Patrol Y61 new. Should I buy a used Nissan Patrol Y61 series? Salon and equipment

His predecessor deserved the fame of the present SUV. Due to the high patency and reliability, these cars are very popular with lovers of various rally raids and pokatushek off-road. But our car can be infrequently seen in the Chronicles of the Competition Off-Road.

History
Nissan Patrol III generation 1979-1988 in.
01.88 Start
Nissan Patrol V generation (Y61) since 1997
Since 2010

Nissan Patrol - a real market long-lived - known since 1951 during the change of generations, it was constantly upgraded, but until the sixth generation did not change its basic principles: the full drive part-time drive with a plug-in and lower transmission, frame and bridges. And only y62 has changed dramatically

BODY

The first feature of Patrol (Y61) is represented by two modifications: 3-door with a "short" wheelbase (2400 mm) and a 5-door with a long base (2970 mm). Officially, we sell "5-doors", "3-doors" are extremely rare. During production, the model was restyled several times, and by the years the car can be divided into three periods: 1997-2003, 2003-2006. and from 2006 and until this time.

The body is installed on a powerful frame capable of withstanding serious loads when driving off road. Well, the first sign of the present off-Road we found. Body galvanized and corrosion are not afraid.

SALON

The salon of this model is very spacious and roomy: most versions - 7 seats. On the trunk, 2 folding seats were suspended. True, over time, their attachments are cleared, and when driving on the irregularities of "sidushki" is unpleasant. In addition, a driver's airbag can be punished. Although in general the interior is made of high-quality materials, and there is no comments to them.

We also note the good equipment of this SUV. Even in the basic version there are front and side airbag, ABS and Break Assist systems, central locking, immobilizer, climate control, heated front seats, parking areas of the front wipers, power windows, branded audio system with a 6-disk CD changer, alloy 17 -Wele wheels, power steering, adjustable steering column.

ENGINE

An old friend will not let Patrol (Y61), equipped with gasoline and diesel power units. We received the greatest distribution of more economical versions operating on diesel.

2.8-liter TDI is an upgraded motor that has been inherited from the predecessor. The mechanics of the brand hundred of any characteristic of its shortcomings could not be remembered. The only thing that should be taken into account is its timing belt is driven by a belt, which during operation requires replacement every 80 thousand km. All other engines applies a metal chain, which is, as a rule, to overhaul. The gas distribution mechanism of most aggregates is equipped with adjusting washers, although according to the operation of operation, the valve gaps accounted for only when the cylinder head is repaired.

There are no special complaints and gasoline engines that are much less common. The only remark is a significant fuel consumption (about 25 liters per "honeycomb" in the city cycle).

But the 3.0-liter turbodiesel has proven itself to the least reliable. So, on versions until 2006, the air flow meter (the symptoms - the "thrust" disappears). Later, the knot was upgraded, and he stopped disturbing. There are also damage to the oil pressure sensor in the pressure line and intercoule. The last problem is extremely dangerous - after a long ride on the track with a faulty intercooler, one of the pistons is often roasted. In this case, the fuel mixture is too enriched, which leads to an increase in the temperature mode of the engine. In addition, over time (due to wear of the TNVD), there are problems in the work of the fuel injection angle. There are also flows of oils from the sealing rings of the vacuum pump of the brake amplifier (it is repaired).

The hinged equipment belt tensioner in all engines on average is 60 thousand km.

The sign of this Off-Road is a four-wheel drive, however, here it is connected. Since the inter-axis differential is absent, then it is recommended to use four-wheel drive only on slippery coating, dirt roads or off-road. Otherwise, it threatens with accelerated wear of tires and transmission. Although the mechanics believe that the transmission is very strong and even if it is not so easy to "kill". Supplement the off-road arsenal model reduced transmission and forced blocking of the rear inter-track differential. The owners of Patrol (Y61) claim - the car has a high passability and confidently copes even with serious off-road.

TRANSMISSION

Transmission Patrol (Y61), as with all previous generations of the model, with a plug-in front.

After off-road pokatushek, it is necessary to clean the ball swivel fists of the front axle, otherwise the dirt can output the glands. Regular (every 15 thousand km) lubrication syringe requires crosses of a cardan shaft.

Patrol (Y61) was equipped with a mechanical and automatic KP. According to the mechanics, both aggregates are quite reliable. Only the clutch in turbo diesel versions due to insufficient performance of the vacuum hydroplaring amplifier works specifically - the pedal is squeezed with a noticeable effort, which creates inconvenience when driving in the city. But this is not a malfunction.

SUSPENSION

Looking under the car, even more convinced in its off-road orientation - the front and rear suspension Patrol (Y61) dependent - continued bridges together with springs are suspended on powerful levers. Their interchangeable silent blocks are kept more than 100 thousand km, Panar's thrust is supplied with "rubber bands". Long serve also native shock absorbers.

The only weak place of the rear suspension is the actuator mechanism for changing the rigidity and working stabilizer. Over time, he fails, which manifests itself in an unpleasant knock while driving. This node is about 20 thousand UAH. In order to save money, mechanics recommend instead to establish a conventional one-piece rack.

Nissan Patrol Series Y61 has been produced since 1997 for thirteen years. The most powerful frame, dependent suspensions with bridge beams, two-stage dispensing box with manual control ... Classical, still spent on the predecessor of the Y60 series design: there was almost no children's diseases of the speech. What about the senile?

They say, in silence, you can hear how the elderly rust screws the metal. This is about Patrol: Nonsense is not at the expense of the Nissan guarantee from end-to-end corrosion for him twice as early as six years. On the machines of the first years of release, corrosion is easiest to be found under overlays on wings, thresholds, pockets of the rear wheeled arches, as well as on the bottom of the body. The number platform on the frame is better to cover with anticorrosive: rust. And if the hood in the literal sense begins to open with the creak, do not be lazy to remove the bodybar in front of the windshield and lubricate the loop - throwing tightly, they will eventually break down.

The "blooming" elements of chrome finish were often changed in the warranty period. From dampness gets and electrician - a telescopic drive with an electric drive ($ 300) and the Motors of Brush Pharmaceutical Pharmaceutical Purifiers ($ 180) on the machines older than 2002 are rotating the connectors openly laid under the bottom of the wiring ...

On Russian roads, patrols with a gasoline engine are encountered infrequent (less than 8% of cars), but not at all due to problems with reliability. Machines with "six" TB45 (4.5 liters, 200 hp) were not officially sold from us (almost all of them from the Middle East), and the engine itself is weak for an SUV mass under 2.5 tons. Cars with a motor TB48 (4.8 liters volume, 245 hp) Since 2004, it was possible to buy new ones from the dealers, and there was enough power, but the consumption of gasoline is more than 30 liters per 100 km arranged.

Among the "Europeans" there are simple versions with a fabric interior, without climate control, with unpainted linings of the wheeled arches and on steel wheels, as well as short three-dimensions with a base of 2400 mm versus 2970 mm in the five-door version

Therefore, in Russia the most cars (up to 70%) - with a three-liter turbodiesel "four" ZD30DDTI sample of 1999. In the gas distribution mechanism, it has a strong and durable chain, the fuel pump ($ 5000) and the nozzles (for $ 200) are usually withstanding 200 thousand kilometers, and to the state of the turbocharger ($ 2000), it is necessary to carefully look closely after 150 thousand kilometers. But the fuel equipment is frequent in the control electronics problems, and for the repair of the worn rotary pump, it will take far from every workshop. The machines over 2006 are weak the mass flow sensor (when it fails, the machine loses power), and after 60-80 thousand kilometers it is necessary to change the tensioner of the attachment belt belt with the damper ($ 250). From the temperature drops into severe frosts, the oil collector's passenger plane is often breeding, which, however, is usually able to restore.

It is much worse that after 150 thousand kilometers can appear cracks in the alloy head of the cylinder block! And the new head ($ 2200) will also have to legalize in the traffic police: for some reason the engine number is knocked down. Many motors of the first years of release due to miscalculations in the design of the lubricant and cooling system (special nozzles feed oil on the bottom of the pistons) even with a slight decrease in the oil pressure or violations in the operation of the fuel equipment, pistons were rooted. So replaced by the guarantee engine from cars older than 2001 is a large bold plus when buying. Just keep in mind that both the final engines have the risk of a rogue of the piston still remained - almost completely defeated the problem only after the next modernization in 2005.

The legendary turbodiesel TD42T with a volume of 4.2 liters - sorry to meet it easier in the pictures than in life

The most common (and the most problematic) Patrol engine - three-liter turbodiesel ZD30DTI

In the first years of release, Nissan Patrol Y61 was equipped with a six-cylinder long-lived RD28T volume with a volume of 2.8 liters, which first appeared 30 years ago on the machines of the 160th series and except supplemented electronically controlled TNVD. The working at the limit 128-strong motor is inclined to overheating, and its long aluminum head block ($ 1300) - to deformation and cracking. Otherwise, not counting the smallests of the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR), a falconized electronic pressure regulator of the fuel and current after 150 thousand kilometers of the oltels of the crankshaft and gaskets of the oil pump and the oil cooler, everything is not bad. The fuel pump ($ 5000) is usually held at least 250-300 thousand kilometers, and then it can be sorted without any problems ($ 1000-1400). The turbochargedwood unit ($ 1200) withstands no less than 200 thousand kilometers, and at the neat hosts, on time, changing air filters and high-quality oil, and all 350-400 thousand kilometers. Do not forget only that in the timing belt - the belt, which is better to change for loyalty every 60-80 thousand kilometers: the consequences of his cliff are very crying.

But in a row "six" TD42 with a volume of 4.2 liters - neither a belt, nor even chains: instead of them - a gear drive, the existence of which many years can not be guessing. Oh, this motor is legendary since the 80s! They say the car is easier to sell with it than to torture. The playing engine overcomes the bar at half a million kilometers, and on patrols, its upgrade version of TD42T often lives to deep old age with a "native" turbocharger. Such endurance can boast only the motors of the 1Hz series on Toyota Land Cruiser cars (AR No. 1, 2010). It is a pity that finding Patrol with the "six" TD42 on the secondary market is an incredible luck. Officially, they were not sold from us, and rare specimens with the left steering wheel - very weakly opposing corrosion former "Arabs".

In the transmission - without deliveries: Primitive "part-time" (forcibly connected front axle) without inter-axis differential in the transfer box. The front can be connected only at low speeds and on slippery coatings - otherwise the first consumption will go the stretched chain in the dispensing box ($ 450).

Patrol came to us only in the five-door version and in rich equipment. Skin seats are rude, but it is distinguished by strength and abrasion resistance

In addition, the front hubs are connected by semi-automatic couplings (each cost $ 650), and on the heavy off-road mode AUTO is not enough for this - to the LOCK position they will have to be brought by manually using a balloon key. An entertaining exercise in the middle of a dirt road for the owner of the Sunshort SUV! But there is nothing to do - otherwise, the foresophy of the unforeseen expenses of the crunch in the hub will appear after 80-90 thousand kilometers. And for Patrol, because of the juli, the couplings did not become a rear-wheel drive forever, during each, you need to change the lubricant. By the way, the turning fists of the front bridge will also have to lubricate, and the slices of cardan shafts equipped with press oils. Then the cardans themselves ($ 1500) will serve more than 200 thousand kilometers - and the bearings of gearbox shanks will not pull.

But the main programs to finish very difficult. But do not forget at least time from time to time to use the rear axle blocking - otherwise the control electric valves of its pneumatic actuators are scattered from the inactivity.

Before storming off-road clutch, the front hubs have to be closed with a balloon key (they are blocked in the photo), and for their complete shutdown, you need to drive a couple of meters by reverse

The resource of mechanical transmissions is directly proportional to the volume of the engine, except for the clutch ($ 400-500) serves in all equally - up to 150-170 thousand kilometers. At the most "weak" box in a pair with the RD28T motor, the transmission starts to fly, and synchronizers hurt after 200-250 thousand kilometers. It is necessary to sort out it after 300 thousand kilometers ($ 800-1200). "Mechanics" in machines with a three-liter diesel engine are still more durable, and what is the repair of the manual manual transmission in patrols with a 4.2TD engine, the master seems to be not known at all.

And the life expectancy of automatic transmissions (they combined with any of the diesel engines and by default - with gasoline engines) directly depends on the operation: they usually do not require repair ($ 1500-2000) before 300 thousand kilometers, but a pair of "trophy-raid" departures easily It can sentence them to immediate repairs, and at the maximum - usually you have to change and burnt friction.

Without missing antenna mobility on the front wing in patrols older than three to five years - a rarity

Hung on the sides of the folding seats allow you to take another two people on board, but the volume of the trunk is noticeably reduced, and over time, they begin to creak squeakly fastenings

Suspension? Right - there is nothing to break there. But there is one but - the disconnected rear stabilizer of transverse stability. It seems that this device came up with marketers, and not engineers: the course of the back suspension of the patrol and so huge, and if there is a locking of the rear differential ... In a word, there is no sense from the device, and the trouble is full of mouth. That hinge on the left telescopic rack ($ 1000) will break, then the electric drive ($ 850) is aiming. After off-road exercises, a gentle mechanism must be cleaned of dirt and dirt. It is not difficult that after the first breakdown, many owners prefer to put an ordinary rack ($ 45), and then the stabilizer is removed at all, mirreered with the barely noticeable increase in rolls in turns - they say, not a racing car.

Otherwise - without surprises. Simple racks and bushings of stabilizers are enough for 40-70 thousand kilometers, but along with them lovers of off-road colleagues have to change the stabilizer itself ($ 250) - its rod is cleaned under the sleeves. Off-Road halved shortens the life of the shock absorbers ($ 150 front and $ 100 rear) - usually they run 130-160 thousand kilometers. Silent bearings suffer ($ 60), and non-discontinuities of the suspension springs ($ 220-260) because of the broken bunches of the unknown to those who do not move from the asphalt.

The usual case for Japanese cars - chrome finishes are unable to confront our road reagents

Silent blocks ($ 20-30) are usually wears 100-120 thousand kilometers, and they make it very quiet and unnoticed: in order not to detect the locations of their pressing in the levers (only panar traction, $ 180-200 are supplied), not be lazy From time to time to check the state of "rubber". With the same mileage, steering tips ($ 90) and thrust ($ 200-250) can surrender ($ 200-250), but to flow from a worm-type steering gearbox ($ 350 per bulkhead) only after 250-300 thousand kilometers.

In short, by the insensitivity and reliability of Nissan Patrol, it may well argue with a sample named Toyota Land Cruiser. That's just the "right" diesel engine TD42 in our day with fire you will not find. And the rest of the motors are or problematic, or voracious ... But Patrol at the age of four to five years is estimated in the amount of 1 million to 1 million 600 thousand rubles, and quite a "lively" twelve-year-old car is easy to find and at all for half a million. For comparison: Land Cruiser 100 in the same pointing age is more expensive for 200 thousand rubles, and the difference in the price of specimens of the specimens and reaches 700 thousand rubles at all.

The appearance of rust in place at the VIN number on the frame side carrier contributes to flying from under the right front wheel

It is not surprising that the posting connector of the rear lights suffers from corrosion

To change the sliding post of the rear stabilizer (in the photo) to the usual, you will have to finalize the platform for its mounting to the frame

The drum parking brake is located on a handout - riding with a tightened "handler" in addition to wear of the pad leads to overheating and destruction of the heel "Distribution"

For lubrication hidden hoods, you have to remove the panel under the windshield

The handle of the mechanical gearbox "Lysset" after 100 thousand kilometers, but the "mechanics" itself is very durable

From the rigid off-road driving, the steering damper is beaten or tears the "ear" from Panar traction

Under a huge, "eating" part of the wheel of a wheeled army with a lid a lot of empty place - in the Arab versions here the neck of the additional fuel tank with a capacity of 40 liters

Experts Autored about the car Nissan Patrol (AR No. 17, 2000)

Nissan bribes the scope: to get to the opposite door, you need to be a basketball player! Translations here have to switch, as on a truck, because the handle is located a little further from the driver and slightly higher than I would like. And the control lever "Distribution", on the contrary, stands to the driver closer.

The three-liter Nissanovsky turbodiesel is not bad. But why is there such a "short" transmission? The motor is instantly twisted to the maximum 4000 rpm, which corresponds to 32 km / h on the first gear and 56 km / h to the second. As a result, with urban ride, it is necessary to constantly wrap the box of the box, which is also characterized by large transverse movements. But the fifth gear is great for dynamic overtaking on the track - Patrol actively reacts to pressing the gas pedal in the range from 120 to 140 km / h. And on long straight arrow, the speedometer approaches 170! But ... Nissan's speedometer deceives the driver with rare cynicism, which inway the maximum speed is almost 20 km / h.

Especially without changing technically, the restyling appearance and the Patrol saloon worried twice - in 2003 and 2006. In the photo - the machine in the original form of the sample 1997

In the clutch drive, Nissan, we found a vacuum amplifier like those that are used in brake systems. Thanks to him, the effort on the pedals fell twice. But, alas, informativeness has significantly suffered.

Patrol is equipped with a rather rigid suspension. Therefore, despite the non-starning steering, the reaction to the rotation of the ram is clearer and faster here, and rolls are less than that of Prado and Pajero. But on an uneven road, hard Patrol constantly shakes, because of what the car is worse tracking the trajectory in turn. Spoils the picture and shortage of reactive action on the steering wheel.

And quite upset the Patrol smoothness. He is as tough as Discovery, reacts to large irregularities, but in addition, it is decently shaking passengers on the "trifles".

Opinion Opinion

Dormov Aleksey, 26 years, Moscow, Employee of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia

Nissan Patrol has been exploiting the sixth year - and even visited the expedition to Moscow-Magadan-Moscow. Then the month overcame 21 thousand kilometers, one third of which fell on ground roads. And all the troubles - burst into three parts of the front springs, because of which two thousand kilometers rode with the bridge lying on the bumps, and with each change of oil, after 7500 km, it was necessary to pull up the front hub bearings.

In the snowy near Moscow, winter is very convenient towing teachings - in the morning more than once had to go to friends stuck at their own homes, after the courtyard saving still half the yard. And in the frost in the patrol well: with two regular "stoves" their fans do not need to turn on high speeds. The suspension admires: never braking in front of the pit, but the silent blocks go up to 100 thousand kilometers.

As the experience of my experience and acquaintances showed, for the repair of the patrol, the services are taken away with eager, that's just many do it illiterately. For example, after brodes and mud baths, it is necessary to check the availability of water in swivel fists, hub and pivot bearings, bridges. The glands of the swivel fists often need to be changed, and when assembling - adjust the strips of tension in bearings. The operation takes about eight hours, and if you have done everything much faster, then most likely scattered.

Motor service is even worse: there are few "non-reprehension" in ZD30, which is able to check the thermal gap in the valves, although the operation is simple, requiring only adjusting washers. And for the TD42 motor, many details have to wait until the month - since it is the least problematic from all motors.

And the Patrol is good because much can be repaired and even in the field - even the clutch changes without a pit. By the way, when not the first replacement, do not forget to carefully examine the surface of the flywheel - it is covered with cracks (they can be seized, but it is better to replace the flywheel), and besides the clutch kit, immediately change the sealing covers and springs of the release bearing and forks. But if the crankshaft gland does not flow, it is better and not touched.

By the way, by experience, it is better to put original spare parts on Patrol, especially the glands. Yes, they are a little more expensive, but on the next repair you can forget for a long time.

Nissan Patrol, no doubt, a real Lady of Off-Road. And even the current fashion for the "PARTNERS", which better behave on the asphalt, rather than in the mud, could not change his "character". This SUV is made exactly according to the "classic" - a spar frame, dependent long-increasing pendants, a handout with a demultipator. Such cars are already infrequently found.

The latest generation of Patrol with the Y61 index, which appeared on the market in 1997, is much more than predecessors, oriented to comfort. For which the car's salon is made quite spacious, and in its equipment there is a large number of varied "frills". More often, cars presented in the secondary market have the richest configuration (in Russia, for example, simple Patrol and not sold at all).

It is surprising that almost all mechanics dealing with Nissan SUVs do nothing against Patrol Y61 brought from the Middle East countries: they do not have traditional in such cases with bad features, their equipment is always very rich, and the technical condition is usually pretty good. By the way, it is not necessary to be especially frightened and the SUVs who have passed through one or another refinement aimed at improving their off-road abilities.

A significant portion of Nissan Patrol Y61 have diesel engines under the hood. And there are several of them. The first time the car was equipped with a 2.8-liter 6-cylinder engine with turbocharging, developing 129 hp or 135 hp (for the Japanese market). In addition, there is a 4.2 liter diesel (145 hp or 160 hp), but it is usually found on vehicles originally intended for the countries of the Middle East or Japan. There is also a third engine feeding with a dielary, which appeared in 1999. Its volume is 3.0 liters, and the power of 158 hp

Gamma gasoline aggregates is just limited. This is either a 6-cylinder engine with a volume of 4.5 l with a capacity of 200 hp, or a 4.8-liter motor issued 245 hp Moreover, cars with the last power unit are officially supplied to Russia. The main disadvantage of gasoline engines is a fuel consumption, which even the economical driver is 20 liters per 100 km away from the city (and if you drive more or less quickly, then all 25-30 l). But for this they pay a worthy dynamics, which can not provide diesel engines (if there is a 245-strong motor, the maximum speed of Patrol is 190 km / h, and the overclocking time to "hundreds" takes 10.9 s - for such a large SUV, it is quite good indicators for such a large SUV ). If we talk about the reliability of gasoline engines, then these 6-cylinder engines with timely maintenance and use of decent fuel seems to be broken at all.

This is a resource!
Among the diesel engines the best one is considered the 4.2-liter unit. For him, a considerable consumption of diesel fuel is characterized (the same 20-25 l, as in gasoline engines) and a huge resource - it is capable of listening over 500 thousand km. And if you follow the recommendations of the manufacturer, on time to change the oil and give the engine to work a couple of minutes after the stop, the half-million mark will be able to overcome and turbine! In addition, the 4.2-liter diesel deserving the fame even on the previous generation of Patrol, it has good maintainability, it is easily "digesting" the middle quality diesel fuel and, moreover, does not have a timing belt (the drive there is gear and does not require maintenance). In general, Patrol Y61 with 4.2-liter diesel (internal designation TD42T) is an excellent purchase option. It should be remembered that the reverse side of stunning reliability will be mediocre dynamics.

Although cars with a 2.8-liter diesel seater will seem even more "sluggish". This motor, by the way, is criticized not only for lack of horsepower, but also for the average compared to a 4.2-liter diesel engine reliability and expensive spare parts. So, sometimes after run 150-200 thousand km here you need to change the turbine, which costs $ 1000. It happens that the gasket of the cylinder head burns, it happens that the "head" itself is brewed from overheating (in the latter case, it is not possible to polish it and have to buy a new one). The 2.8-liter diesel is more demanding on the quality of the fuel than its 4.2-liter "older brother", and the need to replace the nozzles here is not uncommon. In addition, cases of failure of the expensive high pressure fuel pump (TNVD) are noted, which costs more than $ 1000. Another not the best feature of a 2.8-liter diesel engine can be considered the presence of a timing belt, which, together with two rollers in Russian conditions, is best changed every 60 thousand km ($ 250 with work).

The 3-liter diesel looks clearly a better 2,8-liter. It is not only more powerful, but also more reliable. For example, in the gas distribution mechanism, the "eternal" chain is already used here, and the TNLD is much more reliable. Although there is one unpleasant feature - if the high pressure fuel pump of a 2,8-liter unit can be repaired, then it will not be possible on the motor with a volume of 3.0 l. And the new TNVD stands, by the way, $ 5000-6000! However, a 3-liter diesel, like all Patrol motors, including 2.8 liters, are very reliable and broken extremely rarely.

Gearboxes should be engines - cases of their repair are single. True, when maintaining the CP, masters sometimes have to tinker. For example, it is quite difficult to fill in the "automatic" oil, for which you need to spend a few hours, which is most negatively reflected in the cost of work. Yes, and the replacement of the clutch, especially with a 3-liter diesel engine, the pleasure is not cheap (non-original parts are $ 200-250 and the same work).

Only lubricant do not regret
When moving along asphalt, Nissan Patrol Y61 works only the rear-wheel drive. However, the driver can connect the front axle on the off-road, block the rear differential, "cut down" reduced transmission and, most interesting, turn off the rear stabilizer. It is a small shock absorber, which in the usual position is blocked by a special electromagnetic latch and does not affect the operation of the stabilizer (and it, in turn, reduces rolls in turns and has a positive effect on handling). But on the off-road stabilizer already interferes - the wheel earlier begins to hang. In this case, the driver of Nissan Patrol is enough to press the button in the cabin - and the electromagnet will free the cylinder rod, allowing him to move freely up-down. Thus, the wheel has an additional free course of 70 mm! All this provides Patrol amazing traffic. The disconnected stabilizer manifested itself as a rather reliable element, but if earlier the car often drove off the road, it can be worn out. And the replacement of the stabilizer will cost almost $ 1000!

As for the reliability of the full drive system, it is at a very high level. The only detail, from time to time fails, the front wheel hub couplings that the Patrol can work both in "manual" and automatically. If the driver behind them does not follow, they scribble. The hubs every 40-60 thousand km should be disassembled and re-lubricated - the same, by the way, concerns both swivel fists in the front bridge (all these works will cost $ 150-200). The remaining elements of the all-wheel drive transmission break extremely rarely, but when buying a car, check the performance of "dispensing", locks, etc. it is necessary.

Both pendants on Nissan Patrol dependent (rare, by the way, the case in modern automotive). However, in many respects, it is due to this reliability of the chassis as high. Moreover, not only when driving on a flat asphalt, but also when operating the car on off-road. Only racks and bushings of the stabilizer may require replacement after 60 thousand km, and then these details are not too expensive. Extremely rarely breaks and the steering (sometimes, however, after 100 thousand km, it is necessary to put new tips or even the thrust themselves - $ 70-100 in the first case and $ 200-300 in the second). The brake pads have a good resource, but sometimes they need to be changed after 15-20 thousand km, and in some cases, even together with sword-free disks. The set of pads costs $ 70-100, and the disc is $ 70 per piece. Although if the disk is damaged slightly, it can be swollen and put on the car.

Those who wish to buy Nissan Patrol should know that for frequent visits on the highway and the city, this car is not quite suitable. It is hard, difficult is controlled at high speeds, and the routine of the body is quite tangible. But for constantly traveling to the nature of Patrol - the perfect option. After all, this is a real uncompromising SUV, capable of overcome the most difficult areas.

EXCURSION
Nissan has extensive experience in creating SUVs. For the first time, the Japanese manufacturer began an assembly of such cars immediately after the last volunteers of the Second World War got races: in 1946, Nissan began to produce a copy of the famous Willys on its capacities. And in 1951, the Japanese had already made their changes to it and equipped not 4, but a 6-cylinder engine issuing 85 hp (The first time "Nissanovsky" Willys had 60 hp). It is the last car and received the name Nissan Patrol.

In 1960, Nissan released the Patrol of the so-called 60th series, externally similar to the American SUV and had a design similar to it. True, under the hood of the Patrol of the 60th series there was already a diesel 6-cylinder engine with a capacity of 4.0 liters with a capacity of 125 hp. or 135 hp This Patrol did a long time in a wide variety of options, including the elongated 8-seater machines.

The fundamentally new Nissan Patrol series 160 appeared on the market only in 1979. He became much more comfortable than his predecessors and was equipped with good gasoline and diesel engines. In 1983, Patrol appeared under the index 260, which represents the improved modification of Patrol 160.

In 1987, the Japanese showed further development of the theme of serious SUVs - the car of the Y60 series (for sale since 1988). Nissan Patrol has already received a spring suspension, although some modifications still remained stem. Under the hood of the SUV installed a 4.2-liter gasoline Motor V6, outstanding 160 hp, as well as diesel engines with a volume of 2.8 liters (115 hp) and 4.2 liters (124 hp or 145 liters. from.).

Nissan Patrol Y60 has proven itself as a very reliable car with great opportunities for off-road driving. All these qualities have retained and shown in 1997 Nissan Patrol Y61, often called "second GR" (more Patrol Y60 was designated as Grand RAID). The car has become much more comfortable and got a richly separated salon. However, while Patrol retained a frame structure with dependent suspensions. And besides ordinary for such an SUV "NAMPOSES" PATROL Y61, equipped with a unique shut-off rear stabilizer, thanks to which his permeability increased noticeably.

In 2004, restyling Patrol was held - the appearance of the car and the salon changed a little.

In the model line of Nissan, the off-road Patrol appeared back in 1951. And for almost 60 years, the principle of its design remained unchanged: a powerful spiner frame, dependent suspension wheels, a rigidly connected front axle and a lower transmission. The model has established itself reliable and unpretentious - they say "patrol" is easier to sell than to torture "to death." Therefore, the simple and condive Patrol from the third generation was widely used by UN peacekeepers and on expedition provision worldwide. And the fourth and fifth generation machines were used as the main vehicle in the Irish army. Moreover, from the third generation (1980-1994), Nissan Patrol began to be produced in a five-door body, and its production, except Japan, was established in Spain. At the fourth "patrol", which started in 1987, springs appeared instead of spring in the suspension, and the model began to be called Patrol GR (Grand RAID).

In the fall of 1997, he debuted Patrol Fifth Generation (Y61). Its design remained the same, and the main know-how was the "disconnected" rear stabilizer of transverse stability, which reduced the body rolls in turns, and outside the roads increased the suspension. In 2002 and 2004, Nissan Patrol has been restyled. And in 2010, sales of the sixth generation model with the Y62 index started, which is still manufactured.

Equipment

Our market presents mainly dealership Nissan Patrol, which were offered only in a five-door body. There are copies from Europe, African countries and the UAE, the main minus of which is a weak protection against corrosion. Officially, Patrol was supplied to us in expensive luxury and elegance equipment.

The initial performance of Luxury has absorbed ABS, electric drive glasses and side mirrors with heated, front and side airbags, cast discs (since 2004), climate control for the front and rear parts of the cabin. The armchairs are trimmed by velor, and the panels are separated by inserts "under the tree", but the control levers of the CP and transmission - genuine leather.

The Elegance version was supplemented with the servo drive of the front armchairs, a hatch in the roof, fog lights, cruise control, a multifunctional steering wheel and a CD changer on six disks. The interior was decorated with natural wood, and the seats are leather.

The All-wheel drive transmission of Patrol works in three modes: the drive to the rear wheels (2H), used on a solid coating, a four-wheel drive with a rigid front axle (4H), used on off-road or slippery road, four-wheel drive with lower transmission (4LO). In addition to the "Redeyak", you can forcefully block the rear axle (option).

Engine

In the motor range of Patrol Y61, only inline "six" was first used: 2.8 liters diesel (129 hp) and 4.2 liters (125 and 145 hp), as well as gasoline 4.5 l (200 L.S.). Since 2000, Turbodiesel R6 2.8 has replaced the 4-cylinder volume of 3.0 liters (158 hp), and from the 2004th gasoline engine has grown to 4.8 liters (245 hp). We sold Patrol with turbodiesels R6 2.8 l and R4 3.0 l, and after restyling 2004, a gasoline "six" was added 4.8 liters.

The six-cylinder turbodiesel is inclined to overheating, which is why its long aluminum head block (repair - from 35,000 rubles) is deformed and cracks. Over time, the seals of the crankshaft shall flow, the exhaust gas recycling valve is clogged with EGR. But the high-pressure fuel pump withstands up to 300 thousand km. Its repair will cost 25,000 rubles. The new node costs from 130,000 rubles. Turbocompressor (32,800 rubles) in caring owners "lives" to 400 thousand km. But the timing belt is desirable to change one and a half times more often than the prescribed regulations in 90 thousand km.

At the most mass engine Nissan Patrol - 3-liter "four" ZD30DDTI - in the drive of the gas distribution mechanism, the durable and durable chain, which does not require attention to 200 thousand km. As a rule, the soverage serve the pump (from 125,000 rubles) and the injection nozzles (5300 rubles), and the turbocharger (from 50,000 rubles) holds even longer. About 80 thousand km is reacted by the tensioner of the drive belt (from 6500 rubles.). On many engines from the first batch, pistons were rooted. There were constructive miscalculations in their lubricant and cooling system (on the bottom of the pistons, special nozzles were served oil). On this occasion, there was even an revocable action, and the motors changed under warranty. Fully the problem was solved only after 2005. Then there were more durable and mass flow sensors (from 4500 rubles), which before that were the headache of the Patrol owners.

An inline 4.2-liter "six" is the legendary motor. It carries up to 600 thousand km, and this is not the limit. Perhaps there is no weak places at all. Even in the TRG drive - a set of gears, the so-called guitar. And the turbocharger (from 50,000 rubles), as a rule, dies with the engine. Only here on the secondary market a modification with such an aggregate is difficult to find - usually these are machines from Arab countries.

Gasoline R6 is also reliable, but are voracious. And the power of the 4.5-liter does not always happen enough.

Transmission

Mechanical 5-speed gearboxes, depending on the engine running with them, a different service life is released. With a 6-cylinder turbodiesel, the overhaul of the MCP (from 20,000 rubles) will be needed closer to 300 thousand km. A more durable manifested itself "mechanics", aggregative with a 3-liter turbodiesel. Repairing it (23 000-35,000 rubles) may need 400 thousand km. But the "manual" box combined with a 4.2-liter diesel engine will, as a rule, will be asked to rest along with the engine, and far over half a million km.

With all turbodiesels, the clutch knot (12,000-15,000 rubles) serves the same long time - 150 thousand km is guaranteed, and often more. With the second replacement, pay attention to the flywheel (from 11,000 rubles). If there are burdens and cracks, it is advisable to update it, otherwise after a couple of tens of thousand km, I still have to change it and pay it twice for the same work.

The four-band "automatic" was offered as an option with any of the diesel engines, and the Patrol gasoline modifications were installed standard (since 2004 - 5-speed automatic control). It is also durable to repair (from 40,000 rubles) withstands 300 thousand km. But frequent driving off-road kills him before.

In order for automatic transmissions to live safely to deep old age, and this is about 300-320 thousand km of run, it is recommended to change oil in them (from 8000 rubles) every 90 thousand km. And after active participation in off-road raids, it is advisable to carry out a complete revision of the ACP.

And if in 4x4 mode it is constantly, the chain is quickly pulled out (from 15,000 rubles) in a transfer box. It is necessary to monitor the semi-automatic couplings that connect the front axles. First, you need to change the lubricant in them at each, and secondly, on the off-road coupling (20,000 rubles), "they are punishable" manually, otherwise they will be destroyed to 100 thousand km. Moreover, the transmissions are also lubricated the rotary fists of the front bridge and the slots of the cardan shafts. Otherwise, there was a period of 200 thousand km - you will have to update the cardanis (40,000 rubles) and the bearing of gearboxes of gearboxes.

Chassis and body

In the dependent Nissan Patrol suspension, it is especially broken and nothing. Even the racks and bushings of the stabilizer (from 3000 rubles. On the circle) is enough for 50-60 thousand km. Shock absorbers (front - 4200 rubles., Rear - 2900 rubles) withstand up to 120-150 thousand km. But frequent off-road pokatushki reduce the service life of these parts in one and a half or twice. In addition, the rod itself (6500 rubles) of the stabilizer itself (6500 rubles) of the stabilizer, and the springs are bursting (5800 rubles). After 100 thousand km dying, Silent-blocks of levers (500 rubles). And Panar's thrust (from 5000 rubles) changes only in the collection - its gums with hinges are not sold separately. A lot of complaints deserved a disconnected rear stabilizer, which is quickly divided by the left telescopic rack (about 25,000 rubles) or the Handrite of its servo (20,000 rubles). Therefore, it is usually not changed, but removed at all. After all, special advantages on off-road and on the track before the usual adjustable stabilizer does not give.

In the steering control to 120-130 thousand km wears the thrust (5900 rubles) and their tips (2300 rubles). But the worm reducer itself flows only closer to 300 thousand km. The bulkhead will cost 10,000 rubles.

Patrol's body is not distinguished by high corrosion resistance - on early machines, a point rust on the fifth doors, thresholds, wings and rear wheel arches is already getting out. And even on the frame. Wax hood loops - they need to be periodically lubricated, but to get to them, you have to remove the panel in front of the windshield. And the chrome details begin to "bloom" on three or four-year-old copies.

After a few years of Russian operation, a telescopic antenna zats (7500 rubles). Motors of brush headlight cleaners are quickly surrendered (4500 rubles), as well as connectors and wiring connections - it is poorly protected from dirt and moisture.

Modifications

The three-door version of Nissan Patrol was not officially supplied to Russia. And those rare copies that are presented in our market, as a rule, were taken from Europe. Meanwhile, compared with the five-year-old, a short car has better geometric patency due to a smaller wheelbase, for which the avid "Jeprei" is appreciated. Therefore, if you caught the desire to purchase this particular option, it is advisable to order it in the old world, where such modifications are quite a lot. And most importantly - most of them are in good condition.

The publication

Externally, the Nissan Patrol 1998 model year was highlighted by powerful square fangs on the front bumper and brush wipers of headlights. Officially, the car was sold in Russia with a diesel "six" with a volume of 2.8 liters (129 hp), which combined both mechanical and automatic transmission.

The history of the well-known brand of the popular Nissan Patrol SUV begins with the mid-50s, the first Japanese jeep with this name was represented by the world in the early September 1951.

For all the production of the concern from Japan, six generations of the car of this brand were created from Japan, and Nissan Patrol 5 truly became a bestseller in the SUV class.

A bit of history

Each model of the car produced in its original body is assigned an index, the fifth generation of a full-sized SUV received an abbreviation Y61.

For the first time, this model appeared in the public at the very end of 1997, it was presented at the Motor Showing in Frankfurt.

Although the car in this body began to produce quite a long time, it was still sold for the market of some Asian countries for a long time, Nissan Patrol Y61 was produced until 2013 in parallel with the last, sixth generation.

Its characteristic features - dependent suspension, frame structure of the body and a distribution with a demultiplier, a car with such features of the design in our time is already occurring.

Initially, the assembly of the model was carried out in Japan, but in 2000 it was discontinued.

In 1998, the release of the car was established in Spain, and in the 1999th - in the Philippines, then Nissan Patrol began to produce in South Africa and Pakistan.

In 2004, the "invariant of the off-road" was restyled, according to the tradition of change, the exterior was touched upon, and the car has been upgraded:

  • both bumpers;
  • rear lights;
  • head optics;
  • radiator grille.

Some changes also occurred in the model range of power units, the Japanese all-terrain vehicle received a new gasoline engine 4.8 liters.

The main production of Nissan Patrol 5 was discontinued in 2010, and the cars were versed from Arab Emirates to Russia, the assembly was carried out until the end of 2012.

External appearance and types of body

The body of all Patrol cars of early releases had angled rectangular forms, and only in the appearance of the 5th generation machine there was some roundness.

But the SUV initially intended for the armed forces, all early retained the army stepper, and in its harsh appearance it is possible to guess that it is not afraid of swamp alive and snow-covered country roads.

Respectants deserve the impressive sizes of the Japanese "passing", its length in the 5-door version is 5080 mm. There are no large sinks on the body, so the all-terrain vehicle can easily overcome very cool descents and lifts, cross the watery obstacles to a depth of 0.7 m.

On the bottom of the doors, wide plastic moldings are installed, and the wheel arches are protected from the mud flying with plastic decorative linings.

Also, Nissan's automotive company produced Patrol with a short base in the 3-door version, the length of a short-passage car - 4395 mm.

Total different types of y61 bodies there are several, it is:

  • Van (cargo-passenger version);
  • four- and two-door pickup;
  • Station Wagon (Universal Type Body);
  • Hardtop (auto with removable hard riding).

The solidity in the appearance of the car is combined with the reliability of the model, let the design of the SUV is not exquisite, but this "tank" will not let down on the road.

Nissan patrol configuration

For Russia, the Y61 Arab assembly patrol comes in two main equipment: elegance and luxury, with a mechanical or automatic gearbox, a diesel engine 3.0 or a gasoline engine 4.5 liters (after restyling 4.8 liters).

In all embodiments, only four wheel drive is envisaged, luxury includes:

  • central locking;
  • braking assistance system;
  • power windows,
  • fog lights integrated into the front bumper;
  • electrozerkala.
  • climatic installation in the cabin;
  • CD changer;
  • front seats with electric drive.

The feature of the Nissan Patrol design is the rear stabilizer, disconnected to improve the off-road charts of the car.

In the configuration "Elegance", the car looks solid, in addition to those listed, it has additional options:

  • electric hatch on the roof;
  • leather seats and steering wheel;
  • driver chair with electric drive;
  • xenon;
  • salon inserts under the tree;
  • cruise control;
  • subwoofer.

In all embodiments, four airbags are installed on the Y61 patrol: front passenger and driver, two side airbag.

Engines Nissan Patro

Although only three types of engines are presented for the Russian market, in total in the model range of Patrol-5 there are six types of DVS:

  • gasoline 6-cylinder - 4.5 and 4.8 l (TB45E and TB48DE);
  • diesel 6-cylinder - 2.8 (RD28ET) and 4.2 L (two models - TD422 and TD42T3);
  • diesel 4-cylinder - 3.0 l (ZD30D).

The gasoline 4.5-liter power unit has a capacity of 200 horsepower with a maximum torque of 348 nm.

This six-cylinder engine is in line, with a distributed fuel injection, a 12-valve.

The engine is designed to work with the 95th gasoline, but can "digest" and AI-92.

The engine itself is very reliable, but it has a significant drawback - a great fuel consumption. The real consumption of fuel on the track is 16-18 liters, in the city - up to 25 l / 100 km.

Motor TB48DE - 245-strong, six-cylinder, inline, with a torque of 400 nm. Up to one hundred kilometers per hour, DVS allows the car to accelerate for 10.8 seconds, to drive with a maximum speed to 190 km / h.

In terms of reliability, there are no complaints about this power unit, but the consumption of gasoline with it is even more: on the highway - 14.3 liters, in the city - 25 l / 100 km (real consumption comes up to 30 liters).

The turbocharged diesel engine ZD30D 3.0 l with direct fuel injection has good traction characteristics, allows you to overclock the car up to 160 km / h, recruit "hundred" in 16.3 seconds.

Motor power - 160 liters. p., Maximum torque at 2000 rpm - 354 nm. But with sufficiently decent for diesel, the DVS characteristics is not distinguished by high reliability, primarily the CHC is out of order.

The main reason for the breakdown is the engine overheating, which occurs as a result of the coolant leakage, and this is a characteristic disease of Nissan patrol 3.0 l.

Transmission

The Japanese SUV Patrol 5 generation (1997-2010 release) is equipped with four types of PPC:

  • 4 and 5-speed automatic transmission;
  • MCPP-5 in two modifications - FS5R30A and FS5R50B.

The mechanical transmission goes to a pair only with Turbodiesel 3.0 TD, also with a diesel engine is placed 4-st. Automatic box.

The five-speed automatic transmission is available in the Elegance equipment with a gasoline engine 4.8 liters.

Nissan gearboxes on these cars break rarely, most often the repair of Nissan Patrol is necessary if the machine has been exploited long enough under hard off-road conditions.

On the "mechanics" from frequent slipping, the lining of the clutch disk, and are mainly to blame for malfunctions arising in the transmissions, the car owners themselves.

For bad roads and passing various obstacles, it is better to choose a car with manual transmission, such a machine is more adapted to harsh road conditions.

Bridges Nissan Patrol is not permanent, constant is the drive to the rear wheels, the front axle is connected forced. Moreover, it can be connected only at low speed - the inter-axis differential is not provided here.

On the front wheels are equipped with hubs that are automatic, semi-automatic and mechanical.

The last type of hubs is very reliable, but to connect the front axle, the driver with such a design has to leave the car every time.

On the restyled version, mechanical hubs have not yet been set, and the need to manually change the transmission regimes disappeared.

Chassis

Both suspension on an SUV - dependent, the design is very simple, and there is almost nothing to break here. The most vulnerable place is the rear retractable stabilizative racks of the disconnected stabilizer.

Brakes on both axes disc, and brake discs are all ventilated.

In the early versions of the car, Nissan patrol suspension was spring, in the version Y61 springs have already become installed.

But such a design solution made a rigor of a non-mineral machine: when moving along the uneven road, passengers in the car thickens, and it is difficult to deal with it somehow.

Body

Iron on the body at the SUV is not thin, you do not sell it with your finger. But the appearance of rust on paintwork - the phenomenon is not rare, especially often corrosion occurs under the moldings of the side doors, on the wheeled arches, on the lower edge of the trunk door.
