5. Selection of lubricants

Oil M-8-g 2 and M-10-g 2 Used according to B.as winter and summer for highly functionated diesel engines. Contain additives (detergents, antioxidative, anti-corrosive and anti-oxidic) in an amount of from 7 to 12%.

TM-3-18 transmission oil (TAP 15B) is all-season oil for straight, spiral conical and worm gears. Used at temperatures to -25 s.

7. Physico-chemical properties of transmission oils

The conditions for the operation of transmission oils differ from the motor as follows:

the gears operate under boundary friction conditions;

they must maintain performance at temperatures from -50 to 50 ° C;

their working time is longer;

they must reduce vibration and noise level.

Seamless transmissions operate with high specific pressures in the places of teeth contacts (600-1200 MPa, and in hypoids up to 4000 MPa), high speeds of sliding surfaces (3-10 m / s, in hypoid and worm gearboxes - up to 20 m / s) and high, about 300-800 ° C, temperatures at the points of contact of gear wheels. The oil temperature in transmission aggregates reaches 120-150 ° C. Under these conditions, the most frequent boundary friction regime is observed. Therefore, transmission oils must have high anti-wear and anti-promotional properties, so they contain a significant amount of natural surfactant resinous substances and special anti-wear and anti-plasive additives.

The lower temperature limit for the use of transmission oils ensures the touch of the machine from the place and the subsequent transition to increased transmissions without preheating oil in aggregates. In the summer, the temperature in the heat in the transmission crankcases reaches the maximum values, which predetermines the choice of the minimum allowable viscosity of the oil that does not cause it leaks through looseness.

In addition, the transmission oils must have good anti-corrosion properties and form a minimum amount of foam, which is solved by the selection of the corresponding oil base and the addition of additives.

7.1. Classification of transmission oils and their designation

According to GOST 17479.2-85, transmission oils are divided into viscosity classes (Table 3), and depending on operational properties are divided into five groups that determine the scope of their application (Table 4).
