Alive Volkswagen Tiguan in Russia was waiting. Waiting with a special trepidation, because his predecessor became a real bestseller of his segment! Even in pre-pre-age, Tiguan was part of the top 10 crossovers of the C + class, noticeably inferior only to more accessible and slightly losing more modern models. But after the update, everything has grown: dimensions and internal space, level of equipment and technologies - and, of course, the price. Will I be sad to predecessor, who fully justified his consumer properties? With this question, I sat in Moscow behind the wheel of a new Tiguana and went on it to Chechnya.

I don't know what I bought before Tiguan bought before, because I myself am its owner. For three years, we rolled 150,000 kilometers on it with the whole family, and believe me, it was quite rich years and a distance. Together with us, he visited all autodroms where the stages of the Russian series of ring races are held. He traveled along the ground paths and broken asphalt tracks, in the city jungle and on a wide highway.

In winter and summer, in the fall and spring, Tiguan is always lucky. In his modest trunk, half-fledged cement and more cubic meters of firewood were dressed, in it transported all the construction and economic nonsense, racing equipment - and sometimes I just slept in it, spreading the polyurethane foam rug and wrapped in a sleeping bag. In general, I think you have already understood that the test of the new Tiguan is a personal matter, even almost intimate.

And therefore, only sowing behind the wheel and immersing all the necessary things, I immediately go to the far path - to the Chechen Republic, on the road "The Fortress of Grozny". And the first feeling from the car, which arises from the owner of the old Tiguana - some kind of gigantic size of a novice! But very quickly understand that this is just a feeling caused by his design.

In reality, Volkswagen Tiguan increased only 3 cm wide, 6 cm long and began 3 cm below. Changes are minimal, and the visual effect is grandiose. The perception affects the "angular" style of exterior and "air" salon. In the long road, it creates additional comfort and a sense of confidence, but in the city with unaccustomed a little uncomfortable. But, hugging, maneuvering on narrow streets as confidently as on the "native" trigoon.

In the face - a whole complex of electronic assistants, starting with traditional ultrasound sensors and cameras and ending with a parking assistant that drives the car to free space and along, and across. True, such an option is more useful for novice drivers: Tiguan himself does not always risk climbing the gap, where it was possible to squeeze me.

But a large trunk is not a mirage. Its volume has really grown, confirming the feeling of increased sizes. This is especially noticeable with the backs of the second row chairs: 615 liters against 470 at the progenitor! An additional 145 liters is a very nice bonus, and the difference will remain the same if you fold the backs of the back chairs. But it seemed that since the wheelbase had increased by a centimeter more than the length, then the whole increase would be happy with the rear passengers, and not flex. But the linkers found a compromise by adding the stock of the Sedokam's space and take the comments of those who criticized the trunk of the old model.

These additional 7 centimeters between the axes flavored with a decrease in the exhaust mass by 43 kilograms, changed the behavior of the Tiguan in the turns beyond recognition. On the one hand, now on a slippery road, he is less cordial for gas discharge - and for adrenaline lovers is minus. On the other hand, the car has become much more stable in any turns, whether it is a gender bends of highways or swirling loops of serpentine. And this means that any driver is both a pseudo-ripper event, and a newcomer who has moved with speed - with a greater probability will remain on the road.

So, we are going to Grozny, first cutting the space on the M-4 "Don" highway, then turning on M-29 "Caucasus". And it can be two different stories For the driver of another car, but not new Tiguan. It is absolutely indifferent to the coating under the wheels: adaptive cruise control comes to the residue on the long distilts of the new-built cruise control, and on the narrow areas of old highways, if necessary, the third generation motor 2.0 TSI motor and updated DSG-7 are joined.

The new power plant is characterized by an even wider working range - traction is always enough and everywhere. For a trip to Chechnya and back average consumption amounted to 7.1 l / 100km, and even if you add a few days in Moscow traffic jams, then the numbers still set up optimism: 8.6 l / 100 km in mixed cycle - Very worthy result. True, in pure urban mode, it was rarely descended below 10, but let's remember that you and one and a half tons of a new trigana carries a two-liter turbo engine.

In the regions remote from Moscow, the newcomers raises genuine interest. Quite often I was asked if it was not Touareg, but still, in the overwhelming majority, people recognized the successor of the past Tiguana in it. So I, I get used to new forms a bit, I notice more and more kinship between the two generations. And one of the main joint skills is the unexpected gifting of the city crossover on coverings that have nothing to do with the usual concept of "road".

Therefore, I decided to call dear any direction marked with regular navigation. So I climbed on the slope of the mountain, from where a chic view of Pyatigorsk opened. So I drove through a small field, circling an accident near Rostov-on-Don. And if the employees of Volkswagen were not lazy and drove through all these trails before pouring them into the navigator, then the cards for Tiguan and some Volkswagen Passat should vary: where the path of the sedan is ordered, you can slip on the crossover!

After all, it was the regular navigation that I started me on the stony slopes, and in a risky clay, but I never turned back. Although once wanted, yes, it was not possible to turn around in a deep rut - I had to pop up on Kosoyar to a normal road. At the same time appreciated the possibilities of the 4Motion Active Control system: let the Tiguan transmission calmly copes with diagonal hanging and confidently rowing in the mud, but before a complex site, it is still better to click the washer and choose one of the off-road modes and clamp the inter-axis clutch.

But I don't like something in the new crossover. First, there are complaints about the smoothness of the move: Tiguan does not notice long waves of asphalt at high speed, but nervously reacts to the pits with sharp edges and the sleeping police and causes the saddles bouncing. Secondly, the fuel tank capacity is now 58 liters - it is 6 liters less than that of the predecessor. But this is an additional 60-80 km of the stock of the stroke, which can always come in handy on the track. Third, excessive optimism navigation system Sometimes it can drive an inexperienced driver into an impassable deadlock.

The electronic instrument panel is the prerogative of an expensive Highline configuration, but I am ready to pay extra for it and in junior versions to configure the "tidy" at its discretion. After all, you can withdraw all that you wish - from fuel consumption to navigation. I liked the comfortable multimediasystem, well working with Apple CarPlay. And leather chairs with electrically regulators and memory are almost an ideal: I lacked only lateral support on mountain roads, but in the long road, the spin never reminded himself.

The wide possibility of transformation of the cabin is not just an advertising slogan. In all versions, except for the base, Tiguan allows you to not just leake back the backs of the rear sofa, but also to throw the front passenger seat with them. In the cabin there are many places to store all sorts of trifles, tables for the rear passengers, a portable flashlight in the trunk and even a socket at 230 V. In short, the car is packed for all occasions. And this is a really decent successor to the former Tiguana, which is also suitable for an experienced driver and an absolute novice.

I suspect that when creating a new model, German engineers drove the old car in boxing and began to think: what to improve it? And after thousands of exclamations started with the phrase "And what if ...", the most important of them took an important decision: improve everything! Further did the methodically worked out every detail, and when everyone did - they gave the test to the most different drivers. They collected their opinions and did all the work again, so that new "chips" fell to faithfully customers.

how owner Volkswagen. Tiguan last generation, I recognize the old car in everything. Everything is intuitive to me, and I haven't had to get used to anything, although each trifle is made in a new way. Probably, this is a German approach to creating a car. And on the example of the future leader of the crossover segment, I understand that it is worth it. When the time comes to change my Tiguan on something new, I will definitely know that a decent replacement exists.

The interior is a geometrically verified space. Like Ergonomic experts, one hundred times reshered the front panel, while the gaps between the buttons, deflectors and chrome plates did not come to mathematical excellence. And for some reason, no moment you doubt that the designers tried to please you. Otherwise, how to explain that each of the participants in our test group quickly and without problems found a comfortable fit, and the mutual location of the controls and all buttons rated for five plus? It is cozy and everything is intuitive. The case when the manual remains dust in the mean drawer as unnecessary.

But in this flawlessness and weakness of the Tiguana. Assembly acceleration and honed driving properties are perceived as something of granted - and it is worth the Volkswagen at least to give the slack, it immediately cuts his eyes. I am not talking about the hard triggering suspension on small irregularities - such a character is traditional for many German cars. Fortunately, on medium and large calibers Tiguan stands stepping. But a small aerodynamic noise is another matter. Not crime, but against the background of excellently isolated wheeled arches and plugged motor compartment, a light breeze in the area of \u200b\u200bthe windshield, waking up at a speed of 100 km / h, is perceived as a tornado.

The same story with handling. Tiguan flawlessly stands on the arc, conquers the speed and purity of responses. The electric powerful honestly changes the effort on the steering wheel and does not disinform the driver. Perfectly! But light nervousness on asphalt kolas, barely noticeable sensitivity to the lateral wind, which in another case would not pay attention, here seems to be something out of a series of outgoing.

What there is no single comment, so it is to the engine ligament and the box. Without spark

Over the scenes of the comparative test, another modification of the new Tiguana remained - we decided to get acquainted with a diesel version with a capacity of 150 hp. (See video above).
