Great Wall Hover "Bet on Diesel (Wingle, Hover)". Great Wall Hover H5 - an alternative version of the UAZ Patriot On the video - test Great Wall Hover H5

The Great Wall Hover H5 review was written solely for the sake of identifying the weak and, which is so similar to its brother with the H3 index, that you can't guess right away. Except that only on the closest approach, when you look at the lights, the tailgate of the Great Wall Hover, the stamp under the license plate and the location of the emblem. And then, as a scientist who has come across an ancient historical manuscript or a hunter who smelled game, you are impatiently waiting for someone who will either enjoy all the advantages of a new car engine, or be disappointed with another stamping by the manufacturer.

Thorough analysis of the Great Wall Hover model

And the first thing to strive for when analyzing a new modification of a certain automobile is a comparison with a past and similar model. In any case, there are clearly more artifacts in front of the new Great Wall Hover. Unlike its brother with a deliberately brutal face, the Wall Hover H5 crossover has a much softer and more modern disguise, similar to the Mazda CX-7, and, of course, the engine of the new Great Wall Hover deserves a separate discussion.

As for the interior, the twins are indistinguishable.

Everything is virtually identical. From the views of the driver and passengers, neither the chaotic general combination of plastics of different textures, nor the frightening appearance of the manual transmission poker, nor the absence of hooks for clothes will hide. Although these are all small things, the unpleasant sediment is already starting to accumulate. But still, after several days of living together with Great Wall Hover, you begin to understand that the Chinese managed to give the interior a little solidity.

We look under the hood. There is a 2.4-liter engine from Mitsubishi of 136 hp, familiar to all owners of Eytreks and Outlander. with.

But the developers of the new crossover added 10 Nm of torque, and the Great Wall SUV, together with the engine, automatically entered the Euro-4 standards. But it is not yet known whether the green collar, as some skeptics call the new environmental standards, will allow one to safely carry such a colossus weighing two tons.

Even the assembly of all parts: small, medium and large, is very solid. Nothing and nowhere creaks, which is very pleasing.

There were also no rattles or so-called crickets during the ride.

In short, the salon meets all the requirements. The view looks great, because of the high landing. But, however, the rear-view camera does not have a distance scale, and this is a minus. But the instrument panel is very convenient, on which fairly large and easily perceived icons are distinguished.

The ergonomics of the car are also at their best, which we put in the piggy bank of pluses. Various "twists", buttons and are always at hand.

Video review of Great Wall Hover H5:

Upholstery

Used in Great Wall Hover H5, in addition to textile upholstery, there is also a leather version. This is done not only for the sake of prestige, as the designers assure, but in terms of banal practicality. The Chinese are thoughtful people, and they guessed before the Europeans that children, getting into a car, stain the fabric upholstery. After the outings to nature loved by all family members, such upholstery is sent straight to the dry-cleaner, because velor, for example, is not so easy to wash on your own. So the developers from the Celestial Empire decided to produce leather interiors. Wipe it with a rag - and that's it!

The specifications above for the Great Wall Hover H5 do not include the high seating comfort of the Chinese SUV. They are as well made as they are comfortable. All the necessary adjustments work easily, but still there is a small minus. The seats, even those that are raised all the way, are placed low from the floor. But the Chinese cannot be blamed for this. They probably didn’t count on tall people, whose legs would often become numb with such seats.

But the uncomfortable seats in this regard on the Great Wall Hover H5 are only in the front, and in the back everything is still spacious, as on the H3. And even with the front seats pushed all the way back. All this, along with the high ceiling, turns the car and driving it into a comfortable pastime for people taller than 180 cm.

After all, the Chinese took into account the growth of the Europeans.

As for the trunk of the car, it is quite full-weight - 810 liters, and a rug with a curtain is included in the kit.

Chassis Great Wall Hover H5

Well, now the most important thing is the chassis of the SUV, which is finally in store as a dessert.

Engine

Unlike the younger brother of the H3, which is equipped with an outdated and nondescript two-liter gasoline engine from Mitsubishi, the Hover H5 has a completely different engine.

They are installed on the Great Wall Hover H5 SUVs as a two-liter turbodiesel engine with 150 hp. with. with "automatic" and mechanics, as well as a gasoline 2.4-liter, 136 hp. with. with mechanical transmission.

If everything is more or less clear with the gasoline version, after all, many reviews have been written on the Hover H3, let's dwell on diesel modifications with automatic transmission.

The Great Wall Hover H5 is equipped with a modern four-cylinder engine of the latest GW4D20 series. It can be stated openly that an engine of this power is entirely GW's own development. So, with a working volume of two liters, like the Hover H3, the engine is capable of squeezing out 150 horsepower at four thousand revolutions per minute! But that's not all. The very design of the motor, although familiar to many, has a number of nuances. And the price of the Great Wall Hover H5 is much higher than that of the H3, because of this too.

For example, a four-valve with a variable-length intake manifold deserves special attention. The Delphi Common-Rail fuel supply system has an injection pressure of 1800 bar, which is very good. And the excellent turbocharger made by BorgWarner allows the new Chinese SUV to achieve a slight advantage over some European and Japanese models. And if you add here also the new possibilities of torque equal to 310 Nm at 2800 rpm, everything becomes clear. Such indicators are by as much as 110 Nm higher than the gasoline analogue, which has an engine capacity of 2.4 liters and a power of 136 liters. with. Agree, not bad, right?

In addition to the turbodiesel, the N5 has a new automatic transmission with the 5R35 index. It was not developed by the Chinese themselves and was completely copied from the version of the Korean products Hyndai Powertech - a five-stage hydromechanical unit that allows you to manually change gears.

The Chinese had to change the gear ratios in the main pairs of bridges under the "automatic". For gasoline engines, as you know, they were 4.22 and were slow-moving, but for diesel engines it is already necessary to install high-speed pairs with a number of 3.9. And accordingly, the maximum speed increased from 160 km / h to 170 km / h.

Also not bad. For all cycles, the gasoline version showed 10.7; 8.2 and 9.4 liters, respectively, for urban, suburban and mixed traffic. For a diesel engine, these indicators are equal to 8.9; 7.6; 8.4. Impressive, right ?!

Although on real races, the average consumption was not so small - almost 12 liters per 100 km. But the driver also needs to get used to the new engine.

Great Wall Hover H5 - new, diesel - displays a highly controversial conceptual solution. So, he does not have a downshift and what is very strange, the Chinese do not say anything about this. For any SUV, the presence of a "lower" is a prerequisite, but in this particular case it is, of course, a minus.

Another surprise is the handout. Instead of the usual and already respected part-time scheme by all motorists, the Chinese have resorted to the help of BorgWarner. such a modification is very controversial for use, especially in Russian conditions. In this case, a rigidly connected front axle is preferable. As for the case of the transfer case, it is aluminum and very flimsy. The torque to the rear wheels is not transmitted directly, but through an electromechanical clutch. In short, here the Chinese developers are clearly too clever.

Video - test Great Wall Hover H5:

Maybe for frameless cars, which even a dirty little puddle seems to be an obstacle, this is quite suitable, then for a brutal and powerful SUV, which, in fact, the Great Wall Hover N5 should become, is nonsense.

We display the pluses:

  • the appearance of the Great Wall Hover SUV, which has become much better;
  • full compliance with Euro-4 standards;
  • high technical characteristics of the diesel engine and automatic transmission;
  • power and easy overcoming of obstacles on the road.

And cons:

  • chaotic placement of plastic around the cabin;
  • unattractive manual transmission knob;
  • inconvenient seat adjustment, especially the driver's;
  • weak agility from the spot.

In conclusion, we draw a summary: an SUV is quite acceptable as a novelty. It has a lot of modern parts and systems. But still, the Chinese have not yet reached perfection in terms of the general compliance of all parameters.

I give a universal recipe for enlivening a conversation in a bored company of motorists. Just ask, "How do you like the 'Chinese'?" I guarantee that the dispute about the merits and demerits of cars from the Middle Kingdom will drag on for a long time. And if it comes to buying a used car - even more so!

OLD NEW YEAR

In the June issue of ZR for 2010, Yuri Timkin tested the new Great Wall-Hover N5 in his historic homeland. Well, like new ... Structurally, this is an "Isuzu" sample of the early 2000s. Yuri then noted that the desire of the Chinese to stylistically embellish the body and the interior of the Japanese donor prevailed over the desire to engage in driving performance. However, in its native, Chinese market, the Hover N5 was in the top 25 most popular off-road vehicles, and this, as the author suggested, was a good bid not to get lost with us.

Later, "khovryusha", as he was affectionately nicknamed in Russia, in addition to gasoline engines, acquired a 2-liter turbodiesel, and in addition to a manual transmission, a five-speed "automatic" was offered in a pair to a diesel engine. And since 2011, the N5 has been assembled from us, and the Chinese are not looking for easy ways: previously the body was welded and painted in Cherkessk, and now - in the Lipetsk region, the assembly is in Gzhel near Moscow.

SECOND WIND

For acquaintance, I found a silver "Great Wall" born in 2011 with a 150-horsepower 2-liter turbodiesel and an automatic transmission. For a car assembled in Russia and with a mileage of 42,000 km they asked for 698,000 rubles. Expensive? Perhaps it is adequate for the market. Prices for the restyled 2011 H5 start at 500,000 rubles - this is how much they ask for a basic petrol modification with a manual transmission. And the diesel-automatic version is much more expensive, and many are looking for it - with the "automatic", it is more convenient to live!

If at first the Great Wall company grew its engines from licensed Mitsubishi engines, then the Chinese announced this turbodiesel as a product of their own design. Although they do not hide the fact that they were helped by the engineers of the Bosch company.

The turbodiesel is aggregated either with a six-speed manual transmission or with a five-speed automatic transmission. The combination of a diesel engine with an “automatic” is a rare case for Chinese cars, which is why we have our eyes on this H5. "Automatic" 5R35 - adaptive, it is supplied by the company "Hyundai Mobis" (Hyundai Mobis, "daughter" of the concern "Hyundai Motor"), although many sellers are not dreaming about it.

The salon flaunts a pseudo-skin on which you sweat quickly. The front seats are heated.

A few words about appearance. In the design of the front part, Mazda motives are felt. Such a face is more fun than the dull chrome strips of the dorestyling "Hover H3" a la old "Logan". There are LEDs in the taillights, now it is fashionable.

Another plus of this instance is the 17-inch alloy wheels and almost new all-season tires, including the spare wheel. Considering how much a tire of this size costs, the seller is giving a gift.

The car has no visible external flaws. The body is not galvanized, but in the past three years the car has not been covered with red sores. The corrosive misfortune has bypassed the vending car also because the former owner took care of the anticorrosive: here they are, thick streaks of Movil.

The austere interior is perfectly preserved, not even scuffs to be seen. The driver's seat is servo-adjustable - beauty! But the landing can scare off a potential buyer. Like most frame ATVs from Asia, she comes from the eighties: legs are stretched out, as if you are sitting in a compartment. This is because the seat cushion height is minimal. The same problem with the back sofa. At the same time, there is no special reserve above the head. Tall people will not be pleased with such seats.

In the slender ranks of off-road vehicles of the secondary car market, more and more cars from China began to come across. Are they worth the money they ask for? We decided to take a closer look at the Great Wall Hover H5.

In addition, the touch screen of the monitor of the audio system shows the picture from the camera when reversing. Climate control? There is. It is no frills, but still it is a "climate", not a worker-peasant air conditioner. But there is no cabin filter: is the atmosphere in China cleaner than in Russia?

And most importantly: over the years, a persistent chemical smell disappeared from the car, which, I remember, was complaining about Yuri.

SPIN THE OX

When buying a used off-road vehicle, an inspection from below will tell a lot about its general technical condition. We drove the H5 onto the lift, and the gaze opened up to an almost virgin bottom - without dried pieces of clay and grass in the open cavities of the frame. This means that the car was driven mainly in the city, he did not see any serious off-road. And this is understandable: the diesel version does not have a full-fledged transfer case with a lowering row.

The transmission of torque to the front wheels is handled by a chain-driven Borg-Warner single-speed transfer case, a lightweight TOD (Torque-On-Demand) all-wheel drive system. Depending on the selected mode, the car can be either rear-wheel drive, or all-wheel drive "on demand" - when the distribution of torque between the axles is controlled by an electromagnetic clutch. Moreover, the main pairs in the bridges are longer, road ones: the gear ratio is 3.9 versus 4.22 for cars with a manual transmission. All this translates such an H5 from the rank of uncompromising all-terrain vehicles to the category of crossovers.

Is the powertrain problem-free? From the side of servicemen, there are no special complaints about the GW 4D20 motor. It has a common rail battery injection (model CRS 3.2) and a Borg-Warner BV43 variable displacement turbocharger - like modern European diesels. As for the turbo lag in the range from 1800 to 2000 rpm, well known to owners of diesel "hovers", I did not notice it on this car. It is possible that the engine control unit was reflashed by the owner.

General inspection pleased. Perhaps for the first time I met a car on the secondary market that is completely ready for use and does not require any financial investments. A short test drive confirmed this: neither the suspension nor the body made any extraneous noise (if anyone has forgotten, it rests on a powerful spar frame). The Hover stepped over the asphalt bumps with greasy tire spanks. Even when empty, he strove to dance in the most innocent turns, throwing the stern in the manner of an unbroken horse. However, our people have learned to deal with this too, choosing shock absorbers with different characteristics. And in general, riding habits are no worse and no better than those of other frame compatriots.

TOTAL

A completely fresh Chinese SUV for 700,000 rubles is not for nothing, but I am ready to call the price adequate. Turbodiesel, "automatic", excellent condition. It looks like the initial build flaws have mostly been fixed. Of the obvious advantages, a modest consumption of diesel fuel can be noted: if you do not drive, it turns out about 9 liters per hundred.

The target audience of the used diesel "Hover" is summer residents who have moved from domestic all-terrain vehicles. They will appreciate the high-torque diesel engine, automatic transmission, extremely simple four-wheel drive control, solid ground clearance (almost 240 mm), front torsion bar suspension with a high margin of safety, climate control and a decent trunk volume. There are enough spare parts and service stations for the "Hover", but the "Chinese" breaks down unlike his Russian colleagues in the shop. The main thing is that the work should be within his power.

We are grateful to the Formula 91 supermarket for help in preparing the material.

Hello dear readers! I decided to contribute my five kopecks for the Great Wall Hover H5 and write down my impressions of this car here. The events described began their report in 2013, so many of the statements can already be revised.

So. In early spring, or late winter 2013, a seemingly simple task arose: to replace the second family car - a Chevrolet Niva for trips to construction sites (work), villages, nature and areas where asphalt is not always a priori, so to speak. At the same time, there was a desire to get not just a state-of-the-art SUV, but also a certain amount of comfort.

Choice. Initially, they did not look in the direction of Hover, but looked at used crossovers / SUVs of 08-09. up to 800,000 rubles. Everything was sad: Outlander, X-Trails, Tiguanas and others like them disappeared by themselves due to the lack of off-road potential, and they are all too small.

For the same reason, Duster dropped out, and the new Niva was not considered in principle. Korean Sorento and Sportage could have given a ride, but there were no normal options on the secondary housing, and there was no desire to sell wool on the market for six months.

Pajero Sport I is too archaic, but the wonderful L200 pickup has disappeared because it is a pickup. Conversations about Hover, I noticed, are accompanied by conversations about UAZ and I have something to say, I'll tell you now.

Why not UAZ. UAZ Patriot is an excellent SUV, no doubt about it. My father gave me one case: the director bought a short Gelenvagen for hunting / fishing from them and once flooded to test it in a field measured by snow. A diesel UAZ pulled it out of there.

However, the same UAZ, before becoming a cool car, the owner courted himself for six months, and what he himself could not - in the service. After six months and a lot of investments, he received a car that I would not mind seeing in my garage.

Six months to suffer, making a normal car out of it! Are you seriously!? Have you seen crash tests? The body breaks off the frame and flies forward, killing the driver with the steering column, and the passenger just about the torpedo, and this at a speed of 54 km / h against the deformable barrier.

They say, of course, that both the quality and the level of security are growing, but they are reluctant to check on themselves and those close to them. Go through the forest, dear UAZ people, be careful not to stumble.

I will continue. I fell victim to advertising. I saw in the Hover H3 shopping center, asked the price, but what! (yes, with an exclamation mark) you can take H5 too. I looked at the site, went into the salon, sat and felt it. On a test drive, the manager would not let me drive, some strange one, but then I did not regret it) I myself would not have done this with the car.

Do not take cars from a test drive! Salon in the industrial area, off-road a stone's throw. And we left on a painfully familiar route, along which I on my Astra, when I went to the garage, did not accelerate faster than 5-10 km / h, and even potsyki on tired Zhiguli fly 20-30 km / h.

The decision on what to take came to me when we quietly and comfortably, trying not to fly out of our seats, flew along this "road", beaten by generations of dump trucks, at a speed of 75-80 km / h. At home I looked at the records of crash tests: I think in Astra I had less chances, if that.

Impressions

After a couple of weeks, they formalized the relationship. Received: black Great Wall Hover H5, frame, gasoline, 2.4, 136 hp (this is a muddy moment, how many "horses" are there - a philosophical question, someone writes that 126 or 124) Manual transmission-5, rear-wheel drive, hard-wired front, lower, ABS, EBD, front airbags, climate control, CD / DVD / bluetooth, something else, a multimedia system (good pleasant sound) with a touchscreen glinting in the sun, which displays a picture from a color camera.

There is also USB, AUX, rain and light sensors, rear parking sensors, a multifunction steering wheel with sound and telephone control, good PTFs, and not like some, for show, "leather" interior, heated mirrors, electric driver's seat, warmers.

Additionally: signaling, black wheels, footrests, crankcase and hand-outs, wheel arch liners and floor mats and trunk mats.

For all 780,000 rubles and the order of the technicians after 1,800 km (it is possible earlier, but not later) to come to the MOT in order to stretch the head. Then I read a lot of negativity that, they say, the gasket breaks through and mixes antifreeze with oil, that the cylinder head is not reached from the factory. Maybe they were not warned when buying what to stretch?

Great Wall Hover H5 inside and out. I like him. Someone says that the head optics looks like a Mazda CX-7. I express a restrained agreement on this - maybe it is similar. In general, the Chinese have learned to make cars that you can look at without shuddering.

I understand that now there will be many disagreements, but sometimes I cannot decide for myself that I like H5 or Prado 150 more. This Prado is very scary). It is assembled well, the body is galvanized (I am ready to discuss this point later, there was a sad experience), the gaps in some places are not the smallest, but uniform. The only negative is the closing of the rear door, you have to clap, be healthy, and on the hinge of the lock you can see traces of rather diligent hammering.

Inside the Hover H5 without frills, but made to the envy of many. The gaps are like in the best houses, there are no crickets, the skin seems to be leather, and not eco-leatherette, although I'm sure it's him).

I touched the plastic, it is hard, you may not like it for that, but I don't care. There are plenty of places in all directions, niches, boxes - everything is there. The trunk, too, be healthy, but the rear row folds, forming a small step.

The steering wheel is not adjustable for reach, but with my 182 cm in height I sat down immediately and comfortably, although I want this adjustment, of course, and so that the pedals are also regulated, but this is like with a night camera).

The devices are perfectly readable, which cannot be said about the touchscreen, they glare, although this is a problem typical for many cars. The management of secondary functions in Hover is not an example of ergonomics, well, okay, I set the climate in auto mode to 22 degrees and forgot, I forgot the disks at home, so there is nothing to control there, and the radio is not clear how to set it up. From a flash drive, he reads and plays everything perfectly, no questions.

I must note that this whole economy looks soundly, but it is noticeable that the designers did not really take a steam bath.

Hover H5 in the city and on the highway. First of all, I appreciated the suspension. Of course, as a test drive, I will never ride it, but on our broken roads it goes perfectly, swallowing everything. The roads immediately got better).

The engine is enough to stay in city traffic, the gear ratios are well matched: 65-75 km / h in third gear, if you push, then in fourth at 95-100 km / h the tachometer shows about 2,500 rpm, for this engine - the very thing ...

But it's better to start your acquaintance with dynamic performance with the brake pedal - this is not a C-Class sedan. The same thing in the corners: rolls are present, but there is no feeling of "cottoniness", elastic, but the mass of the car makes itself felt.

On the highway for me the most comfortable speed is 110-130 km / h. Although I noticed that I have it on any machine. There is silence in the cabin, the wind does not howl, the rubber does not make noise, the handouts are not audible, sometimes I don’t turn on the music (I just forget to put the discs in, but I haven’t figured it out with the radio, although I haven’t figured it out in any car yet).

There is a power reserve for overtaking trucks, although here you have to be honest: the Hover H5 with a 2.4 engine is far from a car, overtaking must be calculated, on the fifth it can not always pull out as you want, you have to switch to the fourth, and at 4000 rpm The mine engine becomes audible, and the serenity leaves me.

Diesel can solve the problem, but my father's acquaintance got more than 200,000 rubles for repairs because of our diesel fuel, although it is not the first year that he has been driving on diesel engines, an experienced one.

But back to town. Drive the Hover H5 in the city, in narrow, cramped courtyards, parking lots, etc. quite convenient, I thought it would be worse. The mirrors are large and comfortable, I, without straining and without changing the adjustment, see where the curbs are down there. The camera, of course, helps not to enter anywhere astern, and together with the parking sensors, information is obtained in abundance.

The only thing you want, well, since such things have gone, is a graphical display of information from the parking sensors and a camera with markings and night mode. Why - I have no idea, all my life I was content with just mirrors and everything is fine, except for that incident in the parking lot when I scratched the bumper, but you have to want something, so that there would be something to strive for).

Great Wall Hover H5 off-road. I had to check it once, but quite seriously. It was necessary to pick up the man from the farm and take him lying down to the city. It rained for more than a week, on the night before the trip too, and the route is simple: a couple of kilometers of concrete, then four kilometers of dirt road through the fields, then go down to the farm and back.

I walked along the concrete road, remembering the test drive, but slower - the buzz! Before the primer he stopped, turned on the four-wheel drive and popper. The primer turned into a natural swamp, in some places in the lowlands it leaked from the fields and the native black soil instantly covered the wheels with a thick layer.

I drove slowly in first gear, somewhere sideways, once my fellow travelers said: well, everyone, we arrived, and Hover H5 slowly but surely walked towards the goal. In places I plunged into the slush on the rapids, as I did not sit on the bottom, I do not know.

I practically slipped into the farm on a mud cushion (slope of 30 degrees), as I got into a rut, I drove off. While we were going, while we were loading, I cleaned the tires as best I could and drove out at a reduced speed, a couple of times with negative (rolled down) speed, until I reached something hard.

The way back after that was no longer scary, I was sure: Hover H5 will pass! And he passed. With pleasant music, without raising the speed above 2 800 rpm, without howling, roaring, maintaining a comfortable temperature in the cabin. Otherwise, a man would have died, how to drink.

disadvantages

The Great Wall Hover N5 is a fairly maneuverable car, but there is a complaint about the steering: it feels like almost four turns from lock to lock and lacks feedback. And although you can really turn the steering wheel with one finger, you want more "elasticity". In general, mixed feelings. I like the 5-speed manual transmission with well-chosen gear ratios, but I don't like the way it works. I don’t really care that the lever is shaking at idle, but the gears are actually switched on somehow, I don’t know how. When I drove the Passat, I did not think about the fact that the operation of the box can evoke any feelings (now I just get high on Golf 7). Then, in Example P12, I noticed that turning the gear on / off is accompanied by a rather straining effort - a slight movement of the hand is no longer enough, in Hover everything is worse. Transmissions are switched on somehow indistinctly, i.e. you will not miss the desired transmission, but the sensations remain. Switching from the first to the second generally takes place in two stages, except perhaps without overgrowing. Although, perhaps, I find fault, after the Niva everything is gorgeous) But, if I tried to ride a good car ... Well, you understand me.

Outcome

This is how it is - a miracle of the Chinese car industry. And it will crawl through where not everyone is given. Both in the city and on the highway. The staff of the Gret Wall Hover N5 is good, and for its price it is so simply great. He would have a normal motor and generally a great car.

The 2019 Great Wall Hover h5 SUV from the major Chinese car manufacturer GREAT WALL MOTORS has been produced and exported to Europe for many years. GWM cars are sold in sixty countries (from the CIS countries: Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Moldova, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan).

In Russia, the assembly of Great Wall Hover ash5 is carried out in the village of Gzhel in the Moscow region. This new versatile jeep is very popular both in China and among Russians. Today the GWM company is one of the most famous companies in the production of jeeps.

Externally, the 2019 Great Wall Hover h5 is almost unchanged, except in the front. Photo of Great Wall and h5 review on video clearly demonstrates its presentable appearance.

The radiator grille has become individual, not similar to the grilles of other cars. It is adorned with stylish bird wing stripes and the brand logo.

The station wagon body is made of high quality metal and joined by means of laser welding. For safety, a durable alloy frame is built in, which allows you to maintain the integrity of the body and avoid its deformation upon impact.

The front and rear lights have become expressive, with a touch of some aggression and aspiration. The lampshades of the headlights are convex, with optics sectors.

The front bumper is decorated with stamping decor. The rear bumper is equipped with a special sill, which gives additional convenience when loading luggage.

The impressiveness of the SUV is given by massive fenders and alloy seventeen-inch wheels.

External parameters of the wall: number of doors and seats - 5/5, width - 1,810 mm, height - 1,745 mm, length - 4,649 mm. The front wheel track is 1,515 mm, the rear wheels are 1,520 mm. The wheelbase is 2,700 mm.

Interior

The interior of the 2019 Great Wall Hover h5 is immediately pleasantly surprised. Roundness of lines, smooth strokes, high-quality material, solid assembly give dignity to the interior of the car. Rear view camera without distance scale, but this is compensated by parking sensors on the rear bumper.

Seats with leather upholstery, height adjustable and fold down. The driver's seat is adjustable in six positions. The control is push-button, everything is within reach.

The dashboard is backlit, informative and readable. Multimedia touch console. There is bluetooth, USB ports, AUX, OEM car radio with DVD, CD, MP3. And also there is a cruise control, a tire pressure sensor, a tow bar, an alarm.

To ensure safety, there are front airbags, EBD systems, ABS. We have not forgotten fastenings for child seats, parking sensors, climate control, heated seats, side mirrors and complete power accessories, power steering, on-board computer, immobilizer. The photo of the interior of the salon is simply pleasing to the eye.

Review:

When I was looking for a new car, the country of origin was my least concern. I needed a car with certain consumer properties that fit within the budget. But now, when I write a review, I clearly understand that there will be a huge number of pseudo-specialists who want to throw a stone simply because I have already heard enough of those about an explosive mixture of which is a Chinese copy of an ancient Japanese model, assembled with curved handles in Gzhel. I'll try to be clear. I moved to Hover from the VAZ "four". An avid fisherman himself, from the year before last he began to go for a duck. Berries and mushrooms are a family hobby.

To make it clear and there are no questions like sweeter carrots ... at work I move on a Camry 2011 onwards, so I have an idea of some kind of comfort. I wanted a car with good geometry and cross-country ability at the same time so as not to feel defective in the city. Brother Patriot, he is much larger, cheaper, in terms of off-road qualities Hover puts on both blades, but the reptile, firstly, pours, and secondly, it is extremely inconvenient in the city, and even does not enter my garage. And so I would gladly support a domestic manufacturer. So I chose a four-wheel drive frame rogue, with a lowered, high ground clearance, off-road geometry, with all this comfortable and, in my opinion, pretty, which is comfortable and not ashamed in the city and is not scary on moderate terrain. And the fact that the Chinese is collected from us will give a fuck, so far I have not found anything that would cause some incredible criticism. Everything is like any car, I and Kamryukha have some complaints.

Mileage is currently 11,000 km. Captured both summer and autumn mudslides and winter snowstorms. I drove on virgin snow, on sand, on gullies and puddles. Perhaps my experience will be useful to someone. And yet, I do not call to follow my example, on the contrary, I believe that the Hover car is specific and not suitable for everyone.

Exterior. Already after the purchase, researching various profile resources, I found that outwardly Hover turns out to neither give nor take the Isuzu Axiom of thirteen years ago, the radiator grille and front optics were licked off from the CX7, the taillights from the Volvo, etc. For me, the Hove is a completely self-sufficient car with a well-thought-out exterior design. If we compare, say, with the main competitor, which for some reason is considered our Patriot, it is obvious that the Hover is more elegant and modern. If we compare it with the glamorous SUVs that literally flooded our roads, then it is inferior to someone, and with someone it is on the same level. By the way, if we talk about similarity, then, in my opinion, just all new models and not only SUVs are very similar to each other. There are some comments on the assembly. The gaps are large and uneven both in the body and in the cabin. The rear right door and the fifth door had to be adjusted later.

Interior. In one phrase: simple and functional. The plastic is mostly hard, does not look expensive, sonorous and creaks right from the exit from the salon. It's not that annoying, but for a lot of money, I'll say it bluntly - it's not right. Chairs, steering wheel, handbrake, gear lever in leather. It looks stylish and tactilely pleasant. By the way, instead of leather on the chairs, I would like velor, such a hochuha from the recent right-hand drive past, I captured. Good velor is nicer to me than leather. The profile and padding of the front seats are poor. In the corners, it drags like a four, the lower back after 100 km. asks for a walk, although there is an adjustable support. By the way, the driver's seat adjustment is electric, cool. But the steering wheel adjustment is only in the corner. You can customize it for yourself, but let's say your wife does not have enough flight. Due to the frame structure, the floor is high, respectively, the landing, although high, but semi-recumbent, the knees are higher than the waist. Accordingly, I had to get used to getting into the car. As for the equipment, everything is in order, well, almost. Climate control, steering wheel media adjustments, touch screen, rear view camera, DVD, heated front seats, auto light, rain sensor, parking sensors. But there are troubles, the climate in the machine does not hold, you have to adjust it manually, the rain sensor algorithm is still a mystery to me, there is no on-board computer in principle. The view from the reversing camera is not bad, but there are no dynamic lines like in the working Kamryukha, and this is a completely different calico. The noise is mediocre, I would like better. There is enough space both in the front and in the back. The trunk is huge, and when the rear row is folded, there is generally a lot of space, only a big step is obtained. By the way, even three of us can go behind. The tunnel is practically absent, the profile of the chair is positioned, again there are three head restraints. There is an armrest with cup holders, pockets in the doorway. I can state one thing, it is pleasant and relatively comfortable to be in the Hover's salon. Of course, adjusted for class and cost.
Engine and gearbox. The official releases indicate the power of 136 hp, I have 126 hp in my passport. In any case, a lot of power did not hurt. The machine is heavy, the built-in power and moment do not give a feeling of sufficiency. For the dynamics, it seems to be necessary to twist, but the trick is that the maximum torque is low on the order of 3 thousand, respectively, it makes no sense to twist higher. The box is long and in second gear you can drive 60 km / h, but with such characteristics it is not very good. In the city, there is enough traction and power, on the off-road too. Discomfort is only on the track and then conditional, it will accelerate sharply, say, for overtaking difficult. In the beginning I wrote that I had tested Hove in different elements. The car is really rushing. There were a couple of times misunderstandings when the lowering was turned on, it turns on only when it comes to a complete stop. And so no problem. And in the mud and in the snow rushing like a tank. Moreover, the rear-wheel drive is often enough. Rubber is important. Stock is not the best option. I can't say for sure about consumption, according to my calculations, there are about 13 liters in the city.

Suspension and handling. The suspension is stiff. This is especially felt from behind. Despite this, it sways along the waves and rolls decently in turns. Apparently this feature is associated with the design, when there is a double lever in front, and a continuous beam at the back. But off-road is not bad. Although there is also a nuance, it is difficult to hang the suspension travel long, but when driving on repetitive large bumps there is a danger of swinging and hitting the bottom despite the decent ground clearance and off-road geometry. By the way, I installed protection in the cabin, it cost ten, I think it was not in vain. The steering wheel is not very informative, the feedback is weak. At high speeds on the highway, you have to actively steer.
