Inspected tires for golf class cars - a large test of SP. Best Inspeted Winter Tire Tires Winter Inspeted Review Tests

Seasons change This process from which is not going anywhere (if you do not live in the equator, of course), and in the next time the car owners are forced to think about changing tires on their iron horse. And if 20 years ago, the selection was small, now the market is simply a breathtaking number of different brands. Aggravates the flour selection of the presence of a large number of models for each manufacturer, which are also divided into separate types (according to the technology of the tire structure).

Of course, there is always an option to simply "score" and ride as it is. However, as practice shows, the difference in the characteristics of winter and summer rubber is really colossal.

Yes, and the laws regulating seasonality of the car tires from year to year are tightened both in Europe and in Russia. Therefore, you should not neglect the need to change rubber.

No matter how cool, but on your own to experience all the available tire models can not have a single simple driver, but no one has long believed to advertise. That is why numerous editions annually conduct their own tests of tires from different manufacturers and models.

Some standards (for example, by analogy with Euroncap) still no one invented, so everyone does it as it seems necessary. We will try to collect all the information together.

In general, the set of tests of different communities is most likely similar and includes testing for braking, controllability and stability on various coatings, as well as the level of noise of rubber.

Expert publications

Teknikens Varld - Swedish magazine, which regularly tests tires over the past 15 years. In order to cover all possible winter road conditions (dry and wet asphalt, ice and snow), the Swedes compared the tires of all three types (studded, unshakable Scandinan and unsuccessful Evrapie tires). As a test bench for "wheels" with dimension 205/55 R16, Seat Leon was taken.

AUTO Zeitung, together with the German technical supervision organizations, the GTU tested the awkward winter tires 205/55 R16 installed on the Volkswagen Golf. Among other things, the experts took into account fuel consumption for each model, which made their own adjustments to the final result.

Finnish Tuulilasi. Compare exceptionally studded winter tires with dimension 205/55 R16 (taking into account the peculiarities of the national climate). Separate scores, "hot guys" were credited for overclocking on an ice surface, the time of entry into a snowy hill, etc. In general, Finnish tests are oriented rather for the terms of the "tan", where in the winter roads are rarely dry and clean.

SEGERMAN car club Adacspent several tests for different types of tires. First, all-season models of 16-inch tires were tested (dimension 205/55). Considering the high culture road services, not every self-respecting Europeans in winter has to leave the road purified from snow and land, and this option may well be a beneficial acquisition within Europe.

The following were testing models of compact dimension 185/65 R15 for the vehicle of the budget segment. As expected. The smaller width (and as a result of the contact spot), negatively affects the rubber chain, why even top models showed not the most outstanding results in rags on Renault Clio.

At the same time, the severity of the tests of the German ADAC did not bring special laurels and expensive tires of a higher segment with a dimension of 225/45 R17. Most subjects were able to achieve only the result "satisfactory", and the winner of the first position was "good".

TestWorld - Another Finnish edition, which has experienced a large set of models delivering them by types: studded and untapped Scandinavian tires. To demonstrate differences in the behavior of the "Suction Cup" of the European type, the Continental ContiWinterContact TS850 model was tested. The main stop tests were made on ice tests, taking into account the specifics of the local climate.

In contrast to European experts, Korean experts were performed, in the Commonwealth with Autoview. and Joongang Libo.. The 17-inch wheels 225/45 were tested on in conditions of ice and snow, on dry and wet roads. And all this despite the fact that even a minus temperature is rarely a rarely in Korea.

Of course, we could not go around the results of Russian tests.

Edition AutoMail. ru Put in front of him the task of testing cheap models of unwanted winter tires with dimension 205/55 R16. Nokian Hakkapeliitta R2 was used as a reference, the price of which is on average twice the tested wheels. Testing included acceleration, braking and stability on the rammed snow and ice, permeability in loose snow, braking and resistance on wet and dry asphalt. As a bonus, the smoothness of the stroke on the scroll asphalt, as well as resistance to side cuts, was tested.

Behind the wheelIn the meantime, the winter rubber segment was experienced the most popular in our country: 15-inch studded tires in the dimension of 195/65 of the lowest price segment. For clarity, both cheap models and branded, and half of the tested tires are produced in our country. At the end of tests, the tests also measured the residual number of spikes, making it out based on this or that model's vitality.

What types of winter tires are?

But we turn closer to the point. To begin with, it is necessary to deal with what the "Velcro" differs from "Robing" and what they happen.

At the moment, 3 types of winter rubber treads are considered the most common: studded, untouched Scandinavian and immaculated Central European Types.

Tires with metal spikes have long been known to all car owners. From a long time, such rubber was used in the rally competitions, and then got to civilian use. Such tires are originally designed for riding in the snow and ice. Due to the "vagrants" into the surface of the ice crust, the studded tires are better coping with braking on slippery surface, but there are also negative consequences. Firstly, such tires are strongly noisy, secondly, on dry pure asphalt, steel needles turn into small "skates", which is becoming more "slippery". Although technology does not stand still, it's not going anywhere. Yes, and the road canvas "Shipovka" spoils much stronger, which is why in many countries riding in the summer on winter tires is subject to fines.

An alternative is the use of frictional unwanted tires. They are divided into two subtypes.

"Velcro" of the Scandinavian type, like "rose" oriented on riding in the snow and ice. They have a very soft rubber and developed protector (often with side lamellas). This allows you to increase the contact stain and, as a result, the clutch with the surface. Such tires can be recommended for the expanses of our immense country where the roads are hidden most of the time.

Well, for megalopolises, exhausted tires of the central European type are more suitable. They are initially created for a softer climate and clean roads. They are worse than the snow and ice, but they feel beautiful on the asphalt. They have a smaller amount of soft elements and better remove water from under the wheels.

You should also not forget about the existence of the "all-season" tires. Such so far from the factory are installed on domestic cars and suggest year-round operation. However, universal in any situation is worse than specialized, especially in the context of the Russian climate with its large temperature drop and road conditions.

Continental WinterContact TS 860 -winterawakenedtires, test

Official information

Tires ContinentalWinterContact TS860 is a second generation of a model with a directional tread pattern for soft European conditions (M + S), clutch-oriented with ice. In the WinterContact TS860 tires, the Continental specialists used a new principle of water removal from the contact spot: non-leads with the help of grooves, and encounter from the contact spot, plus a larger number of lamellae and, as a result, more free space (internal lamella cavities) for snow disposal. This allows the bus effectively to cope with the discharge of moisture and snow porridge.

Test results

Continental WinterContact TS 860 This season came to replace the 850th model, which last years occupied the leading positions on the tests. I did not fail and the update: in Teknikens Varld trials, this tire took the third line of the rating, and Auto Zeitung has defined Continental to the first place in the totality of characteristics.

The main positive qualities of Continental WinterContact TS 860 is an excellent adhesion with asphalt in winter conditions. The tire is little subject to aquaplaning, keeps the course with sharp maneuvers, low enough and has an average rate of efficiency. WinterContact showed one of the best results in braking on dry and wet asphaltBut relatively poorly coped with the holea and loose snow. In general, Continental WinterContact TS 860 is suitable for use in the city and on peeled country tracks.

Goodyear Ultragrip 9.

Official information

Goodyear Ultragrip 9.- Winter tire, has a directional V-shaped tread pattern with aggressive appearance. It is well suited for ride not only on wet roads, but also in a pretty deep snow. Thanks to the 3D-BIS brand technology, this model is characterized by a reduced braking, as well as a good response to all the actions of the driver. A rubber mixture is used to create a tire with a special composition, which includes vegetable oils and special resins. The new rubber mixture has a high degree of elasticity due to which Goodyear Ultragrip 9 bus is effective in a wide range of temperatures.

TEST RESULTS

Friction tires Goodyear Ultragrip 9. Tests immediately in two dimensions: AUTO Zeitung logs tried a 16-inch rubber 205/55, while ADAC experienced a budget option 185/65 R15. In both cases, German experts highly appreciated the characteristics of the model, especially the efficiency of braking and "chain" on loose snow and wet asphalt. In addition, Goodyear UltraGrip 9 has demonstrated high fuel efficiency and noise comfort, but it did not cost without minuses. A soft nothesive tire on dry asphalt behaves quite "Valko", slowly reacting to the turns of the steering wheel, and the tendency to insufficient turning is noticeable.

Michelin Crossclimate.- Winter nothesive tires, test

Official information

Summer tire, which can be used in conditions of suddenly dropped snow. A pronounced directional pattern of a tread with deep drainage channels reduces the risk of aquaplaning. A large number of Michelin Crossclimate tread sectors, supplemented with sharp edges on one side, allow the bus to work effectively on the snow. And the smoothed edges of the blocks on the other side reduce the deformation and increase the reliability of the clutch on the dry coating

A comprehensive rubber mixture applied in Michelin Crossclimate.(Silica, Functional polymers, new plasticizers) improves adhesion on different surfaces (wet and dry road, snow coating), allows you to increase wear resistance and fuel efficiency.

TEST RESULTS

Michelin Crossclimate. - the only all-season tires in this ranking. Despite its widespread appointment, this model was able to make a worthy competition to its highly specialized opponents, primarily due to excellent indicators in a dry and wet road. AUTO Zeitung put in its circusclimate ranking for one step with the awaited winter tires Goodyear Ultragrip 9, which already shows is a high indicator. However, on the snow-covered plots of "Vesonka" expectedly showed itself worse than many. It should be noted that neither in one of the tests "Michelin" did not take the last place, thus exceeding the controllability and chain in the snow even some winter models of competitors. If the operation of the car is limited to the messenger roads of the metropolis, Michelin Crossclimate can be a good alternative to two sets of wheels.

Nokian WR D4.- Winter nothesive tires, test

Official information

New Winter Tires Nokian WR D4 are designed specifically for Central Europe. Unique innovations guarantee safe and balanced driving in conditions of changeable weather, on a wet or snow-covered road. The Nokian WR D4 bus is designed specifically for countries with soft winter climatic conditions, has an excellent clutch on wet surfaces. Nokian WR D4 is the world's first winter tires for passenger cars, providing the level of clutch and on a wet road according to the European Union classification. Special Innovations - Nokian Block Optimized Siping Laminating Technology and Nokian Twin Trac Silica Rubber Mix - offer controlled management and confident clutch. Nokian WR D4 tires are recommended for use only in the Southern Federal District.

TEST RESULTS

Inspected winter tires Nokian WR D4.could participate in three trials of different type-sizes. AUTO Zeitung gave the second place with a dimension of 205/55 R16, ADAC gave an honorable third place with 15th Wheels 185/65, but relative to 17-inch tires with a wide profile (225/45 R17) Nokian WR D4 turned out to be a full standard with 6- M Place in the standings. In general, Nokian has achieved good results in controllability on the snow and the braking distance on dry coverage, however, the "wet test" turned out to be "WR D4" not on the teeth, and the rubber wear is relatively high.

Dunlop Winter Sport 5- Winter nothesive tires, test

Official information

Increased blocks increased the number of lamellae, improving controllability and clutch in winter conditions. The lamellas in the central part were parallel to the edges of the blocks, and the steel grooves are 6-10% deeper, which reduces the risk of aquaplaning. The frame design was optimized to reduce weight, which made it possible to reduce fuel consumption.

TEST RESULTS

Dunlop Winter Sport 5- American friction tire tested by AUTO Zeitung magazine. According to German experts, Dunlop with all its merits in the form of a short braking path in the snow and dry surface, high resistance to transverse aquaplaning and high efficiency took only the 7th line of the rating. Such a low position was justified by the tendency to demolish the front axle in the snow conditions, the low-level braking efficiency on the raw surface, as well as the "rolling" of the wheels with sharp maneuvering.

Where better the characteristics of the 17-inch version of Dunlop Winter Sport 5 (width 225 mm, the profile height is 45% width). Perhaps a larger point of contact influenced all the flaws of the younger model, so that the rubber has acquired more balanced characteristics. The 17-inch Winter Sport 5 was awarded the first place in the ADAC rating due to balance (good results on the wet surface and snow, and on dry asphalt and ice) and high fuel efficiency.

Hankook.Winter.i.* cEPT.evo.2 W.320 - Winter nothesive tires, test

Official information

Winter I'cept EVO tire with a pattern resembling a white bear trail provides excellent clutch with an expensive, which significantly improves the characteristics of the tire on a snow-covered, wet and dry road. The use of an improved silicon mixture, three-dimensional lamellae and asymmetric tread pattern improves the characteristics of this winter tire, suitable for sports sedans and premium sedans.

TEST RESULTS

Hankook Winter I * CEPT EVO2 W320came to shift Hankook Winter I * CEPT EVO W310and are a fairly new model. Hankook was able to demonstrate the best handling on dry asphalt, where, according to experts, they showed themselves at the level of all-season tires, but in tests in the snow and ice of the tire could not achieve high results. As a result: 5th place in 17-inch rubber tests conducted by ADAC and AUTO VIEW.

Pirelli Cinturato Winter- Winter nothesive tires, test

Official information

Pirelli Cinturato Winter - touring winter tires for mid-class urban cars, as well as compact SUVs. In the absence of anti-slip spikes provide a high level of reliability in any winter conditions. They are also characterized by a long period of operation and good resistance to aquaplaning and slashplanting.

TEST RESULTS

Pirelli manifested themselves definitely good for winter unwanted tires. German ADAC and Autozeitung celebrated high tires on the snow and ice surface. Test cars retained informativeness and clutch even on raw surface, but the test results on dry asphalt were low. This model is unambiguously not considered as an option for operation in megalopolis.

Michelin.Alpin. 5 - Winter nothesive tires, test

Official information

A modified tread pattern contributes to a confident clutch on a snowy road. Michelin.Alpin. 5 with an increase in a 17% negative profile, a large number of sectors and a directional pattern with a high proper depth1. Due to the large number of grooves and special block configuration, the "gear effect" and the traction tire force on the snow-covered surface increases. And with the help of the modified location of the transverse grooves, water dissipation was also improved and the risk of aquaplaning was also reduced.

For the first time in the rubber mixture Michelin.Alpin. 5 Added functional elastomers. The task of these elastomers is to improve the homogeneity of the rubber mixture with increasing the proportion of the silica necessary to increase the adhesion on cold wet roads. Thus, it was possible to improve safety in winter conditions, while maintaining a high level of energy efficiency.

TEST RESULTS

Inspected tires Michelin.Alpin. 5 He fell on tests in the only dimension of 205/55 R16. Experts Teknikens Varls and Auto Zeitung celebrated quite a high traction effort that can develop these tires on the snowy road, and the handling of the asphalt cheese has left positive reviews. However, the decisive factor for the Swedish publication was the inability to quickly brake the car on the snow cover, hence the nine lines in the ranking.

Hankook.Winter.i.* cEPT.RS.2 W.452 - Winter notched tires, test

Official information

Hankook Winter I * SEPT RS2 W452 tires were designed using 3D technology, which was specially designed for this line, helped provide them with the highest performance, safety and adhesion on the snow coverage.

The use of the most advanced technologies in their design led to the fact that the Tires of Hong Kong Winter Ai Sept PC 2 in 452 have an enlarged surface of the groove and a large contact stain. It helps transport, equipped with tires, to be resistant to snow and successfully resist slide, which is formed on the wet road surface.

Rubber Hankook Winter I * CEPT RS2 W452 has a fortified lower cord and panel with a side, which leads to efficient driving on any roads and adequate turn control.

TEST RESULTS

Hankook Winter I * CEPT RS2 W452 - Friction model with a long name from the Korean manufacturer. Auto Zeitung tests have demonstrated excellent resistance to aquaplating, low noise, as well as high traction, predictable behavior and short braking path. But led the rubber at the "Valley" behavior and inability to brake the car on the raw road. And on noise accompaniment, Hankook was not the best companion on the far path.

Michelin.X.- iCEXI3 - Winter nothesive tires, test

Official information

Stable tire operation on all types of coatings, improved clutch and abbreviated brake path on ice are achieved through the use of a unique combination of three structural elements in Michelin X-Ice 3: micropomemps - lamellas - saw-shaped edges. Micropombows are small cylindrical openings located on the upper edge of the external tread unit. They are designed to reduce the negative effect of the aqueous film, which is formed on the surface of the ice and significantly worsens the tire adhesion with the road.

The Flex-Ice rubber mixture with a significant content of silica perfectly supplemented the new MICHELIN X-ICE tread configuration 3. This rubber mixture retains high elasticity at low temperatures and sufficient rigidity at elevated temperature, which improves grip on all types of winter roads. Flex-Ice has high wear resistance, as well as improved coupling properties on a wet road.

TEST RESULTS

About Michelin can be said that these are really good tires, acceptable in any conditions. Although they lack clutch to compare with tires on the upper line of the rating, in the snow and the ice Michelin behaved confidently and logical. However, experts noted that there is an obvious need to increase the number of spikes.

In the tests of Autoview X-ICE XI3, they took the first place in the effectiveness of overclocking, and also well shown themselves with most other tests, but bad results on dry asphalt led to a relatively nobody result.

Bridgestone.BlizzakLM.001 - Winter nothesive tires, test

Official information

Bridgestone Bridgestone Blizzak LM001 - friction winter tires for passenger vehicles, which, according to the manufacturer, are designed to provide security in absolutely any winter conditions. Designed for operation in the winter in Central European countries.

Element Bridgestone Blizzak LM001 - Snow-covered roads. The protector, due to its tenacity, even in the absence of anti-skid, is reliably combined into the snow. Good traction effort and efficient braking on the rolled and loose snow provides directed multicount design with a multitude of lamellae. It will also help to easily enter the snow slide, subject to the presence of an engine from your car with a sufficient burden necessary to overcome the rise with acceleration.

TEST RESULTS

Bridgestone.BlizzakLM.001 , like many of the tested tires showed a rather high result in the snow, which at the beginning do not expect from friction rubber. However, the fact remains a fact, and this can confirm both Swedish Tekniken Varld and the German ADAC Association. However, most often the winter is not so uniform, and the snow is sooner or later replaced with rain, and frosts dried the track to the state of "pure asphalt". That is why, the decisive factor in the assessment of Bridgestone was low results in all conditions, except snow. Such an imbalance of characteristics can mislead any car owner and lead to tragic consequences.

Goodyear UltraGrip Ice. 2 - Winter nothesive tires, test

Official information

Optimized contact with expensive: ActiveGrip technology supports optimal contact with an exceptionally slippery road surface. In combination with cryoadaptive materials, ActiveGrip technology provides excellent ice work.

Confident work on deep snow in Goodyear UltraGrip ICE 2 is achieved due to: the open-on the grooves in combination with the saw-shaped blocks with the collar improve the thawing of the melon and water and improve the operation of the tire on a deep snow.

Excellent braking on ice in Goodyear UltraGrip ICE 2 is achieved due to: active notches on blocks that increase the transfer of lateral efforts during maneuvers, providing an excellent brake path on ice and increasing performance.

Test results.

Goodyear UltraGrip Ice 2 occupied a leading position in its class (Scandinavian-type friction tires) in Teknikens Varld and Testworld tests. This model was able to achieve relatively high results thanks to a good longitudinal and transverse clutch on ice. Although mostly tires behave fairly predictably, including during high-speed maneuvers, sometimes the clutch is lost too sharply. This caused a low position in the overall standings compared to other types of rubber. In behavior, under the rain, UltraGrip Ice 2 was the best, according to Testworld magazine.

Nokian Hakkapeliitta R2.- Winter nothesive tires, test

Official information

Modern friction winter tire Nokian Hakkapeliitta. R2.road drivers who are important with the absolute comfort when driving, noticeably reduced fuel consumption and technology of manufacturing unwanted winter tires with the best safety characteristics.

The smallest particles added to the rubber mixture, in shape resembling multifaceted crystals, are combined into the road surface, provide adhesion with the surface while driving and improve the longitudinal and transverse clutch on the ice.

TEST RESULTS

"Velcro" Nokian.Hakkapeliitta R2 was rated as Teknikens Varld and Testworld magazines in winter conditions. And although they did not fall on the ice among the absolute leaders, they had good handling and controllability even after the start of the drift. In the snow, Nokian received high assessments and for the efficiency of braking, and for behavior during emergency maneuvers.

Nokian is enough serious problems With the grip on the wet asphalt, and there may also be difficulties on dry coating, because during a sharp maneuver, a grip can be lost on the rear axle. At the same time acoustic comfort and efficiency - at an acceptable level.

FirestoneWinterHawk. 3 - Winter nothesive tires, test

Official information

The optimized design of FireStone WinterHawk 3 is distinguished by an increased amount of tread checkers and their more thick lamellation, which increased the total number of engagement edges that ensure reliable tire clutch with snow and ice. The tread depth, unchanged from the Plecevina to the Plecevin, in combination with zigzag transverse and longitudinal grooves, contributes to the increase in the stability of Winterhawk 3 to Aqua and Slashplanting.

A special form of grooves designed by a special way allows the bus to provide first-class clutch throughout the entire operational period.

TEST RESULTS

Rubber FirestoneWinterHawk. 3 during the tests, the German community ADAC showed an amazing set of characteristics. On the one hand, these tires demonstrated good quality in controllability both on dry asphalt and snow-covered and ice areas. The results of the experiment on the fuel efficiency and noise of the wheels were high, but the high positions of the tires could not be conquered. And the fault of the testing on wet track. It was especially hard to hold the car on the trajectory, as the handling seriously suffered, when the car is derived to raw plots.

UniroyalMS.plus. 77 - Winter nothesive tires, test

Official information

Volumetric, multi-level tread pattern allows UNIROYAL MS Plus 77 tires to easily reset the water and hold on slippery, wet surface, well gripped with asphalt. The special composition of the thermoplastic resin (compound) allows tires easily to cope with any road surfaces, even an unpleasant, rough road surface. The special drawing of the tread on the edges of the tires weakens the deformation of the tire, extending the service life of the rubber.

The increased amount and width of the lamellasties also allows you to remove water from the road surface and provides uniroyal MS Plus 77 tires directly with a road surface, or snow, and not with a water film. This is a guarantee of reliability and security ride to any weather and at any time of the year.

TEST RESULTS

UniroyalMS.plus. 77 - This is another "snow" unwanted tire. ADAC conducted tests of two tire dimensions: 185/65 R15 and 225/45 R17, however, in both cases, the results turned out to be similar to each other. Juniromal successfully copes with snow bargains, and wet asphalt does not cause any difficulties in the control of the car. But the ability to hold on the road quickly, as soon as the wheels of the car fall on dry smooth asphalt or ice. As for the wear resistance and the efficiency of UNIROYAL MS Plus 77, then the result was no worse than most competitors.

Vredestein.WINTRACXtreme.S.- Winter nothesive tires, test

Official information

Being the next stage The development of the WinTRAC XTreme series, the new WinTRAC Xtreme S tires are designed for complex operating conditions at the lowest temperatures. Due to the excellent clutch with the surface and high control accuracy, the WINTRAC Xtreme S tires provide exceptional safety when driving in the snow, ice or slush, as well as wet or dry cold surfaces. The internal fixing technology of the grooves (ISLT) provides exceptionally high WINTRAC XTreme S tire characteristics, which helps to improve resistance at maximum movement speeds, and thanks to the speed index y, these tires can be used on the most high-speed cars in the world (up to 300 km / h). In addition to the excellent characteristics of the movement in the snow and slush, as well as the ability to withstand the high speed of these winter tires, developed in collaboration with Giugiaro, are characterized by an excellent style.

TEST RESULTS

Tire characteristics Vredestein.WINTRACXtreme.S.according to the results of tests, the total picture is knocked out. These wheels were very resistant to dry and wet asphalt, and the ice for verification was not terrible. Although AUTO Zeitung and celebrated too long braking path on the asphalt cheese, but the largest problems of tires arose on snow tests. Moreover, a wide tire profile (225/45 R17), tested ADAC, did not have a positive impact on the characteristics, and the result completely repeated the tests of 16 wheels by Temetsky AUTO Zeitung.

In addition, the Germans noted the strong susceptibility to wear of rubber, and high rolling resistance, which negatively affects fuel consumption.

Viking.SnowTechII.- Winter nothesive tires, test

Official information

Viking SnowTech II. - winter is not sapped tire, designed for operation in the difficult winter conditions of Europe and North America. To achieve high safety and exchange rate stability, engineers designed the original pattern of the directional mold, having a large number of engagement edges, which are formed by the abundant lamellation of the tread blocks. This design guarantees the excellent self-cleaning properties of the tread, which allows you to confidently move in deep snow.

TEST RESULTS

Viking.SnowTechII. Refer to the budget category of untapped winter rubber. Despite this, "Vikings" demonstrated high indicators in controllability and braking in the snow. Unfortunately, for all other characteristics, these wheels were not so good at all, and in particular it concerns the conditions of wet asphalt. Yes, and the noise of rubber leaves much to be desired.

Sava Eskimo Ice.- Winter nothesive tires, test

Official information

Multiradus notch with a small shoulder radius in Sava Eskimo Ice. Provides the perfect area of \u200b\u200bcontact spot with an outstanding road to improve controllability. Creates a long and wide contact spot with a uniform pressure distribution between the tire and expensive. The reinforced bottom layer of the tread improves the handling on the dry road. A solid lower layer of a tread from a special polymer provides more power when driving.

Increased mileage potential - a longer service life - saving money throughout the service life. Increased tread rubber layer to extend the life of the tire.

TEST RESULTS

For its price category Sava Eskimo Ice. Pretty well accelerates and brake on ice. However, according to experts Testworld, these tires have weak side stability, which complicates control over the car. Front wheels can easily lose adhesion with asphalt. In the snow, the situation is better, and Sava is able to provide good control and "chain."

On the wet asphalt at the SAVA long braking path and unstable behavior, which is generally typically for the tires of this class. Fortunately, the clutch on the rear axle is higher than on the front, so driving the car is relatively easy.

Among other things, Teknikens Varld rated an acceptable level of comfort and economy of this rubber.

Pirelli Icezero Fr.- Winter nothesive tires, test

Official information

This is an excellent choice for those who appreciate comfort when driving, high levels of stability and control on the road in the harsh winter conditions Pirelli.. Ice Zero FR is an alternative to the studded bus in the Pirelli Ice Zero collection: characteristics and high level control. The tire is designed specifically for owners of urban cars, premium sedans and crossovers.

TEST RESULTS

Awakened Pirelli. Icezero FR. It is predictable poorly accelerates and slow down on the ice, which is, according to Testworld, difficulties may arise with a race and descent from the hills. It aggravates the situation of extremely weak lateral stability, from which it can be concluded that ride on Pirelli on iced roads may not be easy. In the snow, everything is much better, and the controllability is quite good, although there is a danger of a sharp loss of clutch on the rear axle.

On the asphalt Pirelli Icezero FR slowly react to turns of the steering wheel, and during a maneuver on a dry coating, the rear wheels can go into a skid. Supplements the negative picture The result of Teknikens Varls tests, which marked the poor resistance of tires with aquaplaning.

Bridgestone Blizzak WS80.- Winter nothesive tires, test

Official information

Tires Bridgestone.Blizzak WS80 is manufactured according to the latest technologies using an improved rubber mixture, have a modern tread pattern. They are manufactured using electronic quality control of finished products. Provide the optimal behavior of the car on the road.

TEST RESULTS

Despite the very good clutch on ice and confident behavior on the snow, Teknikens Varld and Testworld set Bridgestone.Blizzak WS80 at very low positions. This is due to poor tirelessness and difficulties in driving on dry and wet asphalt. Blizzak is weakly resistant to aquaplaning, and in general, raw conditions can deliver a lot of inconvenience to the car owner. By totality of indicators, Bridgestone Blizzak WS80 cannot be compared with other premium tires.

Yokohama Iceguard IG50 Plus - Winter nothesive tires, test

Official information

The inner part of the tread Yokohama Iceguard IG50 Plus It has an enlarged contact spot and more lamellae, due to which the clutch indicators and the edge effect on the ice surface are improved. The outer part of the tread has a greater number of grooves, due to which excellent rates of the edge effect and adhesion with a snow-covered surface are achieved. Three-dimensional lamellas in the central part of the tire allow you to increase the contact stain, thereby contributing to stable control on any winter surface.

TEST RESULTS

As testing Testworld and Teknikes Varld, Japanese Winter Rubber Yokohama Iceguard IG50 Plus Poor suitable for Russian conditions. Perhaps the main problem of Yokohama was a weak clutch on the ice. In general, the tires are predictable, but due to the lack of adhesion ride them problematic. Weak side stability worsens handling and does not allow the clutch after leaving both ice and snow. The longitudinal grip is somewhat higher, which allows you to more confidently accelerate and slow down, but only in a direct trajectory.

Under conditions of raw weather and wet asphalt Yokohama Iceguard IG50 Plus Easily lose the grip on the rear axle with a rapid rotation of the steering wheel. On the dry surface, the tire characteristics are somewhat better, and although the rubber has enough "ball" temperament, the wheels still behave logically and do not prevent unpleasant surprises. In addition, the Yokohama has a fairly short brake path on a dry surface.

conclusions

An unambiguous output about which tires are better, and what worse there is simply no. Each type and model of tires is better suited for some conditions, and worse for others. Eminent Nokian.Hakkapeliitta. 8 , as well as Continental Icecontact 2. Displays outstanding qualities on snowy and ice roads, taking first places in many tests. However, when it comes to dry and raw materials, soft tires with lots metal spikes Pasiva even before much cheaper competitors. And this is not wonderful, because these tires are intended for the northern climatic zones with their frosty snowy winter and ice trails.

Meanwhile, most of the domestic fleet holds the winter in more "civilized conditions" of cleaned city roads and winter thaws, and friction tires come to the revenue Continental WinterContact. or Goodyear UltraGrip 9.Of course, they are inferior to "riding" on the passability in the snow and "chain" on the ice, but much better keep dry or wet asphalt.

Well, in the southern regions with their incomolete or even positive temperature, too harsh winter tires can generally be dangerous, given its "valve" at high temperatures and poor behavior in the rain.

Improved clutch on ice is achieved due to the maximum allowable number of spikes per square meter located in a special sequence along the entire longitudinal plane of the contact spot, including on central tread blocks. In the bus used an enhanced frame design. A new optimized frame circuit system provides increased strength due to a decrease in tire deformation at high speeds. The longer design of the sidewall is achieved by using high-strength steel braces, which optimizes the distribution of emerging stresses. Landing diameters of a tire from 16 to 18 inches, profile width up to 265 mm.

Winguard Ice SUV.

An environmentally friendly recycled oil with palm oil with the addition of palm oil is used in the composition of the rubber mixture with the addition of palm oil, increases the properties of the compatibility of the polymer and silicon dioxide. As a result, rolling resistance decreases, and also improves the characteristics on the snow and ice at low temperatures. The V-shaped tread pattern with 4 grooves and 2 semi-windows provides a high degree of self-cleaning from the snow porridge and the removal of water from the contact stain. V-shaped lamellas increase the rigidity of the shoulder blocks and improve durability. Landing diameters of a tire from 16 to 18 inches, profile width up to 285 mm.

Winguard Snow'g WH2.

To increase the rigidity of the side blocks of the tread in the construction of the bus, 3D lamellas are used, which contributes to more accurate controllability and braking. To improve the tread clutch on a wet and snowy road in the composition of the rubber mixture, nanodissession of functionalized polymers and silica was applied. Compared with the previous model, to improve the clutch on the snow, the number of blocks increased by 20%. The V-shape of the grooves set on the shoulder zone helps to effectively remove water from the contact spot, reducing the effect of the aquaplamination. Tire diameters - from 13 to 17 inches.

Wrangler Duratrac.

This goodyear tire is designed for large SUVs and pickups, and in its range more than 30 sizes. Microgruntelas in the tread grooves provide additional engagement edges when moving in deep mud, and also increase the level of engagement in deep snow. The potential of the tire when moving on off-road increases and the special form of the tread unit of the central zone, and the stepwise location of the shoulder zone blocks. The special composition of the rubber mixture of the tread makes the blocks more resistant to breaks and destruction. Self-cleaning shoulder area helps effectively divert water, dirt and gravel from tire contact spots with expensive. Each tire has protection wheel Discwhich not only helps prevent its damage, but also prevents the entry of the Earth or other elements of the coating between the bus and the disk when moving low pressure. Zigzag lamellas in the protector layer improve controllability on the wet surface and contribute to the adhesion on the snow-covered and icy road. Samples with LT index have holes under the spikes. Successful tire tests in winter confirms the "Snowflake" icon (3PSF).

Yokohama Iceguard IG55

A seized tire with original tread pattern, which includes a central edge, bulk lamellae and diagonal microchangaski, allowing you to optimize the contact stain and the clutch with the road. The design of the shoulder blocks also improves the adhesion, and wide inclined grooves improve water and slice. The spike, developed with the help of 3D design, has the shape of the flange and core, which enhances the edge effect, which improves the clutch on the ice and helps hold spikes in the bus. The optimized distribution of spikes not only enhances the clutch on the ice, but also reduces the noise level. Particular attention was paid to the composition of the rubber mixture. The water absorbing composition used for Ice Guard friction models effectively absorbs the water film, and the elastic polymer and the high density of the microparticles allowed to optimize the tread hardness and stabilize the tire behavior on the dry road. Also, the composition of the rubber mixture includes silica and orange oil. The tire is represented in 29 sizes with planting diameters from 16 to 18 inches.

Yokohama Iceguard G075

This is the first in the history of the brand is an unwanted tire for SUV class cars. Particular attention in the development of the rubber mixture was facing the possibility of a composition absorbing the water film formed when driving on ice. In addition, the Ice Guard Studless G075 rubber mixture has softer properties at low temperatures, which improves grip. A new tread pattern is focused on a high edge effect on an ice surface. In comparison with the G073 model, the brake path on ice was reduced by 23%, 5% lower than 2 dB resistance was reduced by a noise level. The bus is available in 18 sizes with landing diameters from 16 to 18 inches.

Yokohama Blueeart V905

Winter unwanted tire with environmentally friendly technology Blueeart. In the focus of its developers there were indicators of the level of clutch on the snow and wet coating, as well as rolling resistance. In the tire design, a special sub-designer layer is used, which increases the rigidity of the tire design and, accordingly, reduces heat generation when driving - a solution that promotes fuel efficiency. The tire is represented in 119 sizes with landing diameters from 15 to 22 inches.

Test car: Ford Focus.

Currently, the number of spikes in the tire is not legally limited. More precisely, there are no restrictions if the product is tested by an independent inspection organization, which confirmed that the damage caused by the road liner does not exceed the permissible border. If the test passed successfully, the manufacturer has the right to determine the type of spikes itself and their number.

Another option is to abandon the test and use the maximum allowable amount of spikes, that is, 50 pieces per 1 meter circumference; For the size used in this test, the number of spikes is slightly less than a hundred. Only three of the twelve manufacturers whose products participated in the test, chose this option.

An increase in the number of spikes improves the clutch on the ice. This is a logical conclusion that is confirmed by the test results almost without exception. However, many spikes do not guarantee success in the test, it only creates an additional clutch on the ice.
A large amount of spikes usually means a higher noise level, and this is one of the most annoying features of the tire. When driving on asphalt, spikes may worsen handling, stability and braking.

The clutch on ice is created due to the fact that the tire is pushing the surface of the ice. This requires a certain pressure on the ice. A larger number of spikes creates less pressure on each spike separately. In cold weather, when the ice becomes more hard, the tire with a smaller number of spikes creates a better clutch.

Studded tires.

A few years ago, Nokian Tyres struck everyone, presenting a tire with 190 spikes - it was 50-100% more than what the then tire market was used. Since then, Nokian wins one ice test after another; Be that as it may, her separation from competitors is shortened.

This year, Continental also introduced a tire with the maximum number of spikes - 190. It is not difficult to guess where German shinniki appealed for inspiration when it was about the number of spikes, but the result turned out to be otned.

Hankook ranks third in the number of spikes - 170. The South Korean manufacturer has spent years on research and development, and it's nice to look at the result of his work - good winter tires from Asia. 10 years ago, Korean tires were honored except that a sympathetic smile, but now Hankook erase smirks even with the people of the largest European competitors.

A large group of manufacturers preferred to use about 130 spikes. Goodyear, Bridgestone and Pirelli are well-known manufacturers, and it is obvious that their tires will be selected for the dough. As an alternative to flagship products, the tests were included in the test - Sava and Dunlop, as well as the old brand of Nokian, always enjoyed by great success - Nordman.

Michelin, Gislaved and Chinese Lin¬glong decided to use less than 100 spikes, and this means that they did not have to undergo a road test. The first two are premium tires, but it seems that other characteristics do not compensate for weak clutch on ice caused by a small number of spikes.

Linglong has already participated in Tekniikan Maailma tests earlier, this is one of the most successful winter models of Chinese production.

Inspected tires take a challenge.

Inspected tires do not need to worry about the number of spikes, but the absence of the latter has to compensate for in other way. What creates a number of other problems. A set of tools for creating a reliable clutch on ice is very limited. In most cases, it includes the development of new materials to make a rubber mixture as soft as possible, and improving the tread pattern.

But if the rubber mixture is too soft, it will lead to new problems, the most serious of which are deterioration in the clutch on a wet road, unstable handling and low wear resistance.

All last years, leading places in the tests of untreated tires occupied Nokian and Continental. Even without spikes, their tires are an amazing clutch on the ice, but the reverse side of this medal is that buyers have to put up with sluggish handling on the asphalt or choose the tires of other manufacturers.

GoodYear When developing non-shredded tires, focused on the controllability on the asphalt, going to minimal compromises for the sake of improving the safety qualities on the snow and on the ice. Michelin always chooses balanced characteristics, without outstanding parties, but without obvious problems. Pirelli and Bridgestone are old brands that have long known to consumers, but the properties of their models range from the test to the test.

We included in this test two products lower price categories: Junior brand Nokian. - Nordman, and tires of the Taiwan manufacturer Nankang, famous for the release of good summer tires. Let's see if the winter tires of this brand will be able to compare with their European competitors.

In the test of this year Twelve models of different price categories participated, and some of them have demonstrated certain flaws in some areas. Some tires were clearly designed for harsh winters, because of which the manufacturers had to donate handling on asphalt. Others preferred to create a product, which is equally good under any conditions, but at no reason. Of course, a tire, which is not able to cope at least with one test, is a bad choice, especially if something better can be found for the same price.

Will winter tires wear?

The bus wednesday is overwhelmed by the most diverse information on how quickly wears different types Winter tires and how it affects their clutch. Some say that the unwanted tires are twice as quickly studded. Others assure that due to wear of spikes after a couple of years, studded tires loses the clutch much fasterly untouched.

For dough on wear resistance, we chose six different brands of the last four years, four studded and two awesome. During this test, the tires had to drive 15,000 kilometers on pure asphalt in cold weather. It is approximately equivalent to two winter seasons. Most of the route took place on public roads, and the test included hundreds of controlled stops, braking and accelerations at urban speed - to reproduce driving conditions in the urban environment.

For the test, three cars were used, which moved a column one by one route, with the same conditions, with a constant shift of drivers. Two tires of each model were taken, the front and rear wheels were rotated every day. Thus, by the end of the test, each model made an equal distance on the front and on the rear axle, and was controlled by each of the three drivers. Thus, the same conditions were provided for all tires, and the differences between cars, driving conditions and the characters of drivers did not affect the result.

In addition, the tires passed test tests on the ice at the very beginning of the test and every 5,000 mileage kilometers. These tests were carried out on covered rollers under the same conditions. An interesting result is both studded and non-shredted tires, the grip decreased evenly throughout the test, and in 15,000 kilometers amounted to 80% of the initial one. The grip decreased approximately equally in all brands, and on this indicator of the tire retained their initial positions relative to each other.
This is a good news because it confirms that the results of tire tests are applicable not only for new, but also for worn tires.

Of course, all participants in the test were some differences in wear resistance. The table applied below is the depth of the tread and the calculated service life of the tires, to the depth of the tread 3 mm.

Historically, Michelin has a reputation of the most wear-resistant tire, and it seems that this reputation was confirmed in this test. It should be noted that the service life of the tire specified in this test is calculated; That is, it may differ from the real, taking into account the difference of cars, roads and driving style.

It should also be noted that all tires, with the exception of Michelin and Goodyear, both studded and untouchable, weathered approximately the same, about 2 mm. Only in an awaited Continental protector is 1.5 mm, as in Michelin, but considering the smaller initial tread depth, this model has reached a minimum depth of 3 mm faster.

The reverse side of wear resistance is a clutch, more precisely, its disadvantage. And the choice in this case remains for the buyer: whether he wants to buy the best grip more often or the worst - less often.

Driving on ice and in the snow: This Nokian model is the best tire on ice from all that is on sale at present. The grip during overclocking and braking is great, the tires do not go out of control even in extreme conditions. Among other things, this model offers a reliable clutch and controllability in the snow.
Driving on asphalt: On a clean road it becomes noticeable that this tire is designed for winter. She lacks adhesion when braking and maneuvering, but at its very nature, this tire has a calm character, so that it will not give you an unpleasant surprise in the form of a sudden clutch loss.
Efficiency and comfort: This model is no more noisy than any average studded tire, although you have to hear the sound of spikes. Rolling resistance on a good level for the studded bus.

How to test.

Test for braking: it was performed on ice, snow, dry and wet asphalt. Tests were carried out at different temperatures. At the same time used the ABS system. On Ice, the speed at the time of the start of the braking was 50 km / h, in the snow and asphalt - 80 km / h. Tests for braking in the snow and ice, as a rule, are carried out on an open track, with careful observance of the same conditions (in particular, when maintaining the same temperature).

Test overclocking: it was conducted to measure tire cravings on the snow, ice and wet asphalt. In this test, overclocking on ice (5-20 km / h), in the snow and asphalt (5-35 km / h) were measured. Like other stages of the test, was carried out at different temperatures, its results may differ from the results of other tests. This test was conducted both open-air and on covered tracks.

Handling test: In this part of the test, the speed of the track was taken into account. The result could change depending on what driver was driving. Tests were carried out on ice, in the snow and on a wet road. The breakage time of the circle on a dry road is usually not carried out when tested tires.

Subjective control rate: In this part of the test, the controllability of tires on ice, snow, dry and wet roads was evaluated by the impressions of drivers and complemented the main stage of the test dough. The final estimate is the arithmetic estimates of all drivers. The main criterion of high assessment was safe and predictable handling.

Noise level : It was estimated subjectively from the inside of the car. During this stage of the test, the driver listened to noise while the car moved rolling from 100 to 40 km / h. No measuring instruments were used in this dough.

In the second part of the tests of Tekniikan MAAILMA of this season, non-vitrated tires of the Scandinavian type of various price segments are compared. Only from the leaders of this segment are traditionally considered Nokian and Continental, which this year both issued on a novelty, despite the fact that their previous generation models also showed very high results.

Bridgestone, Goodyear, Hankook, Michelin and Pirelli participate in the test with already familiar tires, and tests say that they are still capable of demonstrating excellent indicators. At the same time, at least in separate disciplines, new tires have become more successful.

Japanese Yokohama is famous primarily by its summer UHP-tires, as well as winter tires European type. At the same time, for the northern winter, other materials and technical solutions are needed, and so far this company in tire tests does not pretend to such conditions. At the same time, Yokohama has definitely not the worst tires available.

China this time represents Linglong, which before that participated in tests with varying success. According to experts, although Chinese tires in recent years become more qualitative to products from leading brands they are still far away.
