I bought the car exactly one year ago, quite spontaneously. It's just that every winter on Golf at least a couple of times, but I'll get stuck in some snow-ice hole so that without a tie, neither here nor there. And last winter in someone else's yard he was once again stuck so that he spent an hour, unable to ask anyone to push (a banal situation - well, there were no passers-by, and that's it!). Suddenly I see - the old man is driving on Padzherik; Well, I asked him to hook it (especially since I already had a tie at the ready). Padzherik pulled off my plane without straining at all. As soon as I said goodbye to the old man, thanking him for his help, I immediately got stuck ten meters from my previous standing, and for another half hour. A passer-by helped push out. As soon as I got home, I immediately stumbled on the Internet, trying to find something four-wheel drive. I looked closely at Tiguan before, but I didn't really see the need for it, although the car was quite attractive to me. Along the way, I looked at competitors.

I didn't measure it with a tape measure, but it feels like the Ku-3 salon is practically no less than Tiguanovsky's. The only thing that creates a cramped feel is the taller center console and darker headliner.
The trunk is immediately obvious less. It is not big in Tiguan either, but at least the native set of wheels fits there. On the Kushka, the fasteners are brought out and are located in niches decorated with plastic. In the absence of a chair, the brackets are simply closed with lids and do not interfere in any way. The chair is easy to attach.
The seats on the back sofa are just as dofig as in the Tiguan. The only thing my kid complained about was that there were no tables (I don’t know if they are possible in the options?).

The climate block has been slightly altered, but the camouflaged Tigovskaya base is easy to read. Strange, but the Audi climate seemed more noisy. At half speed, the fan is already quite intrusive. Well, on the other hand, three levels are probably really enough. I use levels 1, 2 and 5 on the Teague. The heating itself is fully appreciated. It was -18C outside with the wind. I often went out to take pictures of the car in different places, and I was dressed somehow in the autumn. Therefore, upon returning to the car, my priest was happy with the Oudevsky chair, which was heated to the maximum.
I liked the upholstery of the sports chairs. Alcantara is a thing !, keeps perfectly. The lateral support bolsters hug well. It's great that the electric chair allows you to adjust the angle of inclination of the seat.
With MMI figured out easily. Everything is intuitive and logical. Of course, there are many hidden functions. The display is large, hiding in the center of the front panel, where the Tiguan has just a niche. Moreover, the display does not have a drive. It is simply spring-loaded and when pressed, it slams or snaps off, opening on the "microlift". I removed it while driving, because It was more convenient for me to use the on-board computer screen located between the tachometer and the speedometer. The kid kept asking to get the display and turn on the TV, like on the Eight.

By the way, I didn't like the fact that when you turn on the back, the music is immediately cut off. On the Teague, when the parking sensors are turned on, the music volume is cut off only by half and this is more convenient. And parking in complete silence is somehow not very comfortable, especially when a cool thing was playing and bam, it was unceremoniously chopped off. Fick knows, it can somehow be configured via MMI and it's a pity if not.

The wheels are slightly larger. Instead of the usual 235-55-R17, here is 235-50-R18. I expected the suspension to be stiffer and with more "low profile" wheels. Was paralyzed, as far as the suspension is SMARTER. It's amazing how they manage to combine the opposite. The car flew over pits, rails and other irregularities, as if on an air cushion, as if on air suspension in Comfort mode. And at the same time, excellent road holding, does not fall when maneuvering and steers very sharply.
Naturally, I liked the steering of the Audi better. I see several reasons for this. Lower center of gravity, lower rubber profile, more power and new Hakka-7 tires (I have a two-year-old Hakka-4).
At the same time, the Ku-3 under the thrust has an even more pronounced excessive turnover (in Russian speaking, under the gas, it brings in the stern more) than the Tiguan. It is clear that here the rear axle is connected by the same Holdex-4, as in Foltz. But as I understand it, they changed the gear ratio to the main gear in the box, and when the clutch is completely locked, a greater moment is transferred to the rear. This is also present in Tiguan, but not as clearly as in Ku-3.
The stabilization system works gently, stifles a skid already at the very end, allowing, if necessary, to turn around the front end, even on asphalt.
I definitely liked the brakes on the Audi better! But here the freshness of the rubber probably played a very significant role.

I didn't understand what exactly was there, but the box works quickly and without jerks. There is enough drive even in normal D mode. And if you switch to S and stomp, then the car grinds with wheels somewhere up to 100 km / h.
The only thing that I did not understand was the algorithm of the "Start-Stop" system. In Comfort mode, I did not notice anything suspicious at all. And in Dynamic mode, after braking and stopping, as soon as you take your foot off the brake and if you don't immediately step on the gas, the engine sighs. It seems that somewhere there is an excess pressure accumulating, for an instant start, immediately after braking, but if you do not stomp forward immediately, then the pressure is released. Maybe everything happens there in a completely different way, but the sensations are like that.
And my engine sometimes turned off in the parking lots, when I went out to take a picture, I didn’t turn it off on purpose so that the “stove was fired”, but when I returned to the car, the engine was sometimes turned off. I didn't understand the principle by which it works like that. And I didn't even check the "Start-Stop" system forcibly, I didn't get my hands on it.
Throughout the test, with a very fast drive mode "Slipper to the floor" and constant operation of the engine in parking lots (except for a few moments when it was turned off by itself), the consumption was 19.5 l / 100 km. If you do not fry so fanatically, then I think, with a normal dynamic driving, as I drive a Tiga, the consumption of 2.0TFSI would be about 18 liters. And if you drive quietly, in the "Start-Stop" mode, then probably less than 16 liters will be kept.
But to be honest, such "economical" driving is not understandable and interesting to me. This car is made for the fun of driving! Usually, I drive quite calmly and safely. But where is there especially to drive something, on our roads clogged with traffic cars? But here it is so tasty that the leg itself presses on the gas.
By the way, because of the good noise, there is no usual feeling of speed. But before you have time to stomp, after a few seconds the speed limit bell (100 km / h) rings and the "CHO" sign looms on the board. The foot automatically releases the gas.

If you had compared the Audi Q 3 and the Volkswagen Tiguan of the first generations, the advantage would have remained for VW, since this car was technically stronger, and its exterior clearly indicated that this brutal car was for real men. Audi, on the other hand, was absolutely faceless: someone called him a shaved sleeper, someone thought that he was too soft and worthy of the attention of only a female. The nondescript design was one of the reasons for the decline in sales of this model. And in terms of technical progress, he clearly lagged behind his classmates. In 2019, the second generation Q 3 was born, and now the Tiguan is catching up with the competitor.

Exterior

Stylish and powerful - no one will say about the new Ku-three that this is a female crossover. He had a character, outwardly he became similar to the more mature Ku-eighth, and in some moments even surpasses it. Aggression appeared in the look of Ku-third: a large octagonal branded radiator grill, sharp frowned headlights, embossed sides, front pillars shifted back, a vertically raised windshield that gave the car a volume. Visually, this model looks very wide and the reason for this is the wavy stamping above the rear wheels. Thanks to this optical illusion, the developers managed to give the car power without changing the geometry of the body, leaving the rear pillars practically even and maintaining the size in the shoulders.

Against the background of such a handsome VW Tiguan, with its straightforwardness, it was completely lost. Perhaps this is a matter of time, because Tiguan is three years older than his competitor. Tiguan 2016 remained a strict German, who is not at all in the mood for adventures. It has a narrow, horizontally stretched radiator grille, which is in one line with rectangular headlights, an even hood with a small stamping. It was possible to give the car at least some aggression due to the design of the front bumper, where a clear zoning can be traced.

Ku-third looks much more massive than Tiguan, perhaps it's all about the smooth stamping of this model. The lines seem to flow from the almost flat hood through the side zone to the stern. Tiguan, on the other hand, remained faithful to his geometry and did not lose that strict angularity for which he was valued in the first generation. It does not have a single smooth line, only sharp edges and sides.

Comparing the Tiguan and the Audi Q 3 at the rear shows the superiority of VW. And although the sloping rear pillars and massive rear bumper gave the car an impressive look and showed its desire to move into the SUV class, the Ku-III still remains a sports crossover. Even the restyled version of the Audi Q 3 2017 looks heavier than the second generation of this crossover: previously, the taillights did not burst with the tailgate and moved to the sides. The rear optics are now more compact and accentuated by boomerang illumination. The emphasis in this model was transferred to the rear bumper, changing the shape of the air intakes and narrowing the side lights.

Tiguan 2017 looks lean. The taillights are re-illuminated in the shape of the letter "F" and delineated by a line of embossing that came from the doors. Not a hint of plumpness, everything, as befits a serious German. If its rival is aiming for sports records, then VW remains a workhorse. He does not have an additional spoiler, not a single protrusion, and against the background of a competitor, now he seems to be that "planed sleeper", as it was recently with Audi.

It is very difficult to choose an Audi Q 3 or Tiguan, focusing only on appearance. To emphasize the character of the vehicle, exterior packages are available in the individual configurator for each model. For example, Audi has S line trim, VW has four trim levels City, Sportline, Offroad and All sycludive. Who wants more can supply electrically adjustable sports seats. To prevent the driver from being distracted while driving, in the free access area there is a compartment for charging a smartphone with USB connectors, which acts as an antenna amplifier; between the seats - an ergonomic armrest with an additional compartment for small items.

The Tiguan, on the other hand, loves the driver and passengers alike. So many additional compartments for luggage and little things are not, perhaps, in any crossover. The glove box and bottle pockets on the doors are familiar accessories, but a hidden smartphone drawer to the left of the steering wheel, a storage compartment in the ceiling, niches under the front passenger seat, nets on the backrests, a small mesh pocket on the transmission tunnel near the left foot of the front passenger, cup holders in the folding armrest of the rear sofa - and this is not a complete list of what can be found in Volkswagen.

In the rear passenger row, even with a smaller wheelbase, the Audi is as comfortable as the Volkswagen. In the standard positions of the seats, the knees of the passengers do not rest on the front seats. Trumps Q 3 - longitudinal adjustment of the rear sofa by 15 cm and recesses for the knees in the backs of the front seats. At Tiguan, the sofa is also adjustable, but the molding of the side seats is imperfect: the right and left passengers constantly slide into the center. Audi has a MacPherson strut in front and a four-lever in the back. With such a set, you don't expect a soft move, but it is there and even in excess, no worse than that of the Q 7, which is considered the ideal in the entire Q line. By experimenting with the configurator, you can opt for a stiffer sports suspension or pneumatics, but whether this is necessary for urban conditions remains unclear. The track will swallow everything, no matter what wheels you put on this car, but in conditions of measured driving and metropolis, it is better to stop at a base with standard 16 wheels.

The move of the first generation of the Ku-third was always compared with Tiguan and it was always noted that the Ingolstadt was still far from a competitor. Now the situation is changing, the Tiguan, with its jumps on every bump, even in light off-road conditions, remains on the sidelines. This does not mean that it shakes in the car, like on a cart, but the fifth point feels all the shocks. Volkswagen is a car that loves space. On the highway, she pleases the driver with a hard, stable ride, but the city is not for her, since even if it slows down in front of a speed bump, the car will not swallow him like an Audi, but push forward. The suspension of this model is similar to that of the competitor, only its settings are much worse.

In terms of driving stability, Audi is out of competition. This machine works to anticipate the driver's actions. Smooth road or serpentine, speed or moderate driving - in the Ku-third there is no vibration, no rolls, no slippage on wet asphalt or snow. Its wheels literally drive into the road surface, which is not very popular with drive enthusiasts.
