Indeed, contrary to the traditional designation, Fury III does not at all mean that the model belongs to the corresponding generation, but only its completeness. Having joined the local AutoAmerica community, he learned that there are many “dream cars” in Russia that require active participation. His choice fell on the Plymouth Fury III, not only because the car was in good condition. "Fuselage" - favorite bodies of Rostislav, because they embodied the "last sorry" of the impetuous American auto design. In 1974, due to environmental bans and the oil crisis on the other side of the Atlantic, the Japanese compacts ruled the show. Mitsubishi, for example, teamed up with Chrysler to push its subcompact cars to market under the guise of American coupes. There was nothing to choose from - local cars at once became ugly, turning into truncated, expressionless pieces of iron. But this Plymouth was not like that.


Before buying Rostislav carefully inquired about the car. It turned out that she arrived in the country in the 1990s, when customs duties were a minor nuisance, and not a serious measure of restriction. The compartment changed several owners, and they all treated it with understanding - they rode a little, did not keep it on the street, did not "farm". Therefore, Fury went to the capital of Belarus from Bryansk on her own.

The state of the body was also surprising: the stale old paint had to be scraped off to iron, but it appeared in excellent condition - just prime and paint whatever you want. Even the front console, the plastic in the production of which was always of poor quality and crackled in the sun, led to original view with fiberglass. As a result, six months of painstaking rebuilding led to Plymouth's readiness to make its first official departure.

The second and more pressing problem is the lack of a right mirror. Original part for this model simply does not exist. Paired "rear view accessories" such Plymouths, as luck would have it, began to be equipped only in 1973. Therefore, Rostislav is struggling with himself in the desire to install two complete, but unoriginal retro mirrors, or leave everything as it is, and drive even more jewelry. And this in urban conditions for a classic American full-size car is not an easy task.

For all its formidable beauty, the Plymouth Fury III is not suitable for everyday use. Therefore, the car rolls very little during the season.
