Parking on Saturday is paid or not. How many minutes can I park in paid parking for free? Parking on weekends

In the capital of the Russian Federation, the lack of parking spaces is especially acute. In order to solve the transport problem, government officials set themselves the task of introducing changes to the parking system, making these places payable.

When can I take advantage of free parking in Moscow on weekends in 2018?

Citizens who live in the capital of the Russian Federation should be aware that the time reporting for free parking begins at 00 hours 01 minutes and ends at 23 hours 59 minutes. The right to use a parking space without payment is granted on state non-working holidays, as well as weekends transferred to working days in accordance with the law.

On Sunday, drivers driving around Moscow can also park their vehicles in the parking lot absolutely free. Another opportunity for free parking is provided to citizens if they decide to leave their vehicle in a specially equipped place on Saturday (only after an official holiday or day off).

Until what time can I use my free parking?

In Moscow there are so-called “parking lots”. They were developed in order to significantly increase the popularity of travel using public transport. In order to provide citizens of the Russian Federation with the opportunity to park their car for further travel on the metro, such places are located near the largest metro stations.

There are currently 21 intercepting parking lots. They are designed to provide free parking to every car owner. It is planned to further popularize public transport, so in the coming years it is planned to build 37 more intercepting parking lots. A vehicle can be in this area from 6 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.

Officials have developed mandatory conditions for granting the right to free use of such parking - you must travel by metro at least twice. Otherwise, a parking space will be paid for in the same way as throughout the city. “Intercept parking lots” provide for the presence of vehicles in them at night. To pay for parking, double charging occurs. During the day, the car owner pays in the city from 40 to 80 rubles for using the space (per day). At night, tariffs double.

Parking in the paid parking zone in Moscow will be free during the upcoming holiday weekend from June 10 to 12, the city administration told Interfax on Monday.

The agency's interlocutor recalled that parking fees on the capital's road network are not charged on Sundays and public holidays. In addition, parking is free on days to which weekends are postponed by decree of the Russian government.

“This year, by such a resolution, the day off on June 9 was moved to Monday, June 11. That is, parking holidays in Moscow will last for three days - from June 10 to 12,” he explained.

Is parking in Moscow on Saturday paid or not?

Parking lots in Moscow, official website

The number of active users of the Moscow Parking application has doubled since 2015 thanks to a user-friendly interface and the introduction of new functions.

According to Deputy Mayor of Moscow Maxim Liksutov, then 788 thousand people constantly used the program, at the end of 2017 - already more than 1.4 million people.

“The Moscow Parking app is becoming more popular thanks to its user-friendly interface and the introduction of additional functions. Parking is paid by the minute, you can stop the parking session at any time - unspent funds will be returned to your account. The application determines the location of the car owner, the number and tariff of the nearest parking zone, and also remembers where the car was parked,” Liksutov explained.

Problems with the availability of parking spaces in Moscow forced the authorities to take radical measures and give a new status to parking lots, transferring them to the category of paid ones. The capital's drivers did not happily accept this idea and are actively using all sorts of ways to avoid the burden of paying for parking, which, as a rule, are illegal. But at the same time, if you delve into the issue, you can find out that there are legal ways to use parking lots free of charge and not be afraid of anything.

When and on what days in Moscow can you not pay for paid parking? Is there a charge for parking on weekends? Is parking free at night and are the parking lots open at night? We will answer these questions in this article.

Free parking calendar in Moscow for 2018

The main ways to use free parking in Moscow are:

  • keep an eye on the calendar, as parking is free on certain days;
  • park in “intercept” parking lots;
  • find out which categories of citizens are recognized as benefiting and have the right to a free parking space, and if this benefit applies, then apply for a parking permit (large families, disabled people, etc.).

Parking and rides

Parking and rides allow you to park for free during certain hours. The locations of such parking lots are usually concentrated near large metro stations. Their existence is intended to encourage drivers to use public transport and, first of all, the metro to travel to their place of work. There are already 21 sites for such parking throughout Moscow, and in the next 4 years their number will increase by another 37. The exact addresses of such parking lots are contained on the official website of the Moscow metro.

Despite the fact that parking involves free parking, a number of conditions must be met that make it so:

  • parking is allowed only from 6.00 to 21.30;
  • a citizen must make at least 2 trips by metro.

If the conditions are not met, then the parking space is paid for on a general basis. At night, places in such parking lots are also paid at double the rate.

Preferential categories of citizens with the right to free parking

  • employees of a number of emergency services in the performance of their work duties (Ministry of Emergency Situations, police, ambulance, etc.). An important criterion is the use of special vehicles with special colors, inscriptions and other attributes;
  • persons who have either a preferential or resident permit. Preferential permit is issued:
    • concentration camp prisoners;
    • participants of the Second World War and the defense of Moscow;
    • disabled people of groups 1 and 2;
    • with many children.

The benefit is valid after obtaining a permit; its absence requires payment for parking spaces according to the general rules.

A resident permit is formally free, but for round-the-clock use of the service for a year you will have to pay 3,000 rubles, but compared to parking prices, this amount is insignificant. It is issued to Muscovites and its radius covers parking lots according to registration. You can leave your vehicle free of charge under a resident agreement in such parking lots from 20.00 to 8.00.

Days and places of free parking

Car owners have access to free parking in the center of Moscow on the following days:

  • days recognized as holidays (state non-working holidays);
  • Sunday;
  • weekends that were transferred to a weekday in accordance with the law;
  • Saturdays after a weekend or holiday. On regular Saturdays, parking is paid according to the current tariff.

Even such days do not give the right to free parking to malicious debtors of fines if they have not been repaid and the relevant information has not been deleted from the traffic police website. A more detailed list of days and places with free parking is available on the official website of the Moscow Mayor.

Parking cost on weekends

Weekends include free parking, but with reservations. Not all Saturdays fall under this category, since most companies also work on Saturday, so Saturday is considered a day off only if the previous Friday was a holiday or day off.

Night parking cost

The cost of a parking space during the daytime ranges from 40 to 80 rubles; at night, rates double. On weekends (public holidays, Sundays, etc.), except Saturdays, parking is free. Rating: 3.5/5 (2 votes)

Finding a parking space without paying in the center of Moscow City is an adventure. But free parking exists in Moscow - this is not a myth!

Unfortunately, the number of paid parking spaces is constantly increasing and, according to experts, soon free parking spaces in Moscow will simply disappear.

However, car owners are not yet ready for such a step, although the presence of paid parking has had a beneficial effect on increasing the speed of traffic in the city. If you park your car in the wrong place, you can run into a large fine.

The ideal solution to the problem is to search for free parking lots located in Moscow.

On weekends

In Moscow you can find free parking, but it is only valid on weekends and holidays.

Parking is only valid on Sunday, as Saturday traffic volume is almost equal to weekday traffic.

However, not all car owners are allowed to park their cars at curbs on Sunday.

If there are outstanding fines, it is prohibited to leave the car at the curbs. The fine will need to be paid, after which the car owner will be able to safely use the free parking space on certain days.

It is worth noting: Free parking for electric cars and motorcycles is provided.

Near the subway

You can park your car for free in the area near the metro.

However, there are some nuances here too:

  • the owner of the car must make at least two trips to the metro while the car is in the parking lot;
  • Entry must be made at a station that is not located near the parking lot where the car is left.

Note: You can always find an opportunity to save on parking. For example, in paid parking lots there are times when you can use the space absolutely free.

The rules for paid parking during free time are as follows:

  • the car owner is allowed to park the car for no more than 15 minutes;
  • After the allotted minutes have passed, a fee is charged for the time the car is parked.

Night

There are several parking areas in Moscow where you can park your car overnight for free.

Parking is permitted in the North-Eastern and Central districts. The car can be parked in the parking area from 10 pm to 8 am.

Parking is permitted under a prohibiting sign with a time limit sign. Such signs are placed on 13 streets in the center of Moscow.

Parked cars on these streets will not interfere with traffic, so you can leave your car without fear. The main thing is to remove the car before 8 o'clock in the morning. If the car is not removed before the specified period, the car owner may be fined.

Note: There is an application in Moscow that allows you to search for free parking spots. It's called "Moscow Parking".

Resident permit

A resident permit entitles the car owner to receive free parking.

This permit is a subscription, and can only be obtained if you have Moscow registration.

Permission is also available for citizens who own living space in the capital.

The permit will cost 3,000 rubles annually, which is not too much if you compare this amount with the prices for paid parking. The owner of the agreement will be able to leave the car anywhere in the paid parking zone.

Preferential parking spaces

This category includes:

  • large families;
  • WWII participants and veterans awarded medals for the defense of Moscow;
  • Heroes of the Russian Federation and Heroes of the Soviet Union;
  • Heroes of Labor;
  • concentration camp prisoners;
  • Knights of the Order of Glory;
  • disabled people.

To obtain a permit for a large family, the following documents will be required:

  1. Applicant's passport.
  2. Statement.
  3. Vehicle registration document.
  4. Documents confirming the identity and authority of the representative.

A permit to provide a parking space for large families is issued for no more than one family. The permit gives the right to park at any time every day. The validity period of the permit is 1 year.

To obtain a free parking space due to a disability, you must obtain a permit. In this case, permits can be issued for a car owned by a disabled person or his representatives.

You will need to present the following documents:

  • application for permission;
  • passport;
  • medical certificate (to confirm disability);
  • documents capable of confirming the identity and powers of the representative (including the representative of a disabled child).

The car must have the appropriate badge.
