fob, it is activated after 30 seconds of inactivity from the driver's side (it blocks the engine half a minute after the ignition is turned off).
  4. Gsm module starline. Allows you to control the alarm from your mobile device, as well as receive messages about the state of the system on it.
  5. Indication. The alarm key fob can replace both a clock, an alarm clock, and a timer, it will also inform about the engine operating time (such information may also be needed by a motorist).

These are not all the features of this model, the table contains only the most demanded of them.

Energy efficiency also captivates. Situations when the key fob does not respond to the commands of its owner are most often associated with wear and tear of its batteries, in the star line a9 control panel the batteries last for at least 2 months (more often up to six months).

Installation without problems

Car alarms of this make and model are also good because they can be installed independently. This process can be described as complex and simple at the same time. The difficulty lies in the fact that it involves a large amount of work that must be performed in accordance with a strict algorithm of actions, including:

  • location and fixation of system elements(recommendations: it is advisable to fix the central unit under the dashboard, the transceiver module on the windshield, a shock sensor anywhere in the cabin, an LED indicator near the instruments, a temperature sensor on the motor housing, a siren in engine compartment with a horn downward away from very hot parts of the internal combustion engine);
  • connection diagrams(wiring, installation of electrical wiring connections, connecting the circuit responsible for the operation of sound and light equipment, systems with auto start, door activator, locking system, blocking the internal combustion engine, monitoring engine operation according to one of the options: tachometer, voltage on-board network, generator).

The ease of installation of Starline A9 is that the operating instructions included with each sold product of this type give a clear detailed idea of everything related to its installation. In it, you can also find a description of the reasons that can lead to an incorrect unstable work installed security system (errors made during the installation process).

Effortless customization

Without exception, all car owners on which the alarm system of this model is installed are interested in two important questions: how to bind the key fob to the system and how to configure the necessary parameters for each of the modes offered by the manufacturer. To help the car enthusiast detailed instructions concerning the points of interest to him:

  1. Keychain binding. We act step by step:
    • start the car;

    • press buttons 3 and 4 at the same time(relevant for recording additional remote controls).
  2. Parameter programming... We follow the following algorithm of actions:
    • press the service button 6 times with the ignition on(we are waiting for the system response: 6 LED flashes + 6 sound signals);
    • press the button "Valet" several times(before entering a certain function);
    • select the desired value, confirm the action with either a short or long press on buttons 1 and 2 (half a second or 30 seconds);
    • we return to the "start" by pressing the service button;
    • repeat steps for all functions requiring special settings different from the factory parameters;
    • exit programming mode(turn off and turn on the ignition again or wait automatic shutdown accompanied by 5 flashes side lights).

After 10 seconds, the alarm will automatically arm the system. The activation will be confirmed by 1 siren signal, 1 key fob sound signal and 1 size flash. The door locks will close. The key fob display will show icons.

Attention! If one of the door pushbutton switches is faulty, then automatic arming will not occur (see section "Limit switches serviceability").

If the parking brake is not turned on, then after automatic arming, 4 beeps and 4 flashes of dimensions will follow.

Emergency arming without a key fob

To activate the security mode in emergency cases, for example, in case of loss or inoperability of the remote control key fob, you must do the following:

  1. Switch on the ignition without starting the engine.
  2. Press the service button 8 times.
  3. Switch off the ignition. In confirmation, 1 siren signal and 1 flash of dimensions will follow.
  4. Exit the vehicle within 20 seconds and close all doors with the key. First, 1 siren signal will follow, then 1 key fob beep.

20 seconds after the ignition is turned off, regardless of the state of the doors, the system will arm the system. In confirmation, 1 flash of dimensions will follow. The LED indicator will flash to indicate that the vehicle is being guarded.

Attention! If the automatic arming function is programmed, then after the last door is closed, there will be 1 siren signal, then 1 key fob sound, then 1 additional siren signal and 1 size flash.

If the parking brake is not turned on, then after turning on the security mode, 4 beeps and 4 flashes of dimensions will follow.

If the security mode is turned on urgently (without a key fob), then if any of the security sensors is triggered, only warning alarms will first follow - 4 siren signals and 4 flashes of dimensions. Then, if the security mode is not turned off, after 20 seconds it will turn on full cycle anxiety.

Delay in activating sensors after arming (programmable function)

The alarm has the ability to program the delay in activating the sensors after the arming mode is 5,15,30 or 45 seconds.

This delay may be necessary to bypass the door zone during the smooth extinguishing of the car's interior light or to calm down the shock and volume sensors. When the security mode is turned on with the key fob, the engine is blocked instantly. Automatic locking of the locks will occur if they are connected to the alarm.

After the programmed delay time has elapsed, 1 flash of dimensions follows, after which the zones of the limit switches of doors, hood, trunk and sensors are armed. If the door zone is still open at this point, an alarm cycle will follow. When open hood or trunk at the time the delay expires, these zones will be temporarily bypassed from the security circuit. Warning signals about a badly closed hood or trunk follow immediately at the moment of arming.

Self-diagnostics when arming

If, when the security mode is turned on, 4 siren signals and 4 flashes of dimensions appear, this means that the doors, hood, trunk may be poorly closed, one of the button switches for doors, hood, trunk is faulty, or the parking brake is not turned on. The key fob will give 4 short beeps, and the faulty zone will be shown on the display. This zone will be temporarily excluded from the security circuit. The indication of an open door is simultaneously accompanied by the display of an icon

It is necessary to close the doors, hood and trunk, apply the parking brake, and the system will automatically arm this zone. In confirmation, a short beep of the remote control will follow, the display of the faulty zone will go out on the display. In order for the icon to be displayed in the armed mode, it is necessary to disable and re-enable the armed mode with normally closed doors.

If the cause of the button switches malfunction cannot be eliminated on the spot, the system will arm the system bypassing the faulty zone. In case of spontaneous elimination of the malfunction while the armed mode is on, the alarm system will immediately automatically arm this zone.

Disarming with confirmation beeps

To disarm the security mode with confirmation beeps, press button 1 of the remote control ( button 1 must be programmed for arming / disarming).

If no alarm was triggered in the armed mode or only the shock sensor was triggered, then 2 siren signals and 2 flashes of dimensions will confirm the disarming. Automatic unlocking of the doors and turning on the interior light will occur if they are connected to an alarm. The engine lock will be turned off. The LED indicator will turn off.

An icon will appear on the key fob display, and 2 key fob beeps will follow.

Attention! If, when the security mode is turned off, 4 beeps and 4 flashes of dimensions follow, this means that the security sensors were triggered in the security mode. See the point "Self-diagnosis when disarming".

Silent disarming

To disarm the security mode without sound confirmation signals, place the cursor on the icon and press button 2 of the remote control.

2 flashes of dimensions will confirm the disarming. Automatic unlocking of the door locks and turning on the interior light will occur if they are connected to an alarm. The engine lock will be turned off. The LED indicator will turn off.

An icon will appear on the key fob display, followed by 2 short beeps.

Attention! If, when the security mode is turned off, 4 beeps of the key fob and 4 flashes of dimensions follow, this means that the security sensors were triggered in the security mode. See the point "Self-diagnosis when disarming".

Disarming with the engine running

To turn off the security mode while the engine is running, briefly press button 1 of the remote control. 2 siren signals and 2 flashes of dimensions will confirm shutdown. Automatic unlocking of the doors will occur if they are connected to the alarm. The engine continues to run.

The key fob display will show icons followed by 2 short beeps.

Emergency disarming

For emergency shutdown security mode, for example, in case of loss or inoperability of the remote control key fob, it is necessary:

  1. Open the car door, the alarm will turn on alarms.
  2. Switch on the ignition without starting the engine.
  3. Press the service button 4 times within 20 seconds.
  4. Switch off ignition. In confirmation, 2 siren signals and 2 flashes of dimensions will follow, the security mode will be turned off.

Attention! If the automatic arming function has been programmed, then after completing step 4, turn the ignition back on for at least 10 seconds, then turn it off. Otherwise, the system will arm the system again.

Automatic return to security mode in case of accidental shutdown (programmable function)

If within 30 seconds after disarming the car doors were not opened, the alarm will automatically re-arm. This protects against disarming by accidentally pressing the key fob button, as well as in the event that you, disabling the alarm, change your intention to get into the car, and forget to turn on the security mode. The alarm will arm itself.

If the arming mode was disarmed with confirmation beeps, then arming will be confirmed by 1 short beep and 1 flash of dimensions. The key fob display will show icons, and. 1 short beep will follow.

If the security mode was silently turned off, then the re-arming will be confirmed by only 1 flash of dimensions. The key fob display will show icons, and, and 1 short beep will follow.

Automatic locking of the door locks will occur if they are connected to the alarm. The engine will be blocked. The LED indicator will flash to indicate that the vehicle is being guarded.

Self-diagnosis when disarming

If alarm signals appeared in the security mode as a result of the door, hood, trunk zone actuation, ignition on or handbrake off, and the alarms were not interrupted from the remote control, then when the security mode is turned off, 4 beeps and 4 flashes of dimensions will follow. The key fob display will show icons corresponding to the reasons for the alarm.

If the alarm signals were interrupted from the remote control, then when the security mode is turned off, only 2 sound signals and 2 flashes of dimensions will follow. In this case, the indication of the reasons for the alarm will not follow on the key fob display.

Protective functions

Alarms

If any of the security sensors is triggered in the armed mode, this will cause automatic switching on alarm signals: siren sound signals, parking lights flashing and interior light switching on; the engine will be blocked. The key fob will sound alarms, and the display will show the reason for the alarm. When the alarm siren sounds, the icon will flash on the display; while the dimensions are flashing, the vehicle headlights will flash on the display.

Alarms are issued in cycles. The duration of one alarm cycle and the maximum possible number of cycles for different causes of alarm activation are shown in the table.

If, after the end of the alarm cycle, the cause of the alarm was not eliminated (for example, the doors remained open), then the corresponding security zone is temporarily excluded from the security circuit until the cause of the alarm is eliminated (before the doors are closed), but the indication continues on the key fob display.

Cause of alarm Display icon Duration of one alarm cycle Max, number of cycles with constantly triggered sensor Max, number of cycles with periodically triggered sensor
1 level shock sensor 3 signals 6 flashes 8 in a row 8 in a row
2 level shock sensor 20 sec. sound

Note. If there was an interruption of alarms from the key fob, then the counting of the number of alarm cycles with a periodically triggered sensor starts anew.

If the silent protection mode is enabled, then when the alarm is triggered, there will be no audible alarms.

Interrupting alarms

If you want to interrupt alarms without disarming, for example, you checked the operation of the sensors, press button 1 of the remote control. In this case, the alarm will remain in the armed mode.

If at the time of the interruption of the alarm the cause of the alarm has been eliminated, then the sound signals and the indication on the key fob display will stop.

If, at the time of the interruption of the alarm, the cause of the alarm is not eliminated, the corresponding icon will continue to be displayed on the key fob display. The security zone will be temporarily excluded from the security circuit. The icon on the display will go out only after the cause of the operation has been eliminated, and 1 short beep will sound in confirmation.

To interrupt only the keyfob warning signals, press button 3 of the keyfob. In this case, the alarm signals and the indication on the key fob display will continue.

Remote activation of alarms ("panic" function)

To turn on the "panic" mode with the ignition off, press and hold buttons 1 and 2 of the remote control for 3 seconds.

3 siren beeps and 3 size flashes will follow. The key fob will beep.

If the security mode was previously turned off, then when the “panic” mode is turned on, the door locks are locked. After disabling the “panic” mode, the arming mode is automatically activated. In this case, the indication on the key fob display will not follow.

Anti-robbery mode activated by key fob

To enable the anti-robbery mode, move the cursor to the icon using button 3 of the remote control and with the engine running (ignition on) press button 2 of the remote control.

The alarm will first turn on 30-second warning lights, then sound and light alarms and key fob sound signals turn on. The door locks will close and the engine will lock.

The icon will start blinking on the key fob display

Anti-robbery mode activated by a special button

With the engine running, press the dedicated anti-theft mode button. The dimensions will flash for 30 seconds, then 30-second alarms and key fob sound signals will turn on, the engine (starter circuit) will be blocked. The icon will start blinking on the key fob display

To turn off the anti-robbery mode in the first 30 seconds, press and hold the special button until 3 siren signals or a melodic signal from the key fob appear. The light signals will stop.

To turn off the anti-robbery mode after 30 seconds, place the cursor on the icon and, with the ignition off, at intervals of 3-5 seconds, press button 2 of the key fob, then button 1 of the key fob. The alarms stop and the engine is unlocked. The indication on the key fob display will stop.

Immobilizer mode (programmable function)

If the immobilizer mode is programmed, the engine will be automatically blocked 30 seconds after each ignition is turned off, regardless of whether the system was armed or not. In immobilizer mode, the LED indicator is on continuously.

To turn off the immobilizer mode, press button 1 of the remote control. There will be 2 flashes of dimensions and 2 sound signals from the key fob. The LED indicator will turn off.

Note. If the turbo timer function is programmed, the immobilizer mode will not be activated.

Engine blocking

Reliable blocking of the engine is maintained during the entire period of protection. Attempts by the hijackers to start the engine despite the alarms will be futile. Even if the central alarm unit is detected and disconnected from the cable connectors, the engine will remain locked.

Signaling protection against power failure

Any attempt by the hijackers to turn off the security mode by temporarily turning off the power will be unsuccessful. When the power is turned off, for example, the battery terminal is reset, the alarm will remember its state. When the power is restored, the alarm will again be in the same mode (see the table of states below), the key fob will give a melodic sound signal.

If a self-powered siren is connected to the system, then when the battery terminal is disconnected, the siren will sound alarms.

Service functions

Remote shutdown of the shock sensor

The alarm provides the ability to remotely disable / enable the shock sensor by levels an unlimited number of times during one security cycle.

If you need to disable only the preliminary level of the shock sensor, place the cursor on the icon, press button 2 of the key fob once. An additional icon will be displayed on the key fob display, 2 siren signals and a melodic signal from the key fob will sound. The first level of the sensor will be disabled. If it is necessary to turn off both levels of the shock sensor, place the cursor on the icon and press the button 2 of the key fob a second time. The key fob display will show the icon

Automatic control of the central lock from the ignition key (programmable function)

At your request, the function of automatic control of the door locks can be introduced when the ignition is turned on and off. If this function is enabled, the door locks will automatically open when the ignition is turned off.

You can program 3 options for controlling the locks when the ignition is turned on:

  1. locks are not locked;
  2. locked 10 seconds after turning on the ignition;
  3. locked 30 seconds after turning on the ignition.

Attention! If one of the doors is open at the moment the ignition is turned on or after the ignition is turned on for 10 or 30 seconds, then the door locks will not be locked.

Vehicle search mode

To find your car parked in dark time for 24 hours, simultaneously press buttons 1 and 2 of the key fob.

If before this the security mode was turned on or off with sound confirmation signals, 6 siren signals and 6 flashes of dimensions will follow. If the security mode was turned on or off silently, then only 6 flashes of dimensions will follow.

In both cases, a melodic signal from the remote control will sound.

Call from car

To send a call signal from the car to the alarm key fob, press the button located on the body of the transceiver module. 6 flashes of dimensions will follow (2 series of 3 flashes). An icon will appear on the key fob display, and a 20-second audible call signal will turn on. To interrupt the signals and indications on the display, press the button 3 of the key fob.

Turbo timer mode (programmable function)

For turbocharged cars, a special turbo timer mode is provided, which allows you to keep the engine running after turning off the ignition with the key for a certain time necessary for the turbine to stop completely. Thanks to this algorithm, the service life of the turbine plain bearings is preserved.

The duration of the turbo timer is programmable 1, 3 or 6 minutes. If during the operation of the turbo timer mode, accompanied by the lighting of the LED indicator, the security mode is activated with the door locks locked, the system will turn off the ignition and shock sensor inputs during the operation of the turbo timer. The engine will not block. The engine will be stopped automatically, and the ignition and shock sensor zones will be armed only after turning off the turbo timer mode. The LED indicator will start to flash slowly.

Attention.

Limit switches serviceability monitoring

The alarm provides the ability to monitor the health of the limit switches of doors, hood and trunk when the security mode is off. The opening of the doors, hood and trunk with the ignition on should be accompanied by flashes of the LED indicator. If the LED does not light up when they are opened, then the corresponding limit switch is defective.

Monitoring the condition of the car and the temperature in the cabin

Place the cursor on the icon and press button 2 of the key fob. 3 flashes of size will follow. The key fob display will show the temperature in the car and the status of the alarm mode, and a melodic signal will sound.

Note. The temperature displayed on the key fob display may differ from the actual temperature in the passenger compartment, since it depends on the installation location of the transceiver module in the car (for example, when the module is in the sun, the displayed temperature value will be higher than the real one).

Valet service mode

To temporarily disable the anti-theft and security functions of the car alarm, for example, when transferring the car to the station service for maintenance or repair work, it is recommended to turn on the Valet service mode.

Before turning on the Valet mode, make sure that the previously programmed turbo timer and immobilizer modes are turned off. Otherwise, enter the programming mode of functions and parameters of the alarm operation and switch the indicated modes to the off state.

To turn on the service mode, place the cursor on the icon and press button 2 of the key fob. In confirmation, there will be 4 siren signals, 4 flashes of dimensions and a melodic signal from the key fob. A blinking icon will appear on the key fob display. When the Valet mode is on, only the remote control function for locking and unlocking the door locks and control of additional channel No. 1 (trunk unlocking) continue to work.

To turn off the service mode, place the cursor on the icon and press button 2 of the key fob. keychain. In confirmation, 3 siren signals, 3 flashes of dimensions and a melodic signal from the remote control will follow. The icon will go out. If necessary, program the disabled turbo timer and immobilizer modes again.

Control of additional channel No. 1 (remote trunk unlocking)

Channel No. 1 (yellow-black wire) can be activated independently of the state of the system and used to unlock the trunk remotely. If the channel is activated when the security mode is on, the trunk and shock sensor zones are temporarily disabled.

There are two options for activating additional channel # 1:

Option 1- press and hold button 2 of the remote control for 3 seconds.

Option 2- using button 3 of the remote control, place the cursor on the icon and press button 2 of the remote control.

In confirmation, there will be 3 flashes of dimensions and 3 sound signals from the key fob.

When the security mode is off, a blinking image will appear on the key fob display open trunk.

When the security mode is on, flashing images of an open trunk and a disabled shock sensor will appear on the key fob display

A negative impulse of 1 second will appear at the channel output - the trunk will open. If, when the channel is activated, the trunk does not open, then the indication of the open trunk and the disabled shock sensor on the key fob display will not follow.

If at the moment of closing the trunk the alarm is in the armed mode, the zones of the trunk and the shock sensor will be armed again after 5 seconds. In confirmation, 1 siren signal and 1 remote control beep will sound. The flashing icons for the open trunk and the shock sensor will disappear.

Control of additional channel # 2 (programmable function)

Additional channel No. 2 (yellow-red wire) can be activated regardless of the state of the armed mode for 0.8, 10, 30 seconds or until it is turned off by the remote control. The duration of the output signal is programmable when the system is installed (function 4). The channel can be used for remote control of additional vehicle equipment.

The basic instruction attached to the Starline A9 signaling contains all the information about its connection and operation. How to configure, the instructions say too. Tips that are generated from feedback will be listed here. It will also show you how to quickly set up your main key fob to start using any of the options. You can connect an alarm with or without autostart, as well as use or not use blocking. In all cases, there will be several options. By the way, here we are talking about one model - Starline Twage A9, not A9 Dialog.

How to implement autostart

Let's see what is given in the basic instructions attached to the Starline A9 signaling:

Wiring the power connector

The six wires shown above are connected to the terminals of the ignition switch. For example, the "red" cord is connected to the 30th terminal, on which the voltage "+12" remains all the time. And the 15th terminal, which receives potential when the key is turned, must be connected to the "yellow" wire. The last requirement is always respected, even if the installation is performed without autorun.

Power connector wiring

Let's immediately list what all cables are connected to:

  1. Red - lock terminal 30;
  2. Yellow - terminal 15 (ignition);
  3. Blue - the lock terminal, the voltage on which is absent during the operation of the starter, but appears when the key is turned to the ACC mark;
  4. Green - can duplicate yellow or blue wire, and the first option is selected by default;
  5. Black and white - include in the break of the starter cable, connecting the signaling cord to terminal 50;
  6. Black and yellow - starter power supply.

The “blue cord” is usually connected to the “15/2” terminal to supply the second ignition line. If not present, you can supply current to the accessory circuit. It all depends on the standard scheme - the car alarm itself is compatible with any of them.

When autostart is performed, the signaling emulates the behavior of a regular lock. But some lines, such as the power supply of accessories, do not need to be connected. But the starter must receive power in any case:

Wiring the terminals of the ignition lock

If it is known that the owner does not use autostart, connect only one wire - "yellow". Need a turbo timer - add a "red" cord here. In the second case, all connections must withstand a significant current (up to 30 A). In the first variant, this requirement is omitted.

Installation of signal circuits

If everything is done as indicated above, it will not be possible to start the engine by autostart. The car alarm itself must "know" whether the car is parked, and it is also desirable that the engine be monitored. By connecting only the brake limit switch, you can observe the following: the sound of the starter operation appears, and then the engine starts and stalls. The point is that you still need to install the crawler. The three wires that are listed here are in the main connector:

  1. Black and red (3) - crawler control;
  2. Orange-violet (16) - control of the state of the brake pedal or "handbrake";
  3. Gray-black (6) - input for monitoring the engine operation: the cord is connected to the tachometer or to the terminal on which the "+" potential appears when starting.

Note that the third cord does not need to be connected to anything, and then you don't even need to do programming.

In the latter version, the car alarm "monitors" the voltage of the network, controlling the operation of the motor by it. But the instructions say that this method is the most unreliable. It is better not to use control at all during operation, setting option 6 to 3.

Unlike most car alarms, the Starline Twage A9 system recognizes only the presence of a potential "ground", if we talk about the control input of the brake. So, it's better to add a diode to the basic circuit:

Connecting control wires

The resistor dampens the excess voltage, and the capacitor makes the signal symmetrical. These details are not covered in the standard instructions.

Connect the gray-black sheathed cord either to the generator terminal or to the tachometer. By default, the second option is set in the settings - "tachometer".

Of course, the Starline A9 system can be controlled by a crawler. The crawler relay coil is connected as follows:

  1. Black and red cord - minus the power supply of the winding;
  2. Terminal 15 - positive supply voltage.

This option, as the only correct one, is indicated in the basic instructions. Let's say the engine starts up "once" or stalls right after starting. Then try to connect the winding not to the 15th terminal, but to the 30th. The essence of the last sentence is clear: the alarm can turn on the ignition later than necessary. The immobilizer will then not recognize the presence of the key.

Trial run

If the alarm installation is completed, a test start of the engine is carried out. Make sure that:

  1. The gearbox selection loop is cut if the system was installed on a car with a manual gearbox;
  2. The connection of the brake sensor for cars with manual gearbox is made according to the diagram - the wire is connected to the "handbrake" button;
  3. Even for machines with "mechanics", training is carried out, which is then carried out during operation.

The test looks simple: taking the main remote control, press key 1. Pressing duration - 3 seconds.

Main console display

The sound of a running starter will appear, but this is not the main thing! The key fob should display the "smoke" icon.

You can turn off or turn on the motor with the same key. Note that after stopping the engine, the icon should disappear. If the condition is not met, you cannot use autorun. By the way, the system may not work properly if no "training" has been carried out. What is true for one option is tacho sensor control.

Let's see what the preparation procedure looks like:

  1. Activate the "handbrake" without turning off the ignition;
  2. The key is removed (the engine is running);
  3. In 30 seconds, they leave the salon and close the doors;
  4. The motor will stall when half a minute has passed after step 2.

Let one of the conditions be fulfilled: the sound of the running motor changes or the engine stalls before step 3. The situation can be corrected as follows: when programming function 15, assign the value 2 or 4. Then, between steps 1-2, one more action will be added. Taking the key fob, you will need to press button 1 without releasing it until a melodic signal.

Remote control key designations

Note that any of the additional remote controls in this case does not fit.

Each key fob, which does not have a display, is equipped with one key, which allows remote starting. The button is marked with number 2, and you need to press it for half a second.

Temperature sensor connection - errors

If speak about Starline alarm A9, it controls the temperature like this:

  1. If an external sensor is connected, it monitors the engine temperature, and the key fob displays the interior temperature;
  2. Without connecting a sensor, be aware that the car alarm measures the temperature inside its case.

It seems that the option using an external sensor is the most suitable. The connection, in turn, is carried out in parallel with the contacts of the microbutton:

Basic sensor installation diagram

The button closes when the hood is opened.

The above is true for Starline Twage A9 systems, and in general for any optional car alarms. The sensor itself, that is, the resistor is connected to the standard micro-button. But during operation, the effect arises:

  1. When the hood is open, the contacts are closed - everything is correct here;
  2. By closing the hood, you can get a "positive" potential at the signal output, which is unacceptable.

The latter is due to the fact that in the standard circuit, the micro button is connected to the lamp, which, in turn, always receives power. The lamp filament has low resistance, and at the input of the signaling remains "12 Volts". Well, or "almost 12".

There are two solutions to the problem discussed above. If during operation the light under the hood is not used, cut the cord that goes to the lamp:

Modified wiring diagram

But interfering with the standard wiring is wrong. It is better to install an additional micro button. In addition, it is always present in Starline A9 kits.

Obviously, you need to do something according to the instructions. But at the same time, the features characteristic of each car are also taken into account. This rule is used when mounting any alarm. We wish you success.

Adding locks

Again, we present the basic diagram, taken from the instructions:

Installing the Latching Relay

Here, as you can see, one pair of contacts is used - normally closed (NC). Interestingly, another variant (HP) will be set in the processor memory. When setting, assign function 15 to 3. And the circuit will start working.

In the open circuit of the starter, as indicated in the first chapter, include two wires from the power connector. Thus, another blocking is realized: the signaling does not close contacts when the guard is activated. The bad news is that blocking the starter is almost useless. When stolen, the motor is started "from the handle".

Each car alarm can also control normally open contacts. But it is better not to connect the Starline Twage A9 system, as well as other Starline signaling to such relays. Simply, it is not always possible to start the engine. Moreover, we are talking about starting "from the key".

What and how to program

For the system under consideration, a simple settings table is suitable:

Parameters changeable by software

The number of options specific to the Starline Twage A9 model is 16. Seven of them, as we can see, are connected by autorun. To complete the setup, you need any of the remote controls. Values 3 and 4 are set as follows: key 1 or 2 is pressed and held for three seconds. This is true if a master key fob is used.

The additional alarm panel has four separate buttons. They, of course, correspond to values from "1" to "4". Be aware of this.

Here is a commentary on clause 15. Suppose three conditions are met:

  1. The alarm was installed on a car with a manual gearbox;
  2. Everything is connected according to the instructions;
  3. When the key is removed from the lock, the sound of the running motor changes.

If all statements are correct, use the SAFE setting. In any other case, leave the AUTO option. As you can see, everything is simple.

The above advice is important in two cases: if autostart is implemented or if you need a turbo timer. We are talking about a timer built into the signaling. By the way, the latter still needs to be turned on (option 16).

By activating the SAFE item, the owner will have to press the key fob button - otherwise the ignition support will not turn on. Here we talked about the procedure performed during operation.

First - the handbrake, then the button

The important was considered, only one list remained:

  1. After turning on the ignition, the Valet button is pressed 6 times;
  2. The ignition is turned off - a siren sound and 6 indicator flashes will follow;
  3. The Valet button is pressed 1 time, a short siren sound follows, the button is pressed again, etc .;
  4. Having selected the option number at step 3, set a new value, for which any of the key fobs is used;
  5. The car alarm can return to "normal mode": just turn on the ignition or wait 10 seconds.

This is how the Starline Twage A9 system needs to be programmed.

"Learning" and the meaning of its use

Let each of the conditions be satisfied:

  1. The engine is monitored using a tachometer;
  2. Starter running sound when automatic start stops later than the engine starts.

Only if both conditions are met, it makes sense to conduct "training". System
"Learn" to recognize idle speed... You will not need a keychain for learning.

Tachometer signal

These difficulties, in theory, are typical for any car alarm, and not only for Starline brand systems. So be patient.

The following is a sequence that is not in the basic instructions:

  1. The ignition is turned on, the Valet button is pressed 9 times;
  2. Switch off the ignition - the indicator is on constantly;
  3. Start the engine "from the key";
  4. When idle speed is established, press the Valet button 1 time - 1 siren sound will follow;
  5. The indicator should go out - training is complete!

When the alarm is trained correctly, it controls the motor without error. By the way, the connection to the tachometer is recommended. That is, there is no point in “simplifying the task” by switching to generator control.

We use the functions of the key fob

Let's consider a simple operation: how to mute the sound in the remote control itself. Press and hold keys 1-3. The display will show the symbol MUTE, followed by a vibration signal.

OEM speaker inside the remote control

You can return everything as it was by pressing it again.

Now let's turn on the protection without the sound coming from the siren. Here, the cursor method is used: press button 3 twice, and then, pressing the same button, move the cursor over the icons. Having passed to the required label, press the 2 key. This is how the Starline A9 system is controlled.

It is known that not every car alarm is equipped with a built-in timer. From which it follows that the main key fob must be kept near the antennas. But this requirement does not apply to the system considered here. And yet, despite all the "pluses", we warn the reader about the following: the dialogue code is not used in the Starline Twage A9 signaling. Reliability and ease of customization are two important qualities in the Twage family. Need resistance to burglary - go to the Dialog family.

Step by step actions

Approximate sequence for installing components:

  1. Disconnect the terminals from the battery. To do this, use a wrench to loosen the clamp at the battery outlet.
  2. Place the processor unit of the system in a hidden cavity of the vehicle, protected from moisture. Usually the unit is located inside the dashboard, away from the air ducts of the air conditioner. The location is selected in such a way as to exclude the drainage of condensate through the wires inside the connector. The block is fixed to the metal frame of the panel with self-tapping screws or ties through standard attachment points. Installation with double-sided tape is allowed.
  3. Place the antenna assembly on the inner surface windshield at a distance of at least 45-55 mm from the metal body panels. If there is a metallized film on the glass, it is recommended to move the module to a free space. Only then is the maximum range of the transmitter and receiver achieved. When installing the antenna, avoid locations exposed to sunlight. This is due to the presence of a temperature sensor inside the module. An overheated part will give inaccurate information.
  4. Install the temperature sensor on the engine block or head using the standard bracket. The hole is designed for an M6 bolt. The mounting point must ensure good thermal contact, since autostart works according to this data.
  5. Place a siren under the hood. The assembly is installed with the horn down at a point inaccessible from the bottom of the vehicle or through the wheel arch. If the owner uses an autonomous siren, then unhindered access to the cylinder of the deactivator lock should be provided.
  6. Install the shock sensor in the passenger compartment. The place of installation must not obstruct access to the adjustment potentiometers.
  7. Install the indicator diode on dashboard or cladding of the front pillars. It is allowed to paste a part into a hole pre-drilled with a drill.
  8. Think over the installation sites and mount the service and anti-robbery buttons. The location of the devices should provide quick access to them.
  9. Install the limit switches on the doors. The decorative upholstery can be removed with plastic spatulas.
  10. If necessary, install end switches under the hood and boot lid. During installation, a gap of 3 mm or more between the contacts should be ensured (with the covers closed). With a reduced distance, there is a risk of false alarms. The place of installation of the breaker must not be in the area of accumulation of rainwater.
  11. Using a broach, lay the wiring to the main alarm elements. The route must be kept away from the ignition system and other sources of interference.
  12. Connect the wiring harnesses according to the diagrams. Connect the head module last.
  13. Insulate all connections.
  14. Turn on the power supply and program the system in accordance with the recommendations set out in the instructions.

How to set up a keychain

The setup sequence is as follows:

  1. Select the desired function icon by pressing the C button.
  2. Drown and hold the C key for six seconds, during which the buzzer will first beep double and then triple.
  3. Check the operation of the programmed function by pressing the button A. If the owner needs to change the assignment of the key, the rewriting procedure is similar.

Only the first button (A) of the main remote control can be configured. The owner can select and assign options to this key an unlimited number of times. The standard solution is to set the arming / disarming mode.

Button B is not rigidly bound to the execution of any command. It is used to confirm the function selected with the C key. The additional control panel is not programmable.

Clock setting

The procedure looks like this:

  1. Drown button C and hold it until a double signal is given and the hour indicator field on the screen starts flashing.
  2. You can change the value by pressing A (increase) or B (decrease). To accelerate the transfer of the clock, hold the button is used.
  3. Press C and set the minutes in the same way.
  4. Re-use button C, which should be held down until the beep sounds, confirming the exit from the setting. It is possible to automatically exit programming after waiting a few seconds, during which no keys should be pressed.

Storing the alarm clock data is somewhat different from the clock setting:

  1. Drown button C and hold it until a double signal is given.
  2. By pressing C, select the alarm clock shortcut, after that the setting field for the wake-up time will start blinking.
  3. By analogy with the clock, enter the values of the signal activation time.
  4. After that, an additional item on / off the alarm clock will appear in the menu. To activate, press on A, to turn off - on B.

An active alarm clock on the screen of the Starline A9 keychain is displayed by a burning shortcut. When triggered, a melodic signal is given, which is interrupted by pressing C.

Configuring autorun

In order for the owner to use autorun, it is required to set the type of transmission when installing the head unit. There is a connecting loop on the body of the unit, which must be cut (in case mechanical transmission). If an automatic machine is used on the car, then the loop remains closed. The motor type is set when programming the block. For the correct start of the diesel engine, preliminary heating of the spark plugs is required, therefore, a delay in the starter operation is set.

Before you need to fulfill the conditions:

  • turn off the ignition;
  • raise the parking brake lever;
  • close all body elements equipped with alarm switches;
  • set the programmed neutral position of the gearbox lever (only on manual transmission, not required on the machine).

Brief instructions for installing the neutral in the unit memory:

  1. Stop the car at the place of the planned parking, leave the ignition active.
  2. Place the transmission control lever in neutral and then apply the parking brake.
  3. Switch off ignition. With the correct procedure, the engine will continue to run.
  4. The owner has 0.5 minutes to leave the vehicle. After closing the door, you need to activate the security mode according to the standard scheme. The motor will stop instantly or continue to run in the turbo timer mode. If the owner does not arm, the engine will run for 0.5 minutes or until the programmed turbo timer turns off.

The neutral setting procedure is performed before each intended autostart.

Some vehicles have design features that require powertrain support to be activated:

  1. After stopping the car and moving the gearbox lever to neutral, you must press and hold button A on the key fob.
  2. Wait for the triple flash of the side lights and the built-in buzzer to turn on the melody. The icon of the running motor is activated on the screen and the running time is displayed. In the case of a deactivated turbo timer, a text of the form "r00" is switched on.
  3. Turn off the ignition and remove the key from the lock, the power unit should continue to work.
  4. Further steps are identical to the normal neutral setting (described above).

By alarm clock

Before starting the setup, you need to set the clock and alarm value.

The setup procedure is simple:

  1. Select the required icon with the C button and confirm the execution with the B button.
  2. Wait for a single signal by the siren and dimensions, after which the melody will be played. Two shortcuts will become active on the screen, and the diode will start working in a series of two flashes.

The alarm start provides for a one-time warm-up of the power unit at the programmed time.

The start time of the power unit according to the alarm clock and the moment when the alarm itself is turned on does not exactly coincide. The reason is the rounding of minutes to ten when autorun is running.

By timer

The programming is as follows:

  1. Select the required shortcut using the cursor method and confirm the action.
  2. Confirmation will be a single beep of the siren and flash of light signaling lamps.
  3. Immediately after this, the first start and warm-up of the engine will occur. Restarts will be performed 24 hours after the first start time. If at least one start error occurs, the subsequent warming up of the power unit is automatically canceled.

Timer start is the ability to start the power unit at a specific time every day. If the start is unsuccessful, the function is disabled, it must be reactivated.

By temperature

The step-by-step programming looks like this:

  1. By moving the cursor, select the required icon on the key fob screen.
  2. Confirm the function selection by pressing the button. Receive a confirmation signal with a melody, at the same time an external light alarm should be triggered and a short siren beep will sound. The display activates the mode icon and shows the temperature threshold. An additional confirmation will be the indicator diode, which will switch to the operating mode in series of three flashes.

If it is required to deactivate the function, then this is done according to the identical procedure. Confirmation is double sound and light signaling, melody by the key fob buzzer and disabling the shortcut on the screen.

When the engine is started by the temperature value, the alarm uses information from a sensor installed on the engine block or in the engine compartment. The sensor has four adjustment steps in the range from -20 ºС to -5 ºС. Additionally, the operating time of the motor and the number of repeated starts are programmed, which cannot be more than 12 per day. There is also a time limit between starts - at least 1 hour. In this case, the time is recorded from the moment the power unit starts to work, the duration of the warm-up period does not affect the settings.

The owner should remember two rules for using autostart by temperature:

  • numerous starts of the motor lead to the discharge of the battery;
  • if an unsuccessful attempt to start the engine is registered, then the continuation of the cycle is automatically canceled.

How to bind a new keychain to Starline A9?

Step-by-step instruction:

  1. Turn on the ignition of the car, and then press and hold the button to enter the settings.
  2. Release the button after four beeps of the alarm siren.
  3. Take the keychain in your hand and press two buttons at the same time. On the main remote control, the A and B keys are clicked, on the additional - C and D. A short signal given by the siren of the complex will confirm its entry into memory.
  4. Repeat the previous step for all programmable devices. It is important to maintain the time interval between entering the key fobs into memory, which should not exceed five seconds. In case of violation of the requirement, the programming procedure is automatically interrupted. The remote control number in memory is displayed by the number of confirmation beeps.
  5. After writing the last code, exit the setup mode by turning off the ignition. In this case, the external light signaling should work five times.
  6. Check the operation of the remotes.

Entering the key fobs into the memory of the head unit of the system is required in case of purchasing additional consoles. In total, it is possible to bind four communicators; when you try to record the fifth, the first device is deleted from the memory cell. This is due to the clearing of the memory module, so both new and old remotes should be registered.

A video tutorial on linking the remote control to the Starline A9 system is provided by the "Raccoon and Panda" channel.

Signaling advantages

The advantages of the security complex include:

  • the function of automatic start of the power unit;
  • an additional channel that allows you to expand the functionality of the system;
  • built-in temperature sensor inside the car interior;
  • ease of installation and configuration;
  • loud buzzer built into the key fob.

disadvantages

According to the owners, the alarm has drawbacks:

  • there is no possibility to perform repeated starts at programmable time intervals;
  • short range of receivers and transmitters in urban environments;
  • commands are encoded according to an outdated algorithm that is easily intercepted and decrypted;
  • there were cases of acquisition of an alarm with an incorrectly working head unit;
  • weak keychain body, the supporting elements of the buttons are destroyed;
  • possible software crashes.

What is the price?

The approximate cost of Starline A9 signaling is shown in the table.
