What kind of oil can be added to the Tuareg automatic transmission. What kind of oil to fill in the Volkswagen Tuareg automatic transmission. Oil change in transfer case VW Touareg

Good day to all!

Recently I listened to radio "Mayak", which is hosted by Sergey Aslanyan, and so he said that on Volkswagen automatic transmissions (not DSG), the oil should be changed every 60 thousand km. It was about Tiguan. But I was thinking about changing the oil on my 8-st. Aisin, because the unit is essentially the same. I decided to read the Tuareg forum, the topic of changing the oil in the automatic transmission is very popular, both on GP Tours and on NF Tours. The conclusions are as follows: most of the forum participants are inclined to change the oil by 60 thousand km. removing the pallet and replacing the oil filter in the box. However, there is a negative, which lies in the fact that some members of the forum after changing the oil, the box broke, due to improperly performed work.

The statistics of oil change was even given:

I changed the oil when the mileage was from 60 to 100 thousand km and everything is in order - 70%

I changed the oil when the mileage was from 60 to 100 thousand km and a breakdown occurred - 30%

In short, after reading the forum, doubts became even greater. I called my friend the master from OD, so that he told me that there is no need to change the oil in the automatic transmission, and I finally calmed down. Pavel replied that the manufacturer in its instructions does not write anything about changing the oil in the automatic transmission on my 3.6 liter engine. FSI and that it is supposedly filled for the entire life of the car. BUT, firstly, the manufacturer does not indicate the service life of the car anywhere, there is only a warranty period of 2 years, so it cannot be argued that the oil cannot be changed after two years of operation of the car. Secondly, according to the master of OD, there are recommendations for changing the oil in the automatic transmission on the 4.2 liter engine, as well as on the B6 trade wind with 6 speed automatic transmission. His resume is that the oil needs to be changed if I'm going to drive this car for at least another 2 years.

In general, now I am inclined to believe that the oil will still have to be changed, and then the question of the cost of this entire event arises. I must say right away that I will carry out the work at the OD (cost about 3,000 rubles), since the cost compared to the club service does not differ significantly (about 500 rubles)

So, the main consumables if you buy from OD:

  1. automatic transmission filter (original from VAG) - 5 396 rubles.
  2. automatic transmission oil ATF original from VAG (only 7 liters is needed) - 4545 rubles. for 1 liter
  3. pallet lining - 5 400 rubles.

Total: 42 611 rubles.

The cost of consumables if you buy at the Store Symbol 7:

  1. automatic transmission filter (original from VAG) –4 078 rubles.
  2. automatic transmission oil ATF original from VAG (only 7 liters is needed) - 2 584 rubles. for 1 liter
  3. pallet lining - 3 892 r.

Total: 26,060 rubles.

You can also buy consumables in the Ankor online store (zzap.ru website) and save another 4000 rubles, it turns out about RUB 22,000 But what if I am afraid to take oil in online stores, they say a lot of fakes. Maybe someone knows a simple test how to check counterfeit, tell me :)

In addition, you can save money if you fill in RAVENOL ATF T-WS Lifetime oil that has a special approval for my box. The price per liter is about 600 rubles. It turns out 12 170 rubles, but somehow I don’t want RAVENOL.

Of course, if you buy everything from OD, then the officials will bear responsibility for possible breakdowns, but you don't really want to pay about 45 sput for this. On the other hand, if something breaks, then during the warranty period provided by the OD for their work, it is unlikely that the oil bought in the store will be the cause of the breakdown.

Who thinks about this? I ask for your opinion.

Volkswagen Tuareg is a very common crossover in Russia. This car has undoubted advantages - high ground clearance, large trunk and four-wheel drive, which is important for most regions of our country. Volkswagen Tuareg is equipped with different transmissions. But most crossovers are still equipped with a six-speed automatic transmission. How is the oil change in the automatic transmission "Tuarega"? Consider in our today's article.

Oil resource

The 09D transmission is installed on the Volkswagen Tuareg. It was also installed on Audi crossovers. In the operating manual, the manufacturer does not say after what period the pier follows, it is flooded for the entire period of operation. Perhaps this is so for Germany, because the Germans use a car up to 100-150 thousand kilometers. But our realities are significantly different. So, you can often find a Volkswagen Tuareg with a range of 400 thousand kilometers. Of course, in order for the car to live up to this date, you need to change consumables in it, including changing the oil in the automatic transmission. Volkswagen Tuareg in our conditions requires this operation every 60 thousand kilometers. It is precisely this regulation that was determined by the majority of specialists.

You need to understand that oil is a working fluid in an automatic transmission. In addition to its main function (this is a lubricant), it performs:

  • Heat removal.
  • Reducing the mechanical stress on the elements of the automatic transmission.
  • Removal of small particles that are formed as a result of wear of the components.

Over time, such a liquid becomes black (initially a shade of red). This suggests that an urgent oil change of the Tuarega automatic transmission is required. Whether it's a 2.5-liter or a 3-liter, it doesn't matter. Driving with such an ATP fluid is fraught with unexpected breakdowns.

Oil change on a car after purchase

Do I need to perform this operation if the machine was purchased on the secondary market? If the seller has not provided the appropriate confirmation of the oil change, this operation must be performed without fail. Nobody knows how much and in what modes the Tuareg was used before the purchase. Sometimes one exit on the off-road is enough to "sentence" the oil, overheating the box.

What to choose?

To change the oil in the automatic transmission of diesel Tuareg 3.0, an original fluid with the index G 055 025 A2 is required. But the problem is that only officials have such oil and it costs about three thousand rubles per liter.

What then to use to change the oil in the automatic transmission "Tuarega" 3.0? You can use an analog from "Mobile" or "DuraDrive MV". These products meet all tolerances. They are suitable not only for changing the oil in the automatic transmission of diesel Tuareg 2.5, but also for gasoline engines. The cost of one liter of the product is about 700 rubles. How much oil is required for a change? It all depends on the method of operation. If it is a partial replacement, you need to prepare about four liters. For a complete oil change in the automatic transmission "Tuarega" 3.6, at least nine liters are required. Next, we will look at the features of each method.

Partial oil change in automatic transmission "Tuarega"

The essence of this operation is that the old oil is replaced with a new one. But it is replaced only by half, since no more than 50 percent of the filling volume can come out of the box. Thus, this replacement is resorted to more often than a complete one. That is, such an operation needs to be performed every 30 thousand kilometers.

So, how is a partial oil change performed in the Tuarega automatic transmission? To do this, you first need to install the car in the inspection pit. Next, the standard engine mudguard is removed. The car is installed on the handbrake. In this case, the gearshift lever must be in the "Parking" mode.

Please note that the oil change in the Tuarega automatic transmission is performed only after the gearbox has warmed up. To do this, the engine starts and warms up to about 50 degrees Celsius. Then you can jam it and go under the car. Using a hex wrench, unscrew the drain plug. An empty container with a volume of at least three liters is prepared in advance. It can be made from an old plastic canister.

It is important to remember that the engine should not be started until there is new oil in the box. Without it, the automatic transmission will simply fail (exactly the same as if the internal combustion engine was working without oil). When the liquid is completely drained, the drain plug is screwed back. Usually, the container takes about three liters. Next, you should find the seal and fill in the new liquid through the oil filling tube. Its volume should be equal to the amount of the old one - no more and no less.

What's next?

Then you should start the engine and test all positions of the automatic transmission selector, while keeping your foot on the brake pedal. This will run the new oil through the system. Checking the oil level will also be useful. In an automatic transmission, control must be done on a running engine. Taking out the dipstick, we will determine whether it is necessary to add liquid. Ideally, the oil should be in the middle, between the "minimum" and "maximum" marks.

If the level is in order, you can put back the protective mudguard and start full-fledged operation of the car.

Complete replacement

This method is slightly different. Here the oil changes in full. But in order to do this, a special apparatus is required, which, under pressure, will replace the old fluid with a new one. A complete replacement cannot be performed without this equipment. Therefore, this operation is performed only in the service. But experts say that this is a better and more correct method.

How is this operation performed? First, the car is driven into a box and installed on a lift. Next, experts will dismantle the automatic transmission pan, after draining the oil. Then the pallet is cleaned of all dirt and debris. Next, the element is installed in place. After that, the device is connected to the pipelines that go to the oil cooling radiator. The device has already been filled with new liquid in full. It must be said that its amount is slightly more than the filling volume, by about two liters.

In the next step, the engine and the connected device are started. Old liquid will flow from one outlet, and new one will flow to the other. The condition of the oil can be determined by its color. When the liquid is red on both terminals, this indicates a successful oil change. In total, the procedure takes no more than an hour.

What if not changing?

Experts do not recommend ignoring the oil change in the automatic transmission of the Volkswagen-Tuareg crossover for several reasons. First, the old fluid is not able to remove heat normally. And this is an increased risk of overheating of the box. Secondly, such oil cannot perform high-quality lubrication of automatic transmission elements, which leads to their increased wear. And, finally, the liquid itself is highly saturated with wear products. As a result, it works like an abrasive, creating a sandblasting effect under pressure. As a result, the valve body and control valves suffer. And the oil itself is saturated with aluminum dust.

All this, of course, is reflected in the behavior of the car. So, the driver notices strange vibrations and jolts that occur both in motion and while stationary at idle. The transmission may jerk or slip when trying to change gear.

Keep track of the level

No matter how long ago the replacement was made, it is necessary to periodically monitor the level of the liquid in the box. Due to its insufficient volume, various malfunctions may occur, as well as overheating of the automatic transmission. The clutches do not adhere well to the metal discs and slip. As a result, their temperature rises. The clutches are charred and destroyed. This also affects the oil itself. It takes on a black color and characteristic

What other problems are encountered when operating a Volkswagen-Tuareg automatic transmission with a low oil level:

  • Thrust discs, rubberized pistons and clutch drum overheat.
  • The valve body is worn out.
  • The channels of the hydraulic plate and plungers are clogged with mechanical particles that have arisen due to overheating. This entails increased wear of the rubbing elements of the pump and bushings.

Timely replacement of this fluid will avoid these breakdowns and extend the life of the automatic transmission.

Conclusion

So, we found out how the oil is changed in an automatic transmission on a Volkswagen Tuareg car. As you can see, the ATP liquid has a certain resource, after which it loses its qualities and provokes increased wear of the box. Therefore, it is so important to monitor the condition of the transmission oil and its level. The method itself can be different - both partial and complete. The main thing is to purchase high-quality consumables and adhere to the replacement intervals.

In order to avoid the need to make premature and costly transmission repairs, an automatic transmission is especially needed. At the same time, SUVs and crossovers, even taking into account their apparent strength and reliability, are no exception.

As for the popular Volkswagen Touareg model, it is necessary to carry out a full or partial oil change in the Tuareg automatic transmission on time. In this case, it is not always necessary to contact a car service, since this procedure can be easily performed independently. Let's take a closer look at this issue.

What functions does transmission oil perform in a gearbox

As in the engine, the oil in the gearbox has several important functions:

  • lubrication of rubbing parts and loaded surfaces;
  • cooling (oil absorbs heat from parts that heat up during operation);
  • the lubricant removes metal particles that are formed as a result of wear of parts (contaminants are retained in the oil, transferred to the filter, and retained on special magnets).

In addition, in the boxes - the automatic fluid is working (, works in, operating the box, etc.) Due to pollution, the oil partially loses its properties and not only ceases to be useful, but can also harm the parts of the mechanisms. For example, if it is too dirty, saturated with metal particles, it becomes an abrasive and contributes to even greater destruction of parts.

In the case of the automatic transmission, and clearly understand when to change the oil in the automatic transmission. In the manual for any car, the timing of the replacement of the transmission fluid is usually prescribed. As a rule, the replacement frequency is tied to the mileage.

But when it comes to automatic transmission Tuareg and many other cars, you should not wait until the corresponding figure appears on the odometer. It is optimal to regularly check the level and color of the oil on the automatic transmission dipstick yourself.

If fresh ATF oil is poured into the Tuareg box, then it has a red color (or tint). Over time, the liquid turns brown. Dark brown oil on the dipstick is a sure sign that it's time to replace. Another sign that replacement is needed are various irregularities in the operation of the box itself. For example, (this often happens when switching from second to third).

There is one more important point. The manufacturer claims that the oil filled at the factory in the VW Touareg automatic transmission (synthetics) does not require replacement at all. That is, the gearbox is maintenance-free throughout the entire life of the vehicle. However, one should not forget that completely different meanings are put into the concept of "service life".

In developed countries, after five years, the car is simply changed, while in the territory of the Russian Federation and the CIS countries, the owners use their vehicles for 10-15 years. In addition, operating conditions, loads, etc. also play a role.

In simple words, the specified service life assumes that the machine will travel 150-200 thousand kilometers (which is the service life of the oil without replacement). At the same time, long runs, difficult conditions and a number of other factors reduce the lubricant resource and the entire unit as a whole.

It becomes clear that you can trust the manufacturer, but you should also check the condition of the oil in the box and its level during long-term intensive use. It is also advisable to change the oil in the automatic transmission every 60-80 thousand km. mileage.

What is needed to change the oil in the Tuareg automatic transmission

  1. First of all, you need fresh and properly selected oil. As already mentioned, synthetics are poured into the box at the factory. For a complete replacement, which can only be done in a car service using special equipment, you will need from 7 to 9 liters of fluid.

Changing the oil in the Tuareg automatic transmission in a garage will only drain up to 40% of the total volume. In other words, not a complete replacement will be made, but a partial one. An update, so to speak. To change the entire volume in such conditions, it will be necessary to carry out two or three cycles of draining and filling.

It is better to use original oil - VAG ATF G 055 025 A2, provided by the manufacturer or presented in official Volkswagen stores. You can also use analogs that are cheaper, on average, two to three times (for example, Mobil JWS 3309, Petro-Canada DuraDrive MV). In this case, mixing gear oils must be avoided.

For the procedure, you will need an inspection pit (overpass, lift). You also need a spare gasket for the VAG 09D321371 pallet (with a complete replacement) and VAG 09D325435 (if it is changed, not washed), a drain plug gasket. You will also need keys to remove the pallet, a container where the old oil will be drained, and rags.

To change the oil in the Tuareg automatic transmission yourself, you need to perform several simple steps, observing their order:

Let's summarize

As you can see, changing the oil in the Tuareg automatic transmission (at least partial) is not a very difficult operation; special skills and special equipment are also not required. The only thing is that for maximum oil renewal, the procedure must be repeated several times after a short period of time, which means a total high consumption of transmission oil.

Finally, we note that replacing the transmission oil, taking into account its aging and contamination, allows you to maximize the total resource of the automatic transmission. Moreover, even if it is necessary to repair the automatic transmission, in boxes that were serviced in a timely manner, many elements remain in working order.

In simple words, in a number of cases it is possible to restrict ourselves only to a bulkhead of the machine (without replacing most of the parts), that is, to avoid expensive overhaul of the transmission or to a contract unit.

  • In this article, we will choose oil in automatic transmission Volkswagen Tuareg.

The question would seem trivial. What's so hard about that? But no! There is no such information in the accompanying documentation for the car; no one writes anything to the Tuareg probe. Sometimes the Toureg has no automatic transmission dipsticks at all. And the oil itself does not seem to require replacement. Then why this article? It's very simple. The oil in the Tuareg's box is usually changed in two cases. First, when the car gets a caring owner. the car owner understands that the oil in the box cannot work forever and loses its quality over time. Secondly, when an unplanned repair occurs. For example, you punched the automatic transmission oil cooler and the oil leaked out. Then the owner of the Tuareg starts looking for oil in the box. just go to the officials and buy oil there. But simpler does not mean cheaper. Do you know how much the original oil costs in a Volkswagen Tuareg automatic box from official dealers? 3000 - 3500 rubles per liter! And in the box you need 7-9 liters of such oil. So count You can hardly buy such oil in stores. Everything is only on order from one week or more. By the way, we have detailed information on our website. It will be useful to everyone who plans to change the oil in the box on their own. Milos we ask. And we will continue our topic.

So a matter of choice oils in automatic transmission VW Toureg is quite complex and multifaceted, since you cannot just enter the phrase into a search engine: "What kind of oil to fill in the automatic transmission Tuareg" and get an accurate answer right away. It all depends on which box is installed. And there were quite a few of them in 13 years of model production, believe me.

I myself have personally encountered such a problem. It was Friday evening. About an hour remained until the end of the working day. A young guy calls and asks:

    - Is there oil in the Tuareg's box?

I did not shock the question of which box was installed. Few people know this and can immediately answer. Usually the answer to this question is: "Eeee ... Well, this is ... I don't know ... automatic transmission ... 4-speed ...". Therefore, I immediately asked the year of manufacture, volume, power. In most cases, this information is sufficient to determine the box model. They identified the box, picked up the oil, gave it to the man, and he left happy and satisfied to replace it. It seemed so from the outside. In fact, the question of choosing an oil was more complicated. The box number was, the original oil was, but the price and delivery time left much to be desired. Found a suitable analogue. I was satisfied with the price, but the delivery time is from two weeks. A very long time. We began to look for analogs from those that are available. I had to call most of the major stores for advice. And these consultations left much to be desired.

The result was something like this:

    - Is there oil in the Volkswagen Toureg automatic gearbox?
    - Yes there is. Come on over.
    - And what is there?
    - Toyota ATF Type T-IV.
    - How did you determine what oil I need?
    - Well, we usually sell it in Tuaregi.
    - Clear. Those. no matter which box, will it fit everywhere?
    - Oh sure. There is even better WS. Will do, too. It is generally Long Life. You can change it less often.
    - Understood thanks.

Having received several such consultations, I realized that the sellers, to put it mildly, are not quite right about the case. I understand that maybe from Toyota's Type T-IV, the Tuareg box will not fail immediately. But still, one must take into account the moment that the Tuareg's box was originally designed for more power and more torque than most average Toyota. This means that the load on the fluid itself will be greater. And it will fail much faster. Accordingly, increasing the wear of automatic transmission parts.

So, I think that's enough lyrics. It's time to get down to business. So what kind of oil to fill in the Tuareg automatic transmission? The answer is in the next part.

Oil for automatic transmission and manual transmission Tuareg (Toureg)

We decided that the Volkswagen Toureg began its existence in 2002 and is being produced to this day. During this time, two generations have changed. But there were not so many varieties of boxes. These are 6-speed manual, 6-speed and 8-speed automatic machines. The automatic transmission models themselves are somewhat different from each other. But this does not affect the oil used in them.

So, in the above table, you can quickly find the oil recommended by the manufacturer for the Volkswagen Tuareg box. Please note that only the part numbers of the original fluids are shown in the table. We will consider analogs below in the article.

Original oils in automatic transmission and manual transmission Tuareg and their analogues

    • VAG Transmission oil "ATF" 1l G 055 025 A2

This is the original oil for Volkswagen Tuareg 6-speed automatic transmissions. In addition to the officials, practically no one keeps this oil in stock. Can be ordered online, delivery time is about a week. The price for such a canister is 1200 - 1500 rubles.

There are many analogues of this fluid, for example Mobil JWS 3309 or, which are 2-3 times cheaper. These two oils can be bought from our online store. Also among the analogues you can find Febi ATF 27001, SWAG ATF 81 92 9934. These oils are in the same price category and cost about 600-700 rubles. I have not seen such liquids in our stores either, but it is quite possible to order and receive in 5-7 days. But personally, I would prefer the Mobile 3309 oil. It inspires confidence more.

    • Transmission oil for manual transmission Volkswagen Tuareg - VAG G 052 798 A2

It is a fully synthetic oil for Volkswagen Toureg manual transmissions. Original VAG-ovsky article G052 798 A2. Has a very low viscosity. Specially manufactured for VW & Audi. I could not find analogues of this oil. This does not mean that they are not there, but the information on the network has not yet appeared. The original canister looks like this:

    VAG G 052 798 A2
    • VAG Transmission oil "ATF" 1l G 055 540 A2

And here is the most interesting! The latest generation VW Toureg is equipped with 8-speed automatic machines from the Japanese manufacturer AISIN. You may have already heard this name. And if not, then I will explain to you in a nutshell. Aisin is the largest supplier of automatic transmissions to automotive giants such as Toyota, Opel, Nissan and others. It is noteworthy that for its boxes, Aisin produces two types of oils - this and. But in no literature there is information about the applicability of AFW + oil in the 8AKPP Volkswagen Tuareg.

A complete analogue of the original VAG G055540A2 fluid is the German Ravenol T-WS oil. Factory article: 4014835743311. On the official website of Ravenol.su there is such information on this oil: VW / AUDI Transmission 0C8 in Q7 2010 / Transmission 0C8 in Touareg 2011, VW G055540A2

In the above list, you can select the oil for a specific VW Toureg modification, depending on the model year and engine. Please note that the table contains only original catalog numbers, that is, original gear oils. However, for the VW Touareg, you can pick up similar options, which in terms of quality and useful properties will be no worse than the originals.

Original oils and their analogues for automatic transmission VW Touareg

VAG ATF G 055 025 A2 - original lubricant used for filling six-speed automatic transmissions VW Touareg. This oil can only be found in brand stores or authorized dealers. You can order it on the manufacturer's website. Delivery takes about 6-7 days.

    Consider analogues of this liquid:

    1. Mobil JWS 3309, Petro-Canada DuraDrive MV- these are cheaper oils, which differ in price by two to three times compared to the original. Both oils are also available for ordering through the online store, or at the company representative office in the city. In addition, Febi ATF 27001 and SWAG ATF 81 92 9934 will be an equally high quality option. These are recognized oils that have a certificate of conformity. In the case of their order, the delivery time will take 5-7 days.
From the list presented, many experienced owners choose Mobil JWS 3309, which is considered the best in price, quality and useful life.
    2. VAG ATF G 055 540 A2 - original oil for VW Touareg. It is poured into VW Touareg eight-speed automatic transmissions. These transmissions are supplied by Aisin. The specified oil is well optimized for the Aisin transmission components. It is worth noting that Aisin itself recommends Aisin ATF AFW + or CVTF CFEx oil for its boxes. In theory, such a fluid should be compatible with the box that the VW Touraeg is equipped with. But unfortunately, Volkswagen does not confirm this information. Let's pay attention to the fact that VAG ATF G 055 540 A2 is much more expensive than Aisin ATF AFW +.

As an alternative to expensive grease, we recommend Ravenol T-WS oil with catalog number 4014835743311.
