The vehicle passport, as well as the vehicle registration certificate, contain information about the vehicle and the owner, so you must always carry the documents with you. Most of the data in both documents is the same. This applies to the series and number of the TCP, which is duplicated in the STS. How can I find out the series and number of the TCP and can this be done through online services? How and where to look by whom and when the TCP was issued? Why might this data be needed? How to find document IDs?
The PTS series is a series consisting of 2 numbers and 2 Russian letters. In this case, the numbers must match the code of the region where the car passport was received. The only exception will be cars, documents for which were issued before 2007 in Moscow by the Central Excise Customs, which assigned code 78 instead of 77. Accordingly, on the site you need to go to the "Services" section, and then select a car or driver check. However, most other services offer to provide information only when entering the series and number of the TCP.
Where to see by whom and when issued?
The columns “By whom the Title was issued”, as well as when it was issued, can be seen in the document itself on the front side, where the series and number are written at the top, and then there are data about the car. The citizen needs information from the last 2 lines. It indicates not only the name of the organization that issued the document, but also its address. These columns most often put a wet seal of the organization that issued the document. Therefore, it is possible to confirm its name when deciphering the seal. The registration certificate is issued by the Russian authorized bodies even in cases of purchasing a vehicle abroad. Why do you need information from the PTS?
Based on the series and number of the title, the vehicle and its belonging to a particular person are identified. PTS and STS are usually requested by traffic police officers, after which they drive the series and number of the document into the database to verify the authenticity of the document, as well as request information about the driver. How to restore STS to a car in case of loss?

What is STS
Vehicle Registration Certificate (CTC)- This is one of the main documents for the vehicle. At the bottom of the STS, the number of the certificate form and the date of registration of the vehicle with the traffic police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation are duplicated in black ink.
