Most of the Ford Focus Car Electrical Equipment Circuits are protected by fuses. Powerful current consumers are connected via relays. The fuses and relays are installed in the mounting blocks that are located in the cabin under the instrument panel on the right side and in open space Next to the battery.
The fuse blocks for Ford Focus 2 and 2 restyling are different and respectively for each of them will be given their own photo with the location of the fuses installed in them, their face value and appointment.

2. ... and lower the mounting block down.
3. For the convenience of working with the block, its housing can be pulled out by rearring the housing protrusions in the grooves of supporting brackets.
4. Before replacing a blown fuse, find out the cause of its brave and eliminate it. When finding a fault, browse the tables listed in Table. 10.1 Chains that protect this fuse.
A warning
Do not replace the fuses with jumpers or fuses designed for another current strength, as well as homemade jumpers - it may damage electrical devices and even to a fire.
5. Using a special plastic tweezers, remove the replaceable fuse.
6. So the blurred fuse looks like (the jumper shown in the arrow inside the holder burned and open). To replace the fuse, use the spare fuse of the same nominal (and colors).
7. To access the fuses and the relay of the mounting unit, located in the pump compartment, pull the lever on the back of the block and lift the lid.
On the inside of the cover of the mounting block of the relay and fuses located in the engine compartment, the layout of the relay and fuses are applied. There is also acknowledged tweezers 1 to extract fuses from mounting blocks, next to it are provided with sockets 2 for fastening spare fuses.
8. If you need to replace, remove the fuse (relay), swing it from side to the side.
9. Install the items in the reverse order.

Ford Focus 2 is one of the most popular foreign cars produced in Russia. This car is very reliable and meets all international standards. But, despite this, whether it is too late, the owners of focuses arise with electrical equipment. This is especially true for new owners of used cars. The very first sign of electrical devices is the failure of fuses (PP) or interrupting elements (relays).
Fuses that are used in the Ford Focus 2 car are called "knife", they are flat, medium sized, plug, i.e. consist of two plug contacts with a lunch jumper in a plastic case different colors. From above on the housing, the denomination is knocked down - the power of the current, when the part is exceeded, the part burns out (the jumper melts). The main function is to break the electrical chain to prevent the failure of electrical equipment and possible fire vehicle. For the most powerful consumers, the relay is played by a protective role.
In general, according to the standard, fuses are 17 colors, while shades may differ. For Ford Focus, the following colors apply to the marking of parts of spare parts:
The location of the contact connectors, relays and fuses differs in cars released from 2005 to 2007 (the sequence number of the part begins with 37), and in 2007 and after restyling 2008 until the end of the release of this model in 2010 (the numbering begins with 100).
In the postpartum focus released in the Russian Federation, there are four options for the location of the prevention elements and relays. Versions B, C, D, E (F, J) depend on the configuration of the car. Clarification which model block is made according to the last letters of the serial number. For example, 7M5T-14A073-DG refers to the modification of D.
Location
Under the hood, if you face the engine to the engine, then on the side of the board - PP and relay for the power unit and other components in the subcontrol space (high-flow). In the cabin - fuses and interrupting elements of the mounting unit (low-current) are under gloves. The build body is fastened with two latches with a rotary mechanism. Sheltered the upholstery of the cabin, which holds on two buttons.
Working with fuse block under the hood
- Raise the hood.
- Open the lid. This can be done by pulling the lever on the back of the PP assembly housing. Does not work? We take the middle flat screwdriver and insert it into the lock lock. Slightly tip the screwdriver and the lid is lifted. Remove it.
- FROM inner The covers have a special tweezers fixed in the grooves. They are very convenient to remove the fuses. Using Passatia, you can damage the case, if squeezed too much. Please note that the tweezers are only in the box near the power unit. There, on the lid there are nests for spare fuses and there must be a schematic graphic image of the location of fuses and relays.
- We carry out the circuit and with the help of a tweezer, remove the burned element, after which we insert a new one.
- We test the operation of the electrical appliance and close the box, pre-placing tweezers in the nest.
Working with fuse block in the cabin
The most common problems with electrical equipment:
The air conditioner does not turn on.
- This unit in FordFocus 2 is included only if the temperature ambient not lower than +5. First of all, make sure that there is enough freon in the system. For this corresponds to a special pressure sensor. If the pressure is sufficient, it transmits a signal to the electronic unit Control and interrupting element of the air conditioner compressor coupling switches.
- If, when you turn on the air conditioner to hear the clutch hours, the clutch and the engine does not increase the speed, then it is necessary to make sure that the pulley of the compressor shaft rotates.
- If the pulley is immobile, open the unit near the engine, we look at the location of the F27 fuse (10a) on the lid and check its condition. This PP is responsible for the flow of current on the coupling. We remind you that the labeling and color of the body is different, depending on the year of the Ford Focus 2 and the options for assembling fuses.
- If the replacement of the fuse is not required, then check F35 (10 A), which is responsible for supplying the power on the air conditioner compressor relay.
- If everything is fine here, we specify where and diagnose the compressor relay. Make sure this item can be done only by replacement.
- The last option is to make sure that the hoses and wiring are integrity, especially the wires going to the coupling, there the break occurs most often.
Sound signal (beep)
- Check F20 (15 A) in the assembly under the hood.
- If he is integer, you need to try the beep. To do this, remove the radiator grille and connect to Klasson's 12 V. contacts the easiest way to do from the battery. No sound - replacement.
- If Klaxon functions, then a break in the wiring or you need to clean the contacts of the beep on the steering wheel.
Power supply dashboard
Disappears rear window heating
- Most often breaking the incandescent filament on the glass. Carefully inspect and, if necessary, creep the opening with silver with silver or in extreme cases, replace the threads.
- Check F52 (25a). Location: PP block in the cabin.
- Nick wiring, clean the circuit breaker contacts.
Important! If, when replacing the fuse, it quickly blows up again, you should call the entire power supply circuit of this instrument.
The easiest and most common method of testing fuses is a replacement. Faulty fuses are sometimes visually different from the workers, they can even be nicknamed with a tester.
If the cigarette lighter has stopped working on the Ford Focus of the second generation, most likely, we are to blame themselves. The cigarette lighter socket is often used not by appointment. And the most harmless thing that can stick into it - this is a Chinese charging from mobile phone. At best, she simply closes the contacts to the spin and will work the fuse. At worst - wiring or the phone charging unit itself will light up. We will not be about sad, it is better to understand where the cigarette lighter fuse on dorestayling and restyling Ford Focus 2 is located.
Fuse set. It is better to use such.
On all versions of the Ford Focus of the second generation, the cigarette lighter fuse is located in the salon mounting unit, but its location and functions in removal cars until 2007 and after 2008 differ.
In restying focus, this fuse is responsible not only for the cigarette lighter, but also for the rear 12-volt socket. Consequently, if the cigarette lighter does not work on the resting focus, the rear socket is guaranteed, the fuse has been burned. If only the cigarette lighter, the reason you need to search either in the chain or in the cigarette lighter socket.
Restayl and Dorestayl
In both versions of the second generation of focus, our fuse is located only in the salon mounting unit, but located and numbered according to the scheme in different ways:
- in dorestayling cars he was assigned the number 39, and his nominal has 20a ;
- same 20-ampere fuse In restying machines set at number 109 In the same cabin mounting unit.
Here is the layout of the fuses in the focus of release until 2007:
Dorestayla scheme
And this scheme shows the location of the fuses in the mounting unit of restyling focus:
Replacing the fuse on Ford Focus 2
The cabin mounting unit is right under the glove compartment and to get it to get to lose two minutes. We do this:
- Soak two screws under the front panel in the glove box.
The Americans were gained to fame. It is necessary to hide the mounting block so much.
- The mounting unit is lowered for the maximum possible distance.
Somewhere here our fuses.
- We turn fixators of supporting brackets to the right and left.
- I put forward the mounting unit on yourself.
- We find the fuse of the cigarette lighter and take it out by plastic tweezers.
Everything is clear here, the fuse burned. Only replacement. No bugs.
- We establish a similar fuse with a denomination of 20 A, it must be yellow. Installation of wires, foils, coins, clips and other nonsense instead of a regular fuse with a certain face value are not allowed.
- We collect the mounting block in the reverse order.
But before changing the fuse of the cigarette lighter, it is necessary to deal with the reasons for which it burned. If a powerful device (compressor, refrigerator, vacuum cleaner) was included in the cigarette lighter, with consumption of current on the chain above the nominal, then simply change the fuse and try not to connect powerful devices into the cigarette lighter (it is better to connect them directly to the AKB terminals). If the fuse burned down for incomprehensible reasons, it is necessary to call the chain and find the cause of the closure. Otherwise, the replacement of the fuse will be held daily. Use the cigarette lighter carefully, successful to all travel!
Good day. Today, restyling Ford Focus 2 (2008-2011) was published in the car service. The reason for his visit is a problem with electronics. After connecting the video recorder, which closed, a lot of fuses flew out.
