What kind of oil is poured into the dispenser duster 2.0. Checking the level and adding oil to the rear gearbox of a Renault Duster. And you have to tinker with the distributor

Is not the first mass-produced crossover, but its predecessor, the compact SUV Renault Koleos, went unnoticed. Largely due to the oversaturation of the European market with cars off-road... To remedy the situation, the French decided to start producing a cheaper, but no less reliable car... And they succeeded - Renault Duster, assembled at the Romanian plant, turned out to be more in demand. Its production started in 2010, and a year later the production of the model was launched at the Moscow enterprise Avtoframos. Popular crossover domestic assembly is largely due not only to the relatively low cost, but also to the ability to perform minor repairs and maintenance of the car with your own hands. In particular, an operation like the reducer rear axle Renault Duster does not require a specialized instrument and high professionalism of the performers.

The procedure for changing the oil in the gearbox and distributor Renault Duster.

Replacement frequency

According to the data given in the manual, transmission fluid in the rear axle gearbox and transfer case does not need to be replaced throughout the entire life of the vehicle. However, even a layman understands that this is nothing more than marketing ploy... Indeed, even in European countries, where the quality of highways is incomparable with our roads, this operation is performed quite often due to the most different reasons... In domestic conditions, it is recommended to change the oil in the gearbox and Renault Duster distributor every 75 thousand kilometers, especially with an aggressive driving style and harsh vehicle operating conditions.

Which oil to choose

The manufacturer pours into the transfer case at the factory and rear gear Renault Duster mineral 80W90, corresponding to the API GL-5 specification (pour point - minus 27 degrees). Since such a temperature range is clearly not enough in a large part of the territory of our country, it should be replaced with the Syn Fe 75W90 semi-synthetic transmission fluid from the same manufacturer, which can work normally at temperatures down to minus 50 degrees. Filling volume the rear gearbox, according to the manual - 0.55 liters, 0.4 liters are poured into the transfer case. Thus, no matter what permissible oil will be poured into the distributor and Renault Duster gearbox, it is enough to purchase a liter can of fluid (if you do not change the lubricant in the gearbox in parallel).

Checking the oil level

Unfortunately, underfilling of transmission fluid is possible even at the factory. This situation has recently become more common, so regular checking of the oil level in the rear gearbox and transfer case should become a habit for every owner of this crossover. It is not difficult to determine how much oil is in the gearbox and Renault Duster distributor, this operation will take you no more than 10 - 15 minutes, if you provide convenient access at the bottom of the car. It is enough to unscrew the filler hole of each of the units and make sure that the liquid reaches its lower edge. If not, top up until it starts to flow.

Regulations for changing the oil in the razdatka and the Renault Duster gearbox

If, during the next check of the lubricant level, you find that its color is too dark, this may become the basis for replacing the transmission fluid, no matter how many kilometers you have driven since the last replacement. The sequence of actions for a Renault Duster car:

The procedure for Renault Duster is somewhat different:

Since this operation is rarely performed in the absence of transmission fluid leaks, it is likely that you will have to perform it with an interval of two to three years.

There are several signs that the gearbox lubricant needs to be changed. But not all of them allow you to diagnose the need to change the oil in the automatic transmission. According to international standards, the lubricant is changed every 50-60 thousand kilometers along with the filter. And after such a run, car owners turn to the service station, where they are offered to go through the procedure for replacing the lubricating fluid.

At the same time, the services offered are conditionally divided into full and partial replacement. A complete change means the complete removal of used oil, flushing the engine and filling with new one. A simpler process is a partial fluid change. It does not require flushing, the old oil is mixed with the new one, but at the same time the operation of the automatic transmission becomes noticeably smoother. In some cases, it is she who is given preference, since after a complete replacement, problems with the correct operation of the automatic transmission are possible.

The problem can arise from exposure to transmission flushing agents. If a car has traveled more than 100 thousand kilometers on one oil, then deposits will necessarily form inside it, which, when cleaning, can clog the oil channels. As a result, the box can overheat and fail. Therefore, if there is a need for a maximum change, then it is better to make several partial replacements every 300 kilometers. This will not give such efficiency as a complete oil change in the Renault Duster 4x4 transmission, allowing only up to 75% of the old oil to be removed. In manual transmission, unlike automatic box a complete oil change is recommended.

The manufacturer gives a guarantee for the entire life of the automatic transmission when replaced in accordance with the regulations - every 50-60 thousand kilometers. In practice, in most cases, this allows you to increase the resource by 150-200%. For work, it is better to contact a specialized service station, which has the necessary equipment.

To change the lubricant in a mechanical box, you will need a lift or a viewing hole and a simple set of tools:

  1. Filling syringe
  2. Capacity for working off
  3. Tetrahedron
  4. Oil 3 liters.

To change the oil in a Renault Duster 4x4 gearbox, you need to follow a few simple steps:

After carrying out the work, it is necessary to check the box after 70-100 kilometers of run. If there are leaks, fix the problem.

The drain plug gasket has the article number 77 03 062 062. The cost of the part is quite low, therefore, when changing the lubricant, it is better to immediately change it to a new one.

Why there is a need to change

The oil for the transmission of Renault Duster 4x4, like any other, is a complex product consisting of a large number of additives that make it possible to achieve frost resistance, good lubricating characteristics, and so on. But at the same time, under the influence of large loads, overheating and wear of parts occurs. This leads to the separation of the lubricant into fractions and precipitation.

Therefore, for any work, such as changing the oil seal or drive, it is better to make full replacement... This requires 3 liters of 75W-80 viscosity. Renault Duster transmission uses for lubrication different types products. 80W-90 must be used for reducer and dispenser.

Renault Duster is a crossover with compact overall dimensions... The car was developed at the Renault Technology Center, which is located in the French city of Guiancourt. For the first time on the market, this model appeared on December 8, 2009 under the subsidiary brand Dacia. Later, Duster began to be produced under the official Renault brand.

This crossover uses the Nissan B0 platform. The platform has been subjected to some modifications and changes in order to install other bridges and the system all-wheel drive Nissan All Mode 4 × 4-i. It is also worth noting that there are some elements left on the platform that are found in Nissan car Juke.

There are two model options available to the consumer, namely the front-wheel drive version and the all-wheel drive version. In the latter, there is a transmission system that has three different modes of operation, which make it possible to improve certain driving parameters. The inclusion of a certain mode is carried out by means of a special switch. The first mode, also called Auto, implies the automatic connection of the all-wheel drive, the second Lock mode ensures the inclusion of all-wheel drive and the locking of the center coupling, but the last 4x2 mode allows you to leave only front-wheel drive, which has a positive effect on efficiency. The transmission itself can be presented as a five-speed manual, a six-speed manual, or a four-speed automatic. All of the listed gearboxes can be paired with one of the following engines:

  • Diesel engine with a volume of 1.5 liters with a peak power of 90 horsepower.
  • Gasoline engine with a volume of 1.6 liters with a peak power of 102 horsepower.
  • A 2.0 liter petrol engine with a peak power of 135 horsepower.
  • Gasoline engine of 1.6 liters with a peak power of 105 horsepower.
  • Diesel engine with a volume of 1.5 liters with a peak power of 110 horsepower.
  • Gasoline engine with a volume of 1.6 liters with a peak power of 110 horsepower.
  • A 2.0-liter petrol engine with a peak output of 138 horsepower.

Both variants feature a steel crankcase guard as standard.

The Renault Duster trunk is designed for a volume of 475 liters and this is with the seats unfolded. But if the back row seats are folded, then the space luggage compartment increases to 1636 liters, so that rather large loads can be placed in the car. It should also be noted that Renault Duster has quite good driving characteristics. His ground clearance has a value of 210 millimeters, the angle of entry is 30 degrees, and the exit angle is 35 degrees. All this, combined with all-wheel drive, provides this crossover with increased cross-country ability.

During production Renault models The Duster uses over 70 percent of the various components from other vehicles in its design. The first thing that stands out are the doors, as here the front doors are from Renault Sandero. The all-wheel drive system was provided from Nissan.

In all trim levels of this crossover, among the optional equipment, there is a special system ESP stabilization providing understeer control. In addition, there is also an ASR function, which prevents the drive wheels from spinning. Also, in all versions of the safety systems, there are two airbags located in the front of the passenger compartment and three-point belts with pretensioners for the front seats.

How much oil to pour into Renault Duster distributor?

The volume of oil in the distributor is 0.9 liters

The volume of oil in the rear gearbox - 0.9 liters

Information on the types of oil required

1. TOTAL TRANSMISSION SYN FE 75W90 GL4 / GL5

It is fully synthetic transmission oil designed to match the TDL (Total Drive Line) concept. Applied in mechanical boxes gears with and without synchronizers, as well as in axles and transfer cases. Recommended for lubrication systems with filter elements. Among the useful qualities of this gear oil, it should be noted:

  • Quite a high degree of viscosity.
  • Improved resistance to foaming, oxidation and corrosion.
  • Increased resistance to harsh temperature conditions.
  • Increased resistance to high loads.
  • Extended drain intervals.

2. ELF TRANSELF TYPE B 80W-90

This high quality transmission fluid contains EP additives. The oil possesses good antiwear and extreme pressure properties, due to which it has a positive effect on the resource of mechanisms during operation under conditions of increased loads. The presence of a large number of various useful properties prevents corrosive and oxidative processes on steel and copper components of assemblies. Possesses high index viscosity and low temperature stability coupled with thermal stability. Does not harm seal materials.

Changing the oil in the Renault Duster razdatka

Axle oil change

What and how much oil to fill in the bridge and the Duster 4x4 razdatka

According to the manufacturer, the oil in the transfer case and axle cannot be changed and is filled for the entire service life of the vehicle.

But underfilling the oil in the distributor and the axle is a fairly common occurrence on Renault Duster.
V this case it lacked only 2 cm to the level, it's not scary, but to calm it down I had to change it.

Since it is not clear what kind of oil was filled, I had to play it safe and buy a new gear oil Total Syn Fe 75W-90, Renault recommended oil, solidifies at temperatures below 50 degrees.

To change the oil in the razdatka and the Renault Duster bridge, there will be enough 1 liter.
In this report, it took 1 liter and 50-100 grams, this is when filling to the maximum, to the level of the drain holes and taking into account the complete draining and flushing of the rear gearbox and distributor.

  • We start with the rear gearbox
  • You don't have to lift the car, if you lie on the ground, then there is enough space.
  • Unscrew the drain plug (bottom) with a hexagon
  • Drain the oil, the oil will be black enough, this is normal.
  • We twist the plug back, do not forget about the gasket

The oil will not drain, so you can use the vacuum hose to drain the oil completely.

The hose is exactly vacuum, because the walls are not compressed. We insert one end of the hose into the filler hole of the gearbox, resting the hose against the bottom, the other end of the hose to vacuum pump(or we create a vacuum with our lungs), the hose is taken long so that the oil does not get into the pump or swallow it.

You can also flush the gearbox and drain completely flushing fluid in this manner. The oil drains out of the distributor well, you do not need to rinse it.

It is convenient to pour oil into the rear gearbox with the help of such a device.

We push the hose and pour new oil into the filler hole (top), the oil must be poured to the very edge of the hole.

We twist the upper plug on the gearbox and wipe the traces of oil with a rag after replacing

Moving on to the transfer case

We remove the right front wheel(passenger side), you can simply turn it out if it is convenient.

The transfer box is located on the passenger side, right behind the wheel. See the photo below.

We find the filler hole, it is also the control one.

Transfer case oil level is normal.

To access the drain plug, you will have to partially remove the protection by unscrewing the six mounting bolts so that the protection hangs only on the front ones. The drain plug of the transfer case is indicated by an arrow.

The oil drains out of the distributor well, you do not need to rinse it.

We drain the oil, tighten the drain plug. Putting the protection together in the reverse order.

Oil was poured everywhere exactly along the edge of the filler hole (it even poured out a little).

The control and filler hole of the box is located in the same way as the dispensing hole, but on the left side.

In the box, the oil did not change, only the level was checked - almost flush with the edge.

Usually, the rear gearbox does not cause problems for owners of all-wheel drive versions of the Renault Duster car.

A video about changing the oil in the Renault Duster gearbox is below.

It is not necessary to lift the car to change the oil in the rear gearbox. You can just lie on the floor or drive into the viewing hole.

The plug on the gearbox is unscrewed with a hexagon.

The cork is marked with an arrow. Prepare a container for draining immediately

Place a container (one or more liters) under the used oil immediately. When the oil is completely drained, you will notice that it will be black in color. This is in the order of things, since a lot of production products have accumulated in it.

After draining, the O-ring on the drain plug must be replaced in order to avoid oil leakage during further operation.

It should be noted that not all of the oil will drain from the gearbox during the process. Therefore, a vacuum hose must be used to drain it completely. You should rest it with one end on the bottom of the gearbox, and connect the other end to a vacuum pump (you can also create a vacuum with the lungs). The hose must be of sufficient length to prevent oil from entering the pump itself if used. It will also help to avoid getting oil into the mouth when the vacuum is created by the lungs.

You can use a hose like this

Flushing

After draining the oil, rinse the gearbox special liquid, which is sold in the store and is designed specifically for this purpose. This liquid is drained in the same way as oil.

Fill

Using a funnel to top up oil

This is done with a hose. A funnel is connected to one end of it, and the other is inserted into drainer... The oil must be filled up to the edge of the drain hole. Next, the cork is screwed into place, and traces of smudges are wiped off.

Alternative way

A syringe for washing your ears will work too.

An alternative method involves the use of a powerful syringe. These are sold in the pharmacy, their ears are washed.

And you have to tinker with the distributor

After this procedure, you can begin to change the oil in the transfer case.

  1. The front wheel (right) is removed. Also, you can not remove it, but simply turn it all the way to the left.

The wheel was removed, the control points are visible in the figure

  2. Remove partial protection. You will need to unscrew the 6 bolts that hold it in place.

    Oil drain "front"

  3. After draining, tighten the plug by changing the seal on it.
  4. Reinstall the protection.
  5. Fill in new oil through the filler hole. It is necessary to fill in oil up to the level of the hole, when it begins to pour out of it by itself. For this, you can use the same device with which oil was poured into the rear gearbox.
  6. Tighten the filler hole by changing the seal on the plug.

The manufacturer claims that the oil that is poured into the transfer case and rear gearbox during production cannot be replaced throughout the entire service life of the Renault Duster car.

According to experts, this rule applies more to European countries where the quality of roads is good. In domestic operating conditions, the oil in these units has to be changed. There is also an underfilling of oil in the gearbox at the factory. Typically, the underfill level is small and non-critical.

Oil selection

Replacement will require about one liter of oil. It is necessary to pour oil into the gearbox up to the level of the drain plug. Also, when carrying out work after draining the old oil, it is recommended to flush the gearbox.

conclusions

As you can see from the above, you can easily change the oil in the transfer case and rear gearbox on your own. The main thing is to adhere to these recommendations.
