After checking the "extreme" manageability on a dry road, the alignment has changed a bit. The eights were awarded the same tires as on a wet road, - Nokian, Nordman, Pirelli and Toyo. And the Hankook joined them. It is noteworthy that the behavior of the Tires GT Radial on the dry road experts were assessed significantly higher (seven points) than on wet. This season, we slightly upgraded the system of counting the final points.

Previously, the minimum brake path "weighed" 180 and 160 points for wet and dry coatings, respectively, and maximum speed at the rearrangement was 160 and 140 points. Now the "waving" is as follows: the maximum for assessing the brake properties is 260 and 240 points (for wet and dry coatings), and for the limiting speed on the rearrangement - 80 and 60 points. As a result, the ratio of brake properties and manageability turned out to be more balanced and logical in terms of safety. The total "weight" of the brake path on the wet asphalt and dry now is 500 points, and the "weight" of the car behavior during maneuvering - 330 points: this is the sum of the "scales" of the speed at the rearrangement (80 + 60 \u003d 140 points), control rate estimates (80 + 60 \u003d 140 points) and evaluating course stability (50 points).

Due to such changes in the system of final counting, we decided to reduce the border for the title of "good tires" - now it is 840 points.

The first and second places were divided by the tires of Nokian Hakka Green 2 and Pirelli Cinturato P1 Verde, who scored 932 points. These tires are practically devoid of flaws.

In the seventh and eighth places there are very good Toyo Proxes CF2 and Kumho Ecowing ES01 tires, scored 892 and 882 points, respectively. Their main drawback is a low level of comfort. If this indicator is not fundamentally important, then ... why not?

The ninth and tenth places are divided by Cordiant Sport 3 and Matador Elite 3, the gooders of our test. They have a lot in common: both tires - the third generation, Russian production and both scored 859 points. And the disadvantages are similar: modest coupling properties and complex handling with extreme maneuvers. But if without fanaticism, you can quite ride. On warm-up

The first set of exercises is something like a warm-up. Tires are not experiencing significant loads, their protectors are almost not wear out.

First impressions

Formula, Nokian and Nordman are broken into leaders in the course stability. At all these tires, Skoda is clearly held a given direction and reacts without tangible delays to the turns of the steering wheel. It is filled with a reactive force increasing with an increase in the angle of rotation, and provides an understandable feedback.

The rest of the rest looks Bridgestone, Dunlop, Nitto and Toyo. They have noted an incomprehensible wide "zero" when moving in a straight line. At the same time, a delays in reactions and pronounced insufficient turning appear in Dunlopa. The rest of the Trinity sins excessive turns capable of disrupting the car into a skid when the circumstances is unsuccessful.

In races on economy at urban speed (60 km / h), Toyo broke out. Most of all "consumes" Formula. However, the difference with the leader was only 0.3 l / 100 km.

At a speed of 90 km / h, Toyo holds leadership, but Dunlop, Goodyear, Nitto and Yokohama are joined to it. Nokian distinguished the highest appetite, but the difference with the most economical rivals is rather conditional - a two-gram glass of gasoline per 100 km.

Our measurements show that the shortest brake path is Nokian: 24.4 meters tires. Very near - Continental with a result of 24.8 meters. The longest braking distance, 28 meters, turned out to Nitto. A little better showed itself Bridgestone - 27.8 meters. In on the same coverage, the best brake path on the tires of the same dimension was 28.3 meters, and the worst - more than 34 meters. Progress!

In races "On the dry" champion, the champion changed - this is Continental: 37.6 meters, followed by Nokian (38.5 m), Formula (38.7 m) and Hankook (38.8 m), yielding about a meter. Close the list of Nitto with a result of 42 meters and Bridgestone - 41 meters. Ten years ago, the "dry" braking record was 43.8 meters, the outsiders for the stop required more than 50 meters!

And on the wet coverage, and on the dry for ten years the clutch "on average" is improved by 15% - win almost a car body! It is clear that cars made their contributing during this time, but the lion's share of progress is provided by the tires.

Wait!

Consistent car rebuildings in the stream - a phenomenon rather common on our roads. Therefore, we have long included a rearrangement that imitating such a maneuver. This exercise makes it possible to evaluate the hook properties of tires in the transverse direction and how they affect the behavior of the car.

The test starts races with a deliberately passing speed, each time lifting it by 1-2 km / h, while the car starts to "chop up" cones, falling outside the designated corridor. Vbox fixes the speed at the time of the beginning of the maneuver, and the behavior of the car and how simply it to manage it is evaluating the test, exposing points based on the formulated comments. Limit speed is necessarily confirmed in subsequent races to exclude a random result.

On the wet coverage, the record puts Nokian - 67.8 km / h, it fours Formula - 67.7 km / h. In the tail of the group - Nitto and Bridgestone, their results are 63.5 and 63.6 km / h, respectively. On Nitto, even with a minor increase in Skoda speed, refuse to perform a hard maneuver, - straightens the trajectory. Bridgestone introduces instability in the reaction: first it is not in a hurry to take the first turn of the steering wheel, gliding almost right through the first strip, and if the car succeeds, it is necessary to minimize in the next row, while stabilization, it shoots the tail, knocking all the cones on both sides. Therefore, this pair has the lowest marks on handling.

Also, low (6.5 points) was estimated and dunlop - due to delays in reactions, increased rotation angles of the steering wheel and sharp disruptions in slip. The highest score earns Goodyear - the tests noted the clear reactions and the clear behavior of the machine, which does not require leading steering action.

A similar test on dry asphalt spawned a bunch of emotions. First, the maximum rate of execution of this maneuver in recent years has grown noticeably. Continental test leaders (70.5 km / h) and Nordman (70.4 km / h) incredibly fast in this extremist exercise: the speeds exceeded 70 km / h.

But a dozen years ago, 67-68 km / h in such conditions seemed to be an ultimate achievement.

Secondly, they upset the low estimates for manageability in limit modes. Severe comments received six participants from eleven. Claims are similar: delays and large corners of the steering wheel or low informativeness. And these comments do not depend on the balance sheet balance - whether there is an insufficient turnover with the demolition demolition (Yokohama), an unstable, wide balance with a demolition in the initial phase and a drift in the final (Bridgestone, Formula, Nitto) or excess turning, leading to a sharp drift in the second Corridor (Continental, Nokian).

And the best estimates received Goodyear, Hankook and Nordman - 7.5 points, which means "light claims". Nobody awarded eight points. We believe that create an elastic frame that can withstand significant peak side loads, for high-profile (65%) and at the same time quite narrow tires - a difficult task. And it is especially difficult when developing tires with super-fast coupling properties.

Being impressed by the brake properties of tires on the wet asphalt on summer conditions and having remembered our last year's dry asphalt, we decided to repeat the "wet" braking on the cold coating. The temperature for this was picked up the boundary: +6 ° C. Her shinniki is considered critical for the transition to the fall on winter tires, and in the spring - on summer. We did not include the results obtained in the final table, since the manufacturers are "drained" tires under high positive temperatures.

The results plunged us into a state of shock. With an extremely low temperature, the braking path of all subjects increased compared to greenhouse conditions on average three meters, or by almost 12%. It is more than a carpid car!

In addition, the order of summer braking results was completely collapsed. On the cold asphalt, the shortest brake path issued a modest Dunlop SP Touring R1 in the summer conditions. After him, all the brands of Japanese and Korean brands were lined up, with the exception of Nitto NT860, which, at any temperature, demonstrates the weakest result. But the most amazing - all three braking leaders in the "room" conditions (Nokian Hakka Green 2, Continental ContiPremiUmcontAct 5 and Formula Energy) collapsed into the second half of the list.

You can make another rating - clutch stability (brake path) at different temperatures. The title of the very "Temperature Independent" tires in the wet braking are conquered by BRIDGESTONE TURANZA T001 tires: they have a braking path with a decrease in temperature to the maximum permissible compared to the "summer" increased by only 4%! In second place - Toyo Proxes CF2 tires, "surrendered" a little more than 5%. It is noteworthy that this couple in the summer conditions "holder" did not shine. The traditional leaders of our summer tests of Nokian Hakka Green 2 and Continental ContipRemiumContact 5 in cold conditions have increased the brake path almost 20% - five meters! It turns out that the tires on the wet coverage in summer conditions are slow down, the worse they are in the cold. Outsiders are less dependent on temperature changes.

You can explain this in one word - "Balance". Achieving ultra-high clutch in summer conditions is possible only due to its deterioration on the cold coating - there is a shift towards the preferred temperature. A relatively average indicators in the entire temperature range are talking about a more even balance.

But this is only a particular case relating to the clutch on the wet coverage. Tires are characterized by other indicators - adhesion on dry coating, rolling resistance, noise, smoothness, strength, knowledge - which often do not get along with each other. So it accounts for manufacturers to select the optimal balance between all the performance, experimenting with materials, a tread pattern and manufacturing technology.

What to do to the consumer? Of course, use the results obtained with the maximum benefit! Pick the summer tires with a loaf at.

And if the tires are already bought, consider their features that you have learned from our test. Turn over the car in time, while traveling a safe distance taking into account temperature changes.

Excellent and good man

Tires with a result of 919 points have reached the first place. The shoe in them Skoda amazes with an outstanding clutch on wet asphalt, and on long journeys will delight good course stability and decent smoothness.

The rescue of the leader is only 3 points, the second step of the podium occupies. Features - impressive grip on a dry road and bribefully quietly.

The honorable third place was captured by tires (sub-brand Pirelli), scored 912 points. Coupling properties are not the best, but high enough. Like Nokian, these tires are suitable for long journeys, in which a clear follow-up of the course and the decent smoothness of the course are important. But the most pleasant bonus is a modest price.

It is forced to state that there are spots in the sun. Experts found in the leading three similar flaw in behavior with extreme maneuvering on dry asphalt upon reaching limit speeds. In addition, a significant decrease in adhesion on a cold wet asphalt is alarming.

In the fourth and fifth positions, while holding in the category of "Excellents", they also have scores from 906 and 904 points, respectively. Quiet, well balanced, without pronounced splashes and failures. Nordman has a little better term resistance and smoothness, and Hankook boasts a little greater tenacity when braking on dry coating. In general, the coupling properties are close to the average level.

At the same time, both participants are indifferent to the cold wet asphalt - in the spring and autumn this is an unconditional plus.

On the sixth line of our rating - (895 points), opening a group of very good tires. In the asset - the best handling on the wet asphalt with extreme maneuvers, in passive - excessive rigidity, and the grip on the wet is below average and significantly deteriorates in the cold.

The seventh and eighth lines of the table of ranks took and with a minimum break - 890 and 889 points, respectively. Similar to the level of clutch and comfort - both quiet.
