Limit switches are triggered when unauthorized doors are unlocked and the lever is released parking brake... The impact sensor protects body panels and glass from damage. Additionally, the protection of the circuits and the ignition lock is provided.
  2. The head processor unit has a non-volatile memory that retains the state of the system when the power is turned off.
  3. Built-in anti-robbery mode. It is activated by a button on the key fob or by a separate key included in the delivery set.
  4. Panic mode with the possibility of remote activation.
  5. Additional immobilizer functions and built-in turbo timer.
  6. Automatic start and warm-up of the motor at a distance and according to the set program.
  7. Extension of work is possible power unit using a keychain.

Installation instructions

  1. The installation of the complex is carried out on vehicles equipped with electrical circuit direct current with a voltage of 12 V. The negative pole is connected to the body panels.
  2. All connection work is carried out with the battery terminals disconnected.
  3. Before turning off the power, you need to familiarize yourself with the recommendations of the vehicle manufacturer regarding the airbag system and the standard radio (device can be coded).
  4. Extension of wiring harnesses must be carried out with a conductor made of a similar material with a cross section of at least the original.
  5. It is recommended to solder the wire connection and then protect it with electrical tape or heat shrink tubing.

The further work of not only the signaling, but also the entire electronics of the car depends on the literacy of the layout and the accuracy of the installation.

What do you need?

The minimum installation kit includes:

Step by step actions

Approximate sequence for installing components:

  1. Disconnect the terminals from the battery. To do this, use a wrench to loosen the clamp at the battery outlet.
  2. Place the processor unit of the system in a hidden cavity of the vehicle, protected from moisture. Usually the unit is located inside the dashboard, away from the air ducts of the air conditioner. The location is selected in such a way as to exclude the drainage of condensate through the wires inside the connector. The block is fixed to the metal frame of the panel with self-tapping screws or ties through the standard attachment points. Installation with double-sided tape is allowed.
  3. Place the antenna assembly on the inner surface of the windshield at a distance of at least 45-55 mm from the metal body panels. If there is a metallized film on the glass, it is recommended to move the module to a free place. Only then is the maximum range of the transmitter and receiver achieved. Avoid direct sunlight when installing the antenna. This is due to the presence of a temperature sensor inside the module. An overheated part will give inaccurate information.
  4. Install the temperature sensor on the block or the engine head using the standard bracket. The hole is designed for an M6 bolt. The mounting point must ensure good thermal contact, since autostart works according to this data.
  5. Place a siren under the hood. The assembly is installed with the horn down at a point inaccessible from the bottom of the vehicle or through the wheel arch. If the owner uses an autonomous siren, then unhindered access to the deactivator lock cylinder should be provided.
  6. Install the shock sensor in the passenger compartment. The place of installation must not obstruct access to the adjustment potentiometers.
  7. Install the indicator diode on dashboard or facings of the front pillars. It is allowed to paste a part into a hole pre-drilled with a drill.
  8. Think over the installation sites and mount the service and anti-robbery buttons. The location of the devices should provide quick access to them.
  9. Install the limit switches on the doors. The decorative upholstery can be removed with plastic spatulas.
  10. If necessary, install end switches under the hood and boot lid. During installation, a gap of 3 mm or more between the contacts should be ensured (with the covers closed). With a reduced distance, there is a risk of false alarms. The place of installation of the breaker must not be in the area of accumulation of rainwater.
  11. Using a broach, lay the wiring to the main alarm elements. The route must be kept away from the ignition system and other sources of interference.
  12. Connect the wiring harnesses according to the diagrams. Connect the head module last.
  13. Insulate all connections.
  14. Turn on the power supply and program the system in accordance with the recommendations set out in the instructions.

How to set up a keychain

The setup sequence is as follows:

  1. Select the desired function icon by pressing the C button.
  2. Drown and hold the C key for six seconds, during which the buzzer will first beep double and then triple.
  3. Check the operation of the programmed function by pressing button A. If the owner needs to change the assignment of the key, the rewriting procedure is similar.

Only the first button (A) of the main control panel can be configured. The owner can select and assign options to this key an unlimited number of times. The standard solution is to set the arming / disarming mode.

Button B is not rigidly bound to the execution of any command. It is used to confirm the function selected with the C key. The additional control panel is not programmable.

Clock setting

The procedure is as follows:

  1. Drown button C and hold it until a double signal is given and the hour indicator field on the screen starts flashing.
  2. You can change the value by pressing A (increase) or B (decrease). To speed up the clock, hold the button is used.
  3. Press C and set the minutes in the same way.
  4. Re-use button C, which should be held down until the beep sounds, confirming the exit from the setting. It is possible to automatically exit programming after waiting a few seconds, during which no keys should be pressed.

Storing the alarm clock data is somewhat different from the clock setting:

  1. Drown button C and hold it until a double signal is given.
  2. By pressing C, select the shortcut for the alarm clock, after which the setting field for the wake-up time will start blinking.
  3. By analogy with the clock, enter the values of the signal activation time.
  4. After that, an additional item on / off the alarm clock will appear in the menu. To activate, press on A, to turn off - on B.

An active alarm clock on the screen of the Starline A9 keychain is indicated by a burning shortcut. When triggered, a melodic signal is given, which is interrupted by pressing C.

Configuring autorun

In order for the owner to use autostart, it is required to set the type of transmission when installing the head unit. There is a connecting loop on the body of the unit, which must be cut (in case mechanical transmission). If an automatic machine is used on the car, then the loop remains closed. The motor type is set when programming the block. For the correct start of the diesel engine, preliminary heating of the spark plugs is required, therefore a delay in the starter operation is set.

Before you need to fulfill the conditions:

  • turn off the ignition;
  • raise the parking brake lever;
  • close all body elements equipped with alarm switches;
  • set the programmed neutral position of the gearbox lever (only on manual transmission, not required on the machine).

Brief instructions for installing the neutral in the unit memory:

  1. Stop the car at the place of the planned parking, leave the ignition active.
  2. Place the transmission control lever in neutral and then apply the parking brake.
  3. Switch off ignition. With the correct procedure, the engine will continue to run.
  4. The owner has 0.5 minutes to leave the vehicle. After closing the door, you need to activate the security mode according to the standard scheme. The motor will stop instantly or continue to operate in the turbo timer mode. If the owner does not arm, the engine will run for 0.5 minutes or until the programmed turbo timer turns off.

The neutral setting procedure is performed before each intended autostart.

Some vehicles have design features that require powertrain support to be activated:

  1. After stopping the car and transferring the gearbox lever to neutral, you must press and hold button A on the key fob.
  2. Wait for the triple flash of the side lights and the built-in buzzer to turn on the melody. The icon for the running motor is activated on the screen and the running time is displayed. In the case of a deactivated turbo timer, a text of the form "r00" is switched on.
  3. Turn off the ignition and remove the key from the lock, the power unit should continue to work.
  4. Further steps are identical to the normal neutral setting (described above).

By alarm clock

Before starting the setup, you need to set the clock and alarm value.

The setup procedure is simple:

  1. Select the required icon with the C button and confirm the execution with the B button.
  2. Wait for a single signal by the siren and dimensions, after which the melody will be played. Two shortcuts will become active on the screen, and the diode will start working in a series of two flashes.

The alarm start provides for a one-time warm-up of the power unit at the programmed time.

The starting time of the power unit according to the alarm clock and the moment when the alarm itself is turned on do not exactly coincide. The reason is the rounding of minutes to ten when autorun is running.

By timer

The programming is as follows:

  1. Select the required shortcut using the cursor method and confirm the action.
  2. Confirmation will be a single beep of the siren and flash of light signaling lamps.
  3. Immediately after this, the first start and warm-up of the engine will occur. Restarts will be performed 24 hours after the first start time. If at least one start error occurs, the subsequent warming up of the power unit is automatically canceled.

Timer start is the ability to start the power unit at a specific time every day. If the start is unsuccessful, the function is disabled, it must be reactivated.

By temperature

The step-by-step programming looks like this:

  1. Select the required icon on the key fob screen by moving the cursor.
  2. Confirm the function selection by pressing the button. Receive a confirmation signal with a melody, at the same time an external light alarm should be activated and a short siren beep will sound. The display activates the mode icon and shows the temperature threshold. An additional confirmation will be the indicator diode, which will switch to the operating mode in series of three flashes.

If it is required to deactivate the function, then this is done according to the identical procedure. Confirmation is double sound and light signaling, melody by the key fob buzzer and disabling the shortcut on the screen.

When the engine is started by the temperature value, the alarm uses information from a sensor installed on the engine block or in the engine compartment. The sensor has four adjustment steps in the range from -20 ºС to -5 ºС. Additionally, the operating time of the motor and the number of repeated starts are programmed, which cannot be more than 12 per day. There is also a time limit between starts - at least 1 hour. In this case, the time is recorded from the moment the power unit starts to work, the duration of the warm-up period does not affect the settings.

The owner should remember two rules for using autostart by temperature:

  • multiple starts of the motor lead to a discharge battery;
  • if an unsuccessful attempt to start the engine is registered, then the continuation of the cycle is automatically canceled.

How to bind a new keychain to Starline A9?

Step-by-step instruction:

  1. Turn on the ignition of the car, and then press and hold the button to enter the settings.
  2. Release the button after four beeps of the alarm siren.
  3. Take the key fob in your hand and press two buttons at the same time. On the main remote control, the A and B keys are clicked, on the additional - C and D. A short signal given by the siren of the complex will confirm its entry into memory.
  4. Repeat the previous point for all programmable devices. It is important to maintain the time interval between entering the key fobs into memory, which should not exceed five seconds. In case of violation of the requirement, the programming procedure is automatically interrupted. The remote control number in memory is displayed by the number of confirmation beeps.
  5. After writing the last code, exit the setup mode by turning off the ignition. In this case, the external light signaling should work five times.
  6. Check the operation of the remotes.

Entering the key fobs into the memory of the head unit of the system is required in case of purchasing additional consoles. In total, it is possible to bind four communicators; when you try to record the fifth, the first device is deleted from the memory cell. This is due to the clearing of the memory module, so both new and old remotes should be registered.

A video tutorial on linking the remote control to the Starline A9 system is provided by the "Raccoon and Panda" channel.

Signaling advantages

The advantages of the security complex include:

  • function of automatic start of the power unit;
  • an additional channel that allows you to expand the functionality of the system;
  • built-in temperature sensor inside the car;
  • ease of installation and configuration;
  • loud buzzer built into the key fob.

disadvantages

According to the owners, the alarm has drawbacks:

  • there is no possibility of performing repeated starts at programmable time intervals;
  • short range of transmitters and receivers in urban environments;
  • commands are encoded according to an outdated algorithm that is easily intercepted and decrypted;
  • there were cases of purchase of an alarm with an incorrectly working head unit;
  • weak keychain body, the supporting elements of the buttons are destroyed;
  • possible software crashes.

What is the price?

The approximate cost of Starline A9 signaling is shown in the table.

Video "Programming the Srarline A9 alarm key fob"

An example of setting up the key fob of the Starline A9 security complex is presented in a video from the author Anton AUTO.

To take advantage of the remote engine start functions, it is imperative that you operate your vehicle and this device safely at all times. Keychain starline a9 is fairly easy to program if you follow the instructions below.

How to remotely disable the shock sensor

ATTENTION! Found a completely simple way to reduce fuel consumption! Don't believe me? An auto mechanic with 15 years of experience also did not believe until he tried it. And now he saves 35,000 rubles a year on gasoline!

This option has several levels. You can use it as many times as you need. This will be counted during one guard cycle. To carry out this action, move the cursor to, and make two clicks with the button located on the key fob. After that, you will see this icon, and hear sounds - sirens and melodies of the key fob. This means that the first level of this sensor has been disconnected. To turn off the second, do the same steps again. If you need to re-enable this function, then repeat the manipulations, and the image will disappear. One beep will also sound.

How to operate the central locking from the key fob with the ignition on

If in this position you successively press button 1, you will see how the locks are closed and opened in turn. On the screen of the starline a9 keychain, suitable symbols and will appear. The ignition on sign looks like this.

How to start the engine remotely using a key fob

There are two ways, and both of them do not depend on the state of the armed mode.

The position of the car will be indicated by a sign on display starline a9. Next, you will see - the designation of the running engine. When the warm-up is over, the icon will disappear. There can be only four such attempts.

Autostart of the engine, programmed for every day

You can write these parameters to the same required time... To do this, select and press the button 2. If successful, you will see the image. This will now happen every 24 hours. To disable autorun, repeat the manipulations, and this sign will get there.

How to program temperature autostart

These parameters are needed in order to warm up the engine on cold days. Time and temperature are also set. This can be repeated up to 12 times a day. You need an image. After pressing button 2, you will see a sign. Disconnection is the same.

Autostart by alarm

For this, the starline alarm key fob must have a correctly set time. You need a designation. After pressing button 2, you will see and. Likewise, disable.

Valet service mode

It is necessary in order to be able to temporarily disable the alarm functions, for example, when you give the car to the service station. To do this, select a sign. After pressing button 2, a flashing symbol will appear on the screen. The signals of the siren, key fob and flashes of dimensions will also follow. Shutdown is the same.

Recording keyfob codes

The maximum number of key fobs that can be used for recording into the car alarm memory is four. This should be done with the security mode turned off. The plan is as follows.

  1. Switch on the ignition.
  2. Next, find the Valet service button. Now you need to press and hold it until the siren appears. There are 4 signals in total.
  3. In order to record the main key fob with a screen, you need to simultaneously press buttons 1 and 2. Additional key fobs without screens are recorded by pressing buttons 3 and 4. This action is done with all additional key fobs. The main thing is to observe the interval - no more than 5 seconds.
  4. When finished, turn off the ignition. It will be accompanied by flashes of dimensions in the amount of 5 pieces.

Important! When you need to write new key fobs, overwrite the old ones, as otherwise they will be deleted from the system.

Additional channel No. 1

This is the trunk opening by a remote method. This channel looks like a yellow-black wire. Activation does not depend on the system mode car alarm starline... There are two programming methods.

The correct result is an image

The basic instruction attached to the Starline A9 signaling contains all the information about its connection and operation. How to configure, the instructions say too. Here will be a list of tips that are generated based on the feedback. It will also show you how to quickly set up your main key fob to start using any of the options. You can connect the alarm with or without autostart, as well as use or not use the blocking. In all cases, there will be several options. By the way, here we are talking about one model - Starline Twage A9, not A9 Dialog.

How to implement autostart

Let's see what is given in the basic instructions attached to the Starline A9 signaling:

Wiring the power connector

The six wires shown above are connected to the terminals of the ignition switch. For example, the "red" cord is connected to the 30th terminal, on which the voltage "+12" remains all the time. And the 15th terminal, which receives potential when the key is turned, must be connected to the "yellow" wire. The last requirement is always respected, even if the installation is performed without autorun.

Power connector wiring

Let's immediately list what all cables are connected to:

  1. Red - lock terminal 30;
  2. Yellow - terminal 15 (ignition);
  3. Blue - the lock terminal, the voltage on which is absent during the operation of the starter, but appears when the key is turned to the ACC mark;
  4. Green - can duplicate yellow or blue wire, and the first option is selected by default;
  5. Black and white - include in the break of the starter cable, connecting the signaling cord to terminal 50;
  6. Black and yellow - starter power supply.

The “blue cord” is usually connected to the “15/2” terminal to supply the second ignition line. If not present, you can supply current to the accessory circuit. It all depends on the standard scheme - the car alarm itself is compatible with any of them.

When autostart is performed, the signaling emulates the behavior of a standard lock. But some lines, such as the power supply of accessories, do not need to be connected. But the starter must receive power in any case:

Wiring the terminals of the ignition switch

If it is known that the owner does not use autostart, connect only one wire - "yellow". Need a turbo timer - add a "red" cord here. In the second case, all connections must withstand a significant current (up to 30 A). In the first variant, this requirement is omitted.

Installation of signal circuits

If everything is done as indicated above, it will not be possible to start the engine by autostart. The car alarm itself must "know" whether the car is in the parking lot, and it is also desirable that the engine be monitored. By connecting only the brake limit switch, you can observe the following: the sound of the starter operation appears, and then the engine starts and stalls. The point is that you still need to install the crawler. The three wires that are listed here are in the main connector:

  1. Black and red (3) - crawler control;
  2. Orange-violet (16) - control of the state of the brake pedal or "handbrake";
  3. Gray-black (6) - input for monitoring the operation of the engine: the cord is connected to the tachometer or to the terminal on which the "+" potential appears at start-up.

Note that the third cord does not need to be connected to anything, and then you don't even need to perform programming.

In the latter version, the car alarm "monitors" the voltage of the network, controlling the operation of the motor by it. But the instructions say that this method is the most unreliable. It is better not to use control at all during operation, setting option 6 to 3.

Unlike most car alarms, the Starline Twage A9 system recognizes only the presence of a potential "ground" if we talk about the control input of the brake. So, it's better to add a diode to the basic circuit:

Connecting control wires

The resistor dampens the excess voltage, and the capacitor makes the signal symmetrical. These details are not covered in the standard instructions.

Connect the gray-black sheathed cord either to the generator terminal or to the tachometer. By default, the second option is set in the settings - "tachometer".

Of course, the Starline A9 system can be controlled by a crawler. The crawler relay coil is connected as follows:

  1. Black and red cord - minus the power supply of the winding;
  2. Terminal 15 - positive supply voltage.

This option, as the only correct one, is indicated in the basic instructions. Let's say the motor starts up "once" or stalls right after starting. Then try to connect the winding not to the 15th terminal, but to the 30th. The essence of the last sentence is clear: the alarm can turn on the ignition later than necessary. The immobilizer will then not recognize the presence of the key.

Trial run

If the alarm installation is completed, a test start of the engine is carried out. Make sure that:

  1. The gearbox selection loop is cut if the system was installed on a car with a manual gearbox;
  2. The connection of the brake sensor for cars with manual gearbox is made according to the diagram - the wire is connected to the "handbrake" button;
  3. Even for machines with "mechanics", training is carried out, which is then carried out during operation.

The test looks simple: taking the main remote control, press key 1. Pressing duration - 3 seconds.

Main console display

There will be a sound of a running starter, but this is not the main thing! The key fob should display the "smoke" icon.

You can turn off or turn on the motor with the same key. Note that after stopping the engine, the icon should disappear. If the condition is not met, you cannot use autorun. By the way, the system may not work properly if “training” has not been carried out. What is true for one option is tacho sensor control.

Let's see what the preparation procedure looks like:

  1. Activate the "handbrake" without turning off the ignition;
  2. The key is removed (the engine is running);
  3. They leave the salon and close the doors in 30 seconds;
  4. The motor will stall when half a minute has passed after step 2.

Let one of the conditions be fulfilled: the sound of the running motor changes or the engine stalls before step 3. The situation can be corrected as follows: when programming function 15, assign the value 2 or 4. Then, between steps 1-2, one more action will be added. Taking the key fob, you will need to press button 1 without releasing it until a melodic signal.

Remote control key designations

Note that any of the additional remote controls in in this case does not fit.

Each key fob, which does not have a display, is equipped with one key, which allows remote starting. The button is marked with number 2, and you need to press it for half a second.

Temperature sensor connection - errors

If speak about Starline alarm A9, it controls the temperature like this:

  1. If an external sensor is connected, it monitors the engine temperature, and the key fob displays the interior temperature;
  2. Without connecting a sensor, be aware that the car alarm measures the temperature inside its case.

It seems that the option using an external sensor is the most suitable. The connection, in turn, is carried out in parallel with the contacts of the micro-button:

Basic sensor installation diagram

The button closes when the hood is opened.

The above is true for Starline Twage A9 systems, and in general for any optional car alarms. The sensor itself, that is, the resistor is connected to the standard micro-button. But during operation, the effect arises:

  1. When the hood is open, the contacts are closed - everything is correct here;
  2. By closing the hood, you can get a "positive" potential at the signal output, which is unacceptable.

The latter is due to the fact that in the standard circuit the micro-button is connected to the lamp, which, in turn, always receives power. The lamp filament has low resistance, and "12 Volts" remains at the signal input. Well, or "almost 12".

There are two solutions to the problem discussed above. If during operation the light under the hood is not used, cut the cord that goes to the lamp:

Modified wiring diagram

But interfering with the standard wiring is wrong. Better to install an additional micro button. In addition, it is always present in Starline A9 kits.

Obviously, you need to do something according to the instructions. But at the same time, the features characteristic of each car are also taken into account. This rule is used when mounting any alarm. We wish you success.

Adding locks

Again, we present the basic diagram, taken from the instructions:

Installing the Latching Relay

Here, as you can see, one pair of contacts is used - normally closed (NC). Interestingly, another variant (HP) will be set in the processor memory. When setting, assign function 15 to 3. And the circuit will start working.

In the open circuit of the starter, as indicated in the first chapter, include two wires from the power connector. Thus, another blocking is realized: the signaling does not close contacts when the guard is activated. The bad news is that blocking the starter is almost useless. When stolen, the motor is started "from the handle".

Each car alarm can also control normally open contacts. But it is better not to connect the Starline Twage A9 system, as well as other Starline signaling to such relays. Simply, it is not always possible to start the engine. Moreover, we are talking about starting "from the key".

What and how to program

For the system under consideration, a simple settings table is suitable:

Parameters changeable by software

The number of options specific to the Starline Twage A9 model is 16. Seven of them, as we can see, are connected by autorun. To complete the setup, you need any of the key fobs. Values 3 and 4 are set as follows: key 1 or 2 is pressed and held for three seconds. This is true if a master key fob is used.

The additional alarm panel has four separate buttons. They, of course, correspond to values from "1" to "4". Be aware of this.

Here is a commentary on clause 15. Suppose three conditions are met:

  1. The alarm was installed on a car with a manual gearbox;
  2. Everything is connected according to the instructions;
  3. When the key is removed from the lock, the sound of the running motor changes.

If all statements are correct, use the SAFE setting. In any other case, leave the AUTO option. As you can see, everything is simple.

The above advice is important in two cases: if autostart is being implemented or if you need a turbo timer. This is a timer built into the signaling. By the way, the latter still needs to be turned on (option 16).

By activating the SAFE item, the owner will have to press the key fob button - otherwise the ignition support will not turn on. Here we talked about the procedure performed during operation.

First - the handbrake, then the button

The important was considered, only one list remained:

  1. After turning on the ignition, the Valet button is pressed 6 times;
  2. The ignition is turned off - a siren sound and 6 indicator flashes will follow;
  3. The Valet button is pressed 1 time, a short siren sound follows, the button is pressed again, etc .;
  4. Having selected the option number at step 3, set a new value, for which any of the key fobs is used;
  5. The car alarm can return to "normal mode": just turn on the ignition or wait 10 seconds.

This is how the Starline Twage A9 system needs to be programmed.

"Learning" and the meaning of its use

Let each of the conditions be satisfied:

  1. The engine is monitored using a tachometer;
  2. The sound of a running starter during automatic start stops later than the engine starts.

Only if both conditions are met, it makes sense to conduct "training". System
"Learn" to recognize idle speed... You will not need a keychain for learning.

Tachometer signal

These difficulties, in theory, are typical for any car alarm, and not only for Starline brand systems. So be patient.

The following is a sequence that is not in the basic instructions:

  1. The ignition is turned on, the Valet button is pressed 9 times;
  2. Turn off the ignition - the indicator is on constantly;
  3. Start the engine "from the key";
  4. When idle speed is established, press the Valet button 1 time - 1 siren sound will follow;
  5. The indicator should go out - learning is complete!

When the alarm is trained correctly, it controls the motor without error. By the way, the connection to the tachometer is recommended. That is, there is no point in “simplifying the task” by switching to generator control.

We use the functions of the key fob

Let's consider a simple operation: how to turn off the sound in the remote control itself. Press and hold keys 1-3. The display will show the symbol MUTE, followed by a vibration signal.

OEM speaker inside the remote control

You can return everything as it was by pressing it again.

Now let's turn on the protection without the sound coming from the siren. Here, the cursor method is used: press button 3 twice, and then, pressing the same button, move the cursor over the icons. After moving to the required label, press the 2 key. This is how the Starline A9 system is controlled.

It is known that not every car alarm is equipped with a built-in timer. From which it follows that the main key fob must be kept near the antennas. But this requirement does not apply to the system considered here. And yet, despite all the "pluses", we warn the reader about the following: the dialogue code is not used in the Starline Twage A9 signaling. Reliability and ease of customization are two important qualities in the Twage family. Need resistance to burglary - go to the Dialog family.

How to register a new keychain

The instruction for the Starline A9 alarm includes all the basic points for setting up and installing. Therefore, before operating the anti-theft complex, it is imperative to familiarize yourself with the service manual.

Key features

Security methods and areas protected by the system:

  • the motor of the machine is provided by installing a blocking relay, which prevents unauthorized start-up of the unit;
  • the locks of the hood, luggage compartment and doors are protected from opening, for this, push-button switches are used;
  • lever arm hand brake the machine is protected from shutdown, this is also provided by the limit switch;
  • the presence of a shock regulator allows you to protect wheels, windows and body from illegal movement of the vehicle, as well as impacts;
  • the ignition system is protected against unauthorized activation.

The correct A9 Twage will provide effective protection for several areas of the car at the same time.

To fully protect the vehicle, the alarm system implements the following features:

  1. Dynamic code. The new algorithm by which it was developed helps prevent interception of commands.
  2. The ability to memorize the state when the battery is turned off. When the battery is activated, the alarm will automatically switch to the mode it was before the power was turned off.
  3. Limited number of alarm cycles from controllers.
  4. Ability to interrupt the siren signal without disabling the security mode.

Separately, the protective options that the system has should be highlighted:

  1. Anti-robbery, which allows you to block the engine in the event of a robbery attack on the car. The function is activated by means of a communicator or a special button.
  2. The ability to remotely activate the panic mode, when the siren is triggered when suspicious people approach the car.
  3. Alarms are triggered when the sensitivity regulator is turned on.
  4. Immobilizer that allows you to activate the blocking of the car's motor.
  5. Turbo timer.
  6. The system notifies the car owner about all events that occur with the signaling by sending a message to the main communicator.
  7. In case of unauthorized removal of the anti-theft installation, the power unit is blocked.

One of the main features of the signaling of this model is the ability to remotely start the engine of the machine. Moreover, the start can be carried out both by command and by timer. It is allowed to set this option in accordance with the air temperature or the voltage in the vehicle's on-board network. To disable the function, special combinations are used, which are described in detail in the service manual.

User Aleksey Muravyov spoke about the problem in the operation of the two-way communication function in his video.

Advantages and disadvantages

The advantages that A9 signaling consumers highlight:

  1. Value for money. All elements of the anti-theft complex are made in robust cases, which eliminates the likelihood of their physical damage.
  2. The presence of a temperature controller in the cabin. This allows the consumer to find out about the temperature level in the car using a key fob equipped with a screen.
  3. Availability of additional channels. Thanks to them, the user has the opportunity to install and configure auxiliary equipment. For example, power window or sunroof door closers.
  4. Detailed guidance on installing and configuring the system. With its help, the consumer has the opportunity to independently install the security complex and adjust the main parameters.
  5. The presence of the display. Using the screen on the communicator simplifies the procedure for setting up and operating the security complex.

Cons specific to this model:

  1. The timer option is not working correctly. Because of this, consumers may have difficulty starting the car's motor after a certain period of time.
  2. Low range of the communicator when operating in urban environments. This disadvantage is especially evident in large cities. The range of the pager is affected by interference from power plants and other equipment, which is more than enough in megacities. Despite the manufacturer's statements, the communication channel is not reliably protected from external factors.
  3. Some consumers point out such a disadvantage as the lack of dialog code. Old models of security complexes do not have this function, as a result of which they can be easily hacked with a code grabber. According to the manufacturer, it is almost impossible to do this, but in fact the alarm system is susceptible to hacking.
  4. Loss of keys on the keychain after several years of operation. Over time, the buttons begin to jam, resulting in inconvenience when arming and disabling protection.

How to install?

Having studied the Starline A9 instructions, you can install the anti-theft complex yourself. But for this you need to deal with the card that comes with the kit.

If errors are made during the installation of Starline A9 and during the connection, the security system will not work correctly, it can be disconnected arbitrarily, which will reduce the safety of the car.

Connection diagram

General connection diagram of the Starline A9 alarm system.

Step-by-step instruction

Anti-theft system installation guide:

  1. The procedure is to disconnect the terminals from the battery. To do this, use a wrench to loosen the clamp at the battery outlet.
  2. The installation of the microprocessor module, in which the board is located, is carried out in a hidden place; it is best to place it under the control panel. This will ensure that the cables are connected to a minimum length. To prevent moisture from getting inside the microprocessor module, it is recommended to install it with the connector down. It is necessary to properly fix the unit on a flat surface to eliminate the negative effects of vibrations. You need to fix the device using self-tapping screws or double-sided tape.
  3. The antenna unit is installed inside the passenger compartment on the surface of the windshield. It must be placed so that the distance from the device to the metal on the body is at least 5 cm. This will prevent the negative impact of interference that affects the communicator's range.
  4. Before installing the antenna, the windshield surface must be cleaned and degreased. Since the temperature controller is located inside the device, it is not recommended to place the adapter near a stove or other heat sources. It is advisable not to be exposed to the sun's rays. Otherwise, the readings given by the temperature sensor will differ from the actual ones.
  5. The external controller is installed on the power unit under the hood. Its fixation is carried out on the cylinder block housing under one of the existing M6 screws. It is important to ensure high-quality contact of the temperature sensor with the internal combustion engine housing.
  6. The siren is installed in the engine compartment. Its location should be away from sources of moisture and heat. The device is placed with the horn downwards so that no water will collect in it. During installation, make sure that from under the bottom there is no access to the siren, as well as the conductors through which it is connected.
  7. The shock regulator is installed in the passenger compartment. It is recommended to place it in the central part of the body so that it can effectively determine the impact on the car from any side. During installation, it is necessary to provide unhindered access to the control elements of the controller.
  8. The diode indicator is fixed in a conspicuous place on the control panel. The cables are routed under the dashboard.
  9. The service key Jack is mounted in a hidden place. The same principle should be followed when installing the anti-robbery button. But the consumer should have direct access to these elements when needed.
  10. Pushbutton switches are installed on the tailgate and under the bonnet. They must be installed so that when the locks are closed, there is no access to the devices. After installation, diagnostics of their correct functioning is carried out. If mistakes are made during the installation of limit switches, this will lead to false alarms.
  11. Under the cladding plastic of the passenger compartment, in particular, under the sills, all wires are laid. The cables must go from the signaling elements to the microprocessor module and be connected in accordance with the diagram.

User VAVAN 176 demonstrated the procedure for remotely turning on the car motor using a remote control.

The start of the power unit can be performed daily at a certain time. This option is especially useful in the morning, as it allows the driver to get into an already warmed-up car. To activate the function, move the cursor on the communicator display to the icon with the inscription "Start". Then the second pager key is clicked.

If the function is configured, the siren will play a signal, the communicator will do the same, the side lights of the car will blink once. A check mark will appear on the pager screen. The status diode lamp will blink in a series of two flashes.

It is possible to adjust the basic parameters in accordance with the temperature regime; for this, a sensor installed on the engine is used.

It is allowed to start the internal combustion engine at:

  • -5 degrees;
  • -10 degrees;
  • -15 degrees;
  • -20 degrees.

The duration of the internal combustion engine warm-up, as well as the start function, are subject to adjustment. The largest number of automatic motor starts in accordance with the temperature in one day is 12, the interval between attempts will be 1 hour.

To activate the function, it is necessary on the communicator display to move the cursor to the symbol with the inscription "Start" and the key icon. Then the second pager key is clicked. The siren will emit one beep, the side lights of the car will blink once. The communicator itself should work, an indicator with a key icon will appear on its screen, as well as the temperature value at which the start will occur. The status diode lamp will blink in a series of three flashes.

User Nyur Gun has shown what a problem the consumer can face when setting up the auto-start option.

How to bind a new keychain to Starline A9?

The alarm allows you to drive in the memory of up to four communicators. Each new keychain enters information about itself into the microprocessor module. But at the same time, the data on the rest of the communicators are deleted from it. Therefore, if you need to reflash one pager, you will have to re-enter information about other devices in the memory.

The procedure is performed when the protection mode is disabled:

  1. The ignition is activated.
  2. Service key Jack is clicked and held until the siren emits four beeps.
  3. To enter information about the communicator into memory, you must simultaneously click on the first and second keys. If a spare pager without a display is programmed, then buttons numbered 3 and 4 are pressed. One sound signal of the siren will inform about the successful entry of information about the remote control into the memory of the microprocessor module.
  4. The previous point is repeated for all communicators. The time between recording of each subsequent device must be no more than five seconds, otherwise the security system will leave the binding mode.
  5. Then the ignition is turned off. The side lights on the machine should flash five times.

Communicator Pairing Guide Video

User Anton Auto showed in detail how to program the new Starline A9 pager using the example of a Nissan Primera car.

First of all, you need to familiarize yourself with the package contents of the Twage A9 delivery. This includes the following elements.

  1. Control processor, central. It fits in a plastic case.
  2. A device for transmitting and receiving a signal. It has a sensor for measuring the temperature inside the car, and also has a built-in antenna.
  3. The basic control key fob is needed for two-way communication. He has a display, the device is technically complex.
  4. Auxiliary keychain. It is not as functional, it provides one-way communication. Its radius of action is significantly less.
  5. The impact will be detected by a sensor that has two levels of sensitivity.
  6. The temperature in the engine compartment is also recorded by an additional sensor.
  7. Complete with wiring, there is a setting key.
  8. You can visually determine the general state of the system thanks to the indicator.
  9. Supplied complete with wiring harnesses.
  10. There is a limit switch on the hood of the car.

Specifications

Let's designate the key technical characteristics:

  1. The basic control panel has a maximum range of 600 meters.
  2. The operating frequency of the keyfobs is 434 MHz.
  3. The main unit operates at temperatures from -40 to +85 ° C.
  4. The additional remote control works normally within a radius of 15 meters.
  5. The pager in the base unit can receive a signal at a distance of 1200 meters.
  6. The supply voltage is in the range of 9 - 18 V.

It is important to understand that the range of the pager, remotes can be reduced. Here, a number of negative factors exert their influence: these are interference and building density, weather conditions and the antenna installation area in the car, battery charge and the relative position of the transmitter with the receiver.

Key features

When the Starline alarm system with autostart is operated, the instruction is necessary for the correct operation of the system. Car alarms provide protection of the car from theft, and also allows you to monitor several zones at the same time. The hand brake lever is also protected against disengagement.

The system has several levels of protection.

  1. The code signal used in the control circuit is dynamic. The code changes constantly, so it is impossible to pick it up, there is reliable protection against interception.
  2. You can turn off the siren and leave the security.
  3. If the power supply is cut off, the system will remember the state by itself.

There is also a wide additional functionality, described in detail in the instructions.

Additional functions

You can also use, program additional functions. Car enthusiasts use:

  • setting the clock,
  • remote start of the motor,
  • alarm.

The most popular is the remote motor start function.

Description of alarm key fob

Standard keyfobs are required for system control, programming and monitoring. The main key fob provides a vibration, sound signal. They are used for informing and configuring.

Key fobs have replaceable batteries. In the additional one it is a lithium cell, but basically - the usual AAA battery.

The instructions specifically state that water must not enter the devices. If the keychain is still wet, it must be disassembled and dried.

On the main key fob, you can use three buttons. We numbered them in order. Used as short pressing, less than a second, and long - 3 and 6 seconds.

Basic keyfob buttons

Let's consider the functions of the buttons on the basic key fob. For example, many are interested in how to enable autostart on Starline alarms. Let's find out.

First button:

  • the system is turned on with a short press;
  • when the engine is running, the guard is turned on with a long press;
  • the engine can be turned off or on in the mode automatic start by using a long press;
  • if you press for a long time, in series with button 2, then panic mode is activated;
  • a short press, in turn with a short press of button 2, starts the search for the machine.

The second button is needed to open the lock on the trunk (long press). It also confirms the command that was selected by the cursor. Here you need a short press.

Button 3 also has many functions:

  • by short pressing, move the cursor on the display;
  • you can turn off the keyfob alarm message by short pressing;
  • the function of button 1 is also specified with a long press;
  • you can set up various functions of the key fob with a long press, while you need to monitor the display;
  • a timer is set, with a short press, in turn with a short press on button 2;
  • the button also configures the notification system (consecutive presses with button 1, short).

Additional keyfob buttons

There is also an additional keychain. It is equipped with four buttons with fairly wide functionality. Apply short and long presses.

The first button of the additional remote control is used in the following cases:

  • control of an additional third channel (long press);
  • turning off or turning on the security mode (short);
  • control of the operation of the sensor that detects the impact (short press, together with a short press on button 3);
  • you can activate the panic mode (briefly, together with button 2);
  • the service mode is also activated (press briefly, simultaneously with button 4).

Using button 2 on the additional key fob, perform the following actions:

  • you can increase the running time of the motor with a long press;
  • with a short press, turn off and turn on the engine;
  • the daily automatic start mode is activated by briefly pressing together with button 4;
  • you can turn on autostart by temperature (short press, sequential with button 3);
  • the security system is also turned on when the engine is running (long press).

The fourth and third buttons are also effective:

  • the trunk lock opens by button 3, when pressed for a long time;
  • the car can be found in the parking lot by briefly pressing button 3;
  • anti-robbery mode is activated by simultaneous short pressing of buttons 4 and 3;
  • you can write parameters during programming by long pressing buttons 4 and 3 in turn;
  • the system is also silently turned off and on by shortly pressing button 4.

There are a lot of options, while the system is easily programmed using both key fobs.

Alarm installation Starline A9

Now a high-quality installation of Starline car alarms is guaranteed by official dealers... They will definitely do everything competently, perform all the necessary settings, and, if necessary, give comprehensive consultations, answer questions regarding the operation of the system.

Of course, you can set an alarm in the service. But questions often arise there. Then the car enthusiasts have to come back and ask to finish the work. There is another option - to independently install the alarm on Personal car... It is not so difficult if there is a step-by-step instruction, as well as special Starline installation maps.

Self-installation: step by step instructions

Let's take a closer look at the alarm setting algorithm.

  1. The base module is installed first. Its place is on the dashboard, in the recess. It is important to make sure there are no water leaks. It is important to secure the block well with plastic ties or self-tapping screws so that it does not move due to vibration.
  2. The engine compartment sensor is box-mounted or attached to the engine.
  3. Antenna with a temperature sensor, with a block, is fixed on windshield... In this case, the minimum distance from the body panel must be 50 mm.
  4. In the cabin, the shock sensor is rigidly attached. It must be in the access area to be configured.
  5. They put a siren under the hood. It must be protected from overheating, from getting wet. The siren is purchased separately. Model S.20.3 will do.
  6. It is necessary to take care of the reliable contact of the additional limit switches in order to avoid false alarms.
  7. The diode is installed on the dashboard, in plain sight.
  8. An additional button to activate the system when attempting to robbery, theft, as well as the Valet button are placed hidden, but in the owner's access zone.
  9. Interference can be caused by the ignition system. Therefore, all wires should be routed away from it.

Any twists in the wiring are necessarily well insulated.

Operation of the Starline A9 alarm system

For maximum convenience when using the system, it is advisable to always have both key fobs with you. They should not be exposed to moisture, do not drop or hit them. It is also important to change the batteries in time, because when the charge decreases, the key fobs begin to work worse, they have a shorter range.

Programming functions

When the system is already connected to the vehicle's on-board network, it is important to do the settings. Remember the step-by-step algorithm:

  1. The ignition is activated first. You must press the Valet key six times in a row.
  2. Then the ignition is turned off. The siren will sound six times, the dashboard diode will flash six times. This means that the system is already ready for programming.
  3. We select each function with the Valet key. The number of clicks is the function number. Each press will be confirmed by a diode and a siren.
  4. Within 10 seconds, you need to press keys 1 or 2 on the key fob.
  5. When one function is recorded, you can move to the next option by pressing the service key.
  6. If all options are written down, you need to exit the setup mode. You can wait. After a few seconds of inactivity, the system will end programming by itself. Five flashes of the alarm - exit confirmation.

When something goes wrong, you can reset the settings. Just hit Valet 10 times.

Keyfob key combinations

We have already covered most of the key combinations when studying the features of key fobs. But there are some combinations that are especially commonly used. Let's dwell on them.
