Where Nokian Hakapelita rubber is produced 9. Country of origin of Nokian tires. About the Nokian brand

It is believed that there is no more room for improvement in tire production, but the Finns from Nokian Tires are constantly finding new reserves. For example, their newest product is Nokian Hakkapeliitta 9 - came out about six months after its predecessor, the G8, and was able to surpass it in all respects. The Hakka 9 is designed around the functional stud principle, also referred to as hybrid. Its essence lies in the use of two types of studs, which guarantee the stable behavior of the tire in various conditions.

Of course, Finnish craftsmen modernize their products in a comprehensive manner. In particular, the Hakka 9 tires have an improved rubber composition and a modified tread pattern. Nevertheless, it was in the field of studding that Nokian developers made a major breakthrough.

Nokian Hakka 9: separation of responsibilities

The "nine" bus is divided into two zones. The central part of the tread consists of studs equipped with a core of considerable width in the longitudinal direction. The edge of each has a beveled shape, which gives the cleat the opportunity to go into the ice more and provide the car with increased grip. The configuration of these elements in the tread improves grip both during acceleration and braking. The secret is that the momentum in contact with the road is spread over a larger surface than standard studs.

In the shoulder areas of the product, there are trefoil-shaped thorns on the sides of the product. Studs of this type are equipped with pins made of tungsten carbide materials, which increase their resistance to lateral loads. Now, when cornering, the tire flanks also come into contact with a larger than normal road surface. This improves grip when maneuvering and on slippery surfaces.

This is curious! Previously, two types of studding were used only on sports cars... And only the company Nokian Tires brought this technology to the ordinary consumer, bringing such tires to the market, while being designed for standard cars.

Nokian Hakka 9: improved road handling

The Eco Stud concept was created for the improved interaction of the Hakka 9 tires with the road. The cushioning layer of the same name is designed to reduce the intensity when the spike comes into contact with the canvas. The chamfered stud components, thanks to the use of Eco Stud, act on a large surface of the road, which reduces the specific load on the surface. Likewise, an air layer in the flange reduces the effect of the route on the stud and vice versa.
It is important! The studs, developed with the Eco Stud concept, not only respect the road surface, but also produce less noise, which means a more comfortable ride for the driver and passengers.

Nokian Hakka 9: efficient siping

Both lamellas and drainage channels play a significant role. Shaped sipes significantly increase the tire's handling. Thanks to the skillful siping of the Hakka 9, the car has a noticeably better steering response on wet roads.

It's beautiful! These sipes also give the tread an attractive appearance.

Nokian Hakka 9: updated rubber composition

The improved rubber includes rubber as a base, rapeseed oil for the overall elasticity of the product, silica (i.e. a silicon compound) for stiffness, and the modern Green Elasto Pro biomaterial. The last component allows the tire to remain elastic, even if the temperature drops noticeably below zero.

Nokian Hakka 9: assortment

In total, there are 52 standard sizes of Hakka 9 tires on the market, which range from 14 to 20 inches. Most of the tires of each size are suitable for operation in the mode maximum load(typical for most Russian roads), as evidenced by the XL index assigned to them.

Nokian Hakkapeliitta 9 tires have the following advantages:

  • unique studding concept for secure grip;
  • stable, balanced handling;
  • minimum noise level;
  • low consumption fuel.

This is the first in the world winter tires with revolutionary stud technology, which uses 2 types of studs. Winter tires have improved grip and elevated level handling on wet or slippery roads. Each of the types of studs used is located in a certain area of the tread. The load on the road depends on the zone.

Thanks to the innovative Green Elasto Proof biomaterial, the rubber compound remains flexible when low temperatures... Rapeseed oil makes it tear-resistant. Long-lasting chemical bonds help the mixture create reliable traction year after year, even as mileage increases. The engineers provided Eco Stud System shock absorbers. They are responsible for the softness of the stroke, help to suppress noise.

Increased cross-country ability tires on difficult snow-covered trails depend on the drainage system to function flawlessly. The design includes brake boosters and self-locking sipes. Their joint work creates comfortable conditions for overcoming difficult sections. winter roads.

In the comparative tests of the Auto Review, the Nokian Hakkapeliitta 8 studded tires have invariably become the best winter tires for the last couple of years. And I managed to get acquainted with their successors Hakkapeliitta 9 even before the official premiere.

I assumed that the Finnish tire workers on the new model would put the spikes on the glue, as the creators did. Continental tires IceContact 2. But the Finns refused the technology of hot vulcanization of thorns: it is expensive. They chose a different path: they used two types of studs. Yes, special sports tires are sometimes studded according to this scheme, but double studding is used for the first time in serial "civilian" tires.

Of course, both the tread pattern and the composition of the rubber compound have undergone changes in the "nine". However, the main innovation is in studding. In the middle part of the tread there are studs with a transversely oriented carbide insert: these effectively work in the longitudinal direction and are responsible for acceleration and braking on ice. And on the sides there are trefoil-shaped spikes: they are responsible for the transverse grip properties and handling characteristics on ice. At the same time, the total number of studs, compared to the previous model, even decreased: in 16-inch tires there are now 172 of them against the previous 190.

Simultaneously with tires for conventional passenger cars a modification of the "nine" for crossovers and SUVs is entering the market. In addition to the size range, it is distinguished by additional bridges connecting the shoulder blocks of the tread, a different rubber composition and a more durable aramid-reinforced carcass. Moreover, in tires with the SUV index, the spikes are more powerful, their body is a millimeter higher. It was these tires of dimension 215/65 R16 that took part in our comparative test on Renault car Kaptur. The opponents of the new model Hakkapeliitta 9 are 13 studded competitors, among which are relatively inexpensive products of domestic tire manufacturers, and imported top models. An interesting detail: the overhang we measured, that is, the protrusion of the studs above the tread surface, in new Nokian tire The Hakkapeliitta 9 turned out to be quite modest - an average of 1.1 mm. But after running in, the spikes took a more aggressive position - 1.5 mm, that is, exactly along the upper border of compliance with the Russian technical regulations(1.2 ± 0.3 mm).

The first test results suggest that according to adhesion properties on ice, the Nokian Hakkapeliitta 9 outperforms the competition. However, let's not get ahead of ourselves: in addition to tests on ice, tests on rolled and freshly fallen snow and on asphalt are also taken into account. The work has not been completed yet, and we will present the final conclusions to the judgment of Autoreview readers and viewers of our YouTube channel in early autumn - when the mass sales of Nokian Hakkapeliitta 9 tires begin. including at the Russian plant Nokian Tires near St. Petersburg) has already started, and the first batches of new tires have begun to be shipped to dealers.

Concern Nokian Tires announced the release of a new winter tires in the Hakkapeliitta line - Nokian Hakkapeliitta 9. The novelty has absorbed all the advantages and has been seriously modified to make driving even easier, more comfortable and safe. The main advantages: reliable grip on any winter tracks, good handling, low noise and reduced fuel consumption. The company's engineers have spent over four years developing and testing the nine. It was tested in the most extreme conditions at the Nokian Tires White Hell test site, located above the Arctic Circle in the town of Ivalo.

New stud technology - a guarantee of reliable grip

In addition to good longitudinal grip, the functional studding system gives drivers excellent lateral grip on snow or ice covered roads. For bus used two kinds of thorns- for the central part of the tread and for the shoulder areas (see picture). The first ones are made with a core wide in the longitudinal direction. It provides the largest grip area. The chamfered edge plunges the stud deep into the ice layer, which enhances braking grip and improves lateral grip. The shoulder studs have a triaxial carbide stud to withstand high lateral loads. When cornering, the cleat edge always occupies the largest area in the contact patch, enhancing lateral grip.

Precise contact of the Nokian Hakkapeliitta 9 pins is achieved with the concept Eco Stud 9... It is based on the presence of two studs of different shapes, a shock-absorbing Eco Stud layer, which softens the contact of the stud with the surface, an air space in the center of the flange, which reduces the effect of the stud on the canvas, and beveled wear-resistant elements of the central studs. The beveled cores of the studs (see photo) disperse the impact over a larger area. Eco Stud 9 concept reduces the impact on road surface, plus, in comparison with its predecessors, the tire has become less noisy.

Nokian Hakkapeliitta 9 Tread

The crisp tread pattern is deeply cut by the supporting 3D sipes for improved handling during snowfall. These sipes connect the tread blocks to each other in contact with the road, improving handling when cornering and maneuvering. Aggressive deep snow traction enhancers in the shoulder areas add extra stability.

Traction on icy roads is enhanced by the use of a new rubber compound that combines safety and environmental friendliness. The main components are silica, rapeseed oil, natural rubber and a new biomaterial Green Elasto Proof, which helps the rubber not to "harden" even at very low temperatures.

The Nokian Hakkapeliitta 9 has a tread with a wear indicator - Driving Safety Indicator (DSI)... The center of the tire displays residual depth protector. When the groove depth is less than 4 mm, the indicator disappears. winter safety in the form of a snowflake - Winter Safety Indicator (WSI)- visible as long as the groove depth is at least 4 mm. When it wears off, the manufacturer recommends replacing the rubber.

Stable control in all conditions

The company's specialists took into account that winter tires should provide excellent grip and handling even on snow and ice-free asphalt. As noted by Juha Pirhonen, Vice President of Research and Development at Nokian Tires, “The stability in handling was achieved thanks to the Stability support network pattern, in which the level of the elastic base layer of the tread is closer to the contact patch and forms the bottom of the tread grooves and base of tread blocks with sipes. Thanks to this arrangement of the base layer, the blocks become more elastic and stable, which gives stability when driving on the Nokian Hakkapeliitta 9 "tire.

The heavy-duty steel belt strap makes the tire structure lightweight and durable, ensuring precise handling even at high speeds. Updated rubber compound Special Clinch in the bead area increases wear resistance and makes driving more comfortable.

Nokian Hakkapeliitta 9 tires are available in 52 sizes from 14 to 20 inches, and are designed for small, medium and large family, SUV and sports cars.

They will go on sale in the Russian Federation by the fall of 2017.
