Moreover, this fault arose reused - shortly before that the sensor was already repaired. The repair was combined with the replacement of brake drums along with the pads: old grinched during braking. Disassembly showed uneven wear. At the same time replaced the rear wheel bearing, in which there was already a fair backlash.

The largest trouble launched a grant for 89,900 km. In more than a hundred kilometers from Moscow, the engine suddenly lost its power and stalled, and attempts to start it were not crowned with success. In the rope, Lada proceeded to the technical center, where she was taken out of a disappointing verdict: a stubborn water pump cut off the teeth on the timing belt, the phases were shifted and the pistons met with valves. And after all, nothing foreshadowed troubles: the pulley of the pump was not the backlash, the alarming noise and whistles were not, and the belt was changed by 75,000 km.

The engine disassembly calmed down a little: only valves were injured. True, all eight. Pistons are intact, although they remained noted from a sudden meeting. It can be said, hazardous blood - I had to replace the valves, engineering caps, engine gaskets, pump and timing belt with a roller. Spare parts facilitated a pocket of about 8,000 rubles, and work performed on their own - on the side of the repair it would be worth eight thousand.

Judging by the reviews on the Internet forums, we are far from the only one with whom such trouble happened. And the culprit of the serious repair of the engine turned out again to the water pump failed. We will try to figure out what is the reason, and tell about it in the next reports.
