In what year was the vaz released. History of the vaz brand. What is the mistake

LADA is a brand owned by JSC AVTOVAZ, the largest Russian manufacturer of passenger cars. Now the company is owned by the Renault-Nissan alliance and produces cars under the brands LADA, Renault, Nissan and Datsun. The main production and headquarters are located in the city of Togliatti.

The Togliatti manufacturer was born in 1966, when the leadership of the USSR decided to build a large automobile plant, which was supposed to produce affordable cars for personal use. Then in the Soviet Union there were only expensive cars in very limited quantities, which did not meet the demand from the population.

Before the start of construction, an agreement was concluded with the Italian automobile concern Fiat, which developed a technical project, supplied equipment and technical documentation, and also trained specialists. Many AVTOVAZ models were built on the basis of Fiat cars.

The construction of the plant started in early 1967 and was announced by the shock Komsomol construction site. It was carried out at an accelerated pace, 844 machine-building factories of the Soviet Union and more than 900 factories from other countries were engaged in the supply of equipment.

In 1970, the plant produced the first cars - "Zhiguli" VAZ-2101, which repeated the design of the Fiat-124. However, the Soviet car was assembled from domestic components and, according to its designers, had more than 800 differences from its Italian counterpart. She received drum brakes instead of disc brakes, increased ground clearance, reinforced body and suspension. All this made the VAZ-2101 more suitable for operation in the conditions of the roads and temperatures of the Soviet republics.

The car was equipped with a carburetor gasoline engine with a more advanced design of the upper camshaft. It was presented in two versions: 64- and 69-strong. The volume of the first was equal to 1198 cm cc, and the second - 1294 cc. The maximum speed was 142 and 148 km / h, respectively, and the acceleration time from the start to 100 km / h was 20 and 18 seconds.

The model required improvements, which were carried out by engineers as complaints were received. Therefore, she could no longer claim to be a cheap "people's car". However, this did not prevent her from becoming popular in the USSR, where there was an acute shortage of vehicles.

VAZ-2101, nicknamed "kopeck", became the ancestor of the "Classic" family and was produced until 1988. During this time, 4.85 million units of the VAZ-2101 with a sedan body of all modifications were produced. For the production of this car, the Volzhsky Automobile Plant received the international award "Golden Mercury".

VAZ-2101 (1970-1988)

In March 1971, the first stage of the Volzhsky Automobile Plant was put into operation, designed to produce 220,000 units annually. Already on July 16 of the same year, the 100,000th car rolled off the assembly line.

In 1972, the second model of AVTOVAZ, VAZ-2102, was released. In fact, it was a copy of the "penny" converted into a rear-wheel drive station wagon. She was called "the best friend of a summer resident" because of her practicality and spaciousness.

VAZ-2102 (1972-1985)

In the same year, the production of a more powerful modification of the Zhiguli, the VAZ-2103 model, which was named LADA 1500 for export, was launched. It was already equipped with a 1.5-liter engine with a capacity of 77 hp. The maximum speed has increased to 152 km / h. The new model gained “one hundred” in 16 seconds, which put it on a par with Western competitors of the same class. In fact, the car was copied from the Italian Fiat 124 Speciale of 1968 with processing for use on the roads of the USSR.

The car also received a more comfortable, spacious and beautiful interior, a plastic-trimmed trunk and improved noise insulation. It was produced for 12 years, during which the plant produced 1 304 899 units of the model.

VAZ-2103 (1972-1984)

In 1976, the most popular model of the Togliatti automobile plant, the VAZ-2106, was released, the prototype of which was the Italian Fiat 124 Speciale of 1972. The car replaced the VAZ-2103, and none of its creators expected such a wild success with the public.

The VAZ-2106 was equipped with a 1.6-liter 75 hp engine, which allowed it to accelerate to 152 km / h.

In appearance, the "six" received a new front lining, rear trunk panel, other bumpers, side direction indicators, wheel caps, ventilation grilles.

The interior has changed the upholstery and door armrests, in the front seats - height-adjustable headrests.

In addition, the car was equipped with a steering column washer switch for a windshield washer, an alarm, a low brake fluid level indicator and a rheostat for lighting the instrument panel. More "advanced" versions received a radio, a red fog lamp and heated rear window.

VAZ-2106 (1975-2005)

In 1977, one of the most successful cars of AVTOVAZ appeared - "Niva", VAZ-2121. This four-wheel drive SUV with a 1.6-liter engine and a frame chassis was successfully exported: more than 50% of the produced cars went abroad.

It was equipped with a mechanical four-speed gearbox, a lockable center differential and a two-stage transfer case.

On the world market, "Niva" became a real sensation, prompting the leaders of the automotive industry to create something similar. The success was ensured by innovative technical solutions (independent front suspension, all-metal monocoque body) and low price.

In 1978, the Niva was recognized as the best car in its class at the international exhibition in Brno. In 1980, the model received the gold medal at the Poznan International Fair.

The Volzhsky Automobile Plant decides to release special versions of the VAZ-2121, the first of which are exported: a modification with a 1.3-liter engine and a right-hand drive version.

It is worth noting that in the homeland "Niva" was bought up not as intensively as abroad. It was quite expensive both in purchase and in operation. At the same time, domestic consumers did not always need such a large car.

VAZ-2121 (1977)

In 1979, the VAZ-2105 was released, which was produced by the car plant for the longest time - until 2010. Its development took place within the framework of the program of modernization and preparation of the second generation of rear-wheel drive cars of the brand.

He became the successor of the "penny", as well as the basis for the creation of the "luxury" sedan VAZ-2107 in 1981 and the station wagon VAZ-2104 in 1984.

VAZ-2105 (1979-2010)

In 1982, the last model from the representatives of the "classics" appears, the VAZ-2107. It is, in fact, a "luxury" modification of the VAZ-2105, which was distinguished by a more powerful engine, different bumpers and headlights, a radiator grille, a new shape of the hood, more comfortable front seats, an updated dashboard and the presence of cold air deflectors.

In the early 1980s, it became apparent that the future was in front-wheel drive vehicles. In addition, the car factory felt the need for a design change. As a result, in 1984 the production of the three-door hatchback "Samara", VAZ-2108, began.

The car and its five-door modification "Sputnik", VAZ-2109, were distinguished by excellent dynamics and controllability, unpretentiousness to the quality of the road surface and high maximum speed.

The VAZ-2108 was equipped with a four-cylinder four-stroke carburetor or injection engine with a volume of 1.1, 1.3 or 1.5 liters. This motor is specially designed for use in a front wheel drive vehicle.

VAZ-2108 (1984-2003)

VAZ-2109 was a "family" variation of the "eight", which was presented as a more solid car.

The front-wheel drive novelty, of course, became an event in the domestic automotive market, but it had a number of drawbacks. In particular, it was not as cheap and easy to repair as the "classic", received less comfortable pedals and quickly failing oil receiver and engine crankcase.

In 1990, the Togliatti automobile enterprise produced a four-door version of the family with a sedan body - VAZ-21099. She became the last model released before the collapse of the USSR.

The first car produced in the post-Soviet period was the "ten" - VAZ-2110. It was developed back in 1989, but the crisis years did not allow production to begin in 1992, as previously planned.

VAZ-2110 began production only in 1995. It was equipped with one of two engine options: an 8-valve 1.5-liter with 79 hp. or 16-valve 1.6-liter, developing 92 hp. The car belonged to the highest class in the Samara family, which could compete with the Opel Astra, Audi 80 and Daewoo Nexia.

Over time, many modifications of the model came out, among which were station wagons, hatchbacks and coupes. Until the appearance of the LADA Priora, the "ten" was considered the most expensive and prestigious domestic car.

VAZ-2110 (1995-2007)

The successor to the VAZ-21099, the four-door sedan VAZ-2115, appears in 2007. The novelty received a spoiler with an additional brake light on the trunk, bumpers painted in body color, flowed around the sills, new taillights, door moldings and a more comfortable interior.

At first, the model was equipped with 1.5- and 1.6-liter carburetor engines, since 2000 - a power unit with distributed fuel injection.

In 1998, the first Russian minivans appeared - the VAZ-2120. The model was based on an extended platform, borrowed from the "Niva", and equipped with an all-wheel drive chassis, which helped to overcome the most difficult road conditions.

The car was produced in small series until 2008, when production was stopped due to low demand and unsatisfactory quality.

VAZ-2120 (1998-2008)

In 1993, the development of a new car called "Lada-Kalina" began. The design process continued for quite a long time, in 1999 the first prototype in the hatchback body debuted, a year later - a sedan, and in 2001 - a station wagon.

The first generation of the model was produced from November 18, 2004. Since July 2007, LADA Kalina has received a new 1.4-liter 16-valve engine, and since September - an ABS system.

The model was constantly being modernized. So, in 2010, a version with a black "basalt" interior and a standard audio system appeared.

On May 1, 2011 AVTOVAZ announced the termination of production of the LADA Kalina sedan, which was replaced by the budget LADA Granta.

LADA Kalina (2004)

In 2008, Renault-Nissan Corporation bought out 25% of shares of JSC AVTOVAZ. The next year the company met with a lump of financial problems that caused production to be cut by almost half.

The car company needed state support, and it allocated 25 billion rubles as an interest-free loan, and also contributed the entire model range of AVTOVAZ to the state program for subsidizing car loan rates.

In September, there were massive layoffs at the enterprise, and the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation announced that the car plant was in a pre-bankruptcy state, and therefore state support was inappropriate. It was proposed to cut about 50,000 staff.

In November, Renault put forward a proposal to organize the production of LADA, Renault and Nissan cars based on the B0 platform at the Volzhsky Automobile Plant. The help of the French contributed to the fact that the company received additional funding from the government. This helped to overcome the financial crisis and even make a profit in 2010.

On December 12, 2012, the creation of a joint venture between the Renault-Nissan alliance and the state corporation Russian Technologies was announced. By the end of 2013, the new joint venture owned 76.25% of the shares of JSC AVTOVAZ.

On June 18, 2014 Renault-Nissan increased its share in the share capital of AVTOVAZ to 67.13%.

The Priora sedan model appeared in the current LADA portfolio in 2007. The following year, a hatchback car was released, and in 2009 - a station wagon. The car is equipped with an 8-valve 81 hp engine. or 16-valve with a capacity of 98 hp.

It is the successor to the VAZ-2110, representing its restyled version. In appearance, the front and rear fenders, the trunk lid and hood, bumpers, lighting equipment with fog lights, alloy wheels, and a radiator grill have changed.

The interior was developed in collaboration with the Italian studio Carcerano. There is a new front panel, a silver console trim, a new armrest with two niches, better upholstery, a driver's airbag, and improved sound insulation.

LADA Priora (2007)

On May 16, 2011, the serial production of LADA Granta started. This car was developed based on the Kalina model. In March 2013, a modification appeared with a liftback body, which, among other things, differed in the shape of the rear side doors, a front bumper and the location of the rear license plate.

The model is equipped with a 1.6-liter gasoline engine with distribution injection and three power options - 87, 98 and 106 hp.

As soon as the car went on sale, it caused a huge demand from buyers. The queues for the new product stretched until March 2012.

LADA Granta became the first car of the Togliatti automobile plant, which was serially equipped with an automatic transmission - a four-band transmission of the Japanese company Jatco.

LADA Granta (2011)

In 2012, LADA Largus appeared, developed jointly with Renault on the Logan platform. The car is produced in station wagon, high-capacity station wagon and cargo van versions. In this case, the passenger version can be five- or seven-seater.

LADA Largus (2012)

Now the LADA model range includes five families of cars: the Largus station wagon, the Granta sedan and liftback, the Priora sedan, the Priora hatchback and station wagon, the Kalina hatchback and station wagon, as well as the three- and five-door 4x4 model. Separately, it is worth noting the cross-versions of the popular station wagons Largus and Kalina, which replenished the model lineup at the turn of 2014-2015, as well as the 4x4 Urban adapted for the city. All manufactured vehicles comply with international environmental standards Euro-4, and those that are exported to Europe - Euro-5.

In 2014, the automaker held 17% of the Russian passenger car market. Production, in addition to the Togliatti automobile plant, is organized in the Russian cities of Syzran, Izhevsk, Serpukhov and Naberezhnye Chelny, in the Ukrainian cities - Lutsk, Kherson, Zaporozhye, Kremenchug, as well as in Ecuador, Egypt, Uruguay.

The construction of the giant of the Russian automotive industry - Volzhsky Automobile Plant (VAZ)- started in 1967, after careful preparation and selection of the construction site. On July 20, 1966, the Central Committee of the CPSU and the Council of Ministers, having previously analyzed 54 different potential sites, decided on the construction site - it was decided to build a new largest passenger car plant in the Union in Togliatti(Samara Region). The construction was announced by the shock Komsomol construction site. The Council of Ministers appointed V.N. Polyakov, Deputy Minister of the Automotive Industry. General Director of the plant under construction, and Solovyova V.S. chief designer AvtoVAZ... Subsequently, thousands of people, mostly young people, were sent to Togliatti to build a giant plant. The technical design of the construction was prepared by the Italian automobile concern Fiat, with which a contract was also signed for the supply of basic technological equipment and further training of specialists.

Already two years after the start of construction, the work collectives of the factory workshops began to be formed. Mainly work on VAZ there were the same young people who built it and installed the equipment. The plant was planned so large and powerful, and the launch time was so limited that the production equipment for VAZ manufactured at 844 machine-building plants in the USSR and 900 plants in other socialist countries, as well as by companies from Germany, Italy, England, France, the USA and other countries.

Thanks to the efforts and hard work of the Soviet people, on April 19, 1970, the first six cars were produced. VAZ-2101 « Zhiguli". Thus, the construction was completed 3 years earlier than the 6 years calculated in the design. The construction of the first " Lada Copied the Italian model Fiat-124 of 1966 in the basic configuration, but with significant modifications. And materials and components for VAZ cars were used exclusively Soviet.

The first stage of the plant was put into operation and launched on March 24, 1971 and was designed to produce 220 thousand cars per year. And at the beginning of next year, the second stage of the Volzhsky Automobile Plant was put into operation, also designed to produce 220 thousand cars per year, thus doubling the production capacity of VAZ.

The first VAZ model was conceived as low-power (the volume of the four-cylinder engine was 1.2 liters; power - 62 hp at 5,600 rpm; maximum speed - 140 km / h) and inexpensive to saturate the huge consumer market of the USSR. Compared to its Italian prototype, VAZ-2101 acquired rear drum brakes (instead of disc brakes), which were more durable and resistant to dirt. Taking into account the peculiarities of Soviet roads, the ground clearance was also increased, the body and suspension were strengthened. In subsequent years, the first model of the VAZ was refined, the equipment changed. But even in this (primordial) modification VAZ-2101 produced until 1982, becoming a popular and truly "people's" car.

In 1972, the second model of the Volga Automobile Plant entered the world - VAZ-2102, which was virtually indistinguishable from the first model converted to a five-door station wagon. This passenger-and-freight version of the first Zhiguli became the “best friend” of Soviet summer residents. The carrying capacity of the car was 430 kg and increased, in comparison with the VAZ-2101, insignificantly - by only 30 kg. But the larger volume of the luggage compartment was appreciated and accepted with gratitude by the inhabitants of the Soviet Union. The popularity and fame of "the best friend of summer residents" eventually passed to the VAZ-2102 receiver represented by the fourth model VAZ.

In addition to the universalized model (VAZ-2102), in 1972 the production of more
powerful variation " Lada» - VAZ-2103... The third model was equipped with a 1.5-liter engine with a capacity of 71 hp. at 5600 rpm. The maximum speed of the car has increased to 152 km / h. With such characteristics, the Soviet car became quite competitive in dynamics with Western cars of a similar class, accelerating to 100 km / h in 17 seconds. The majority of the population perceived this model as a completely new, more powerful and comfortable, and, accordingly, more prestigious and expensive. In fact, the VAZ-2103 was just a copy of the Lux version of the 1968 Fiat 124 Speciale Italian model. Like the first model, the Italian car was adapted and redesigned taking into account the peculiarities of use on the roads of the USSR. Compared to the VAZ-2101, the interior of the third VAZ model has gained significant improvements in the direction of convenience and beauty: the space above the passengers' head has been increased by 1.5 cm, the instrument panel has been completely redesigned, the floor has been covered with thick fabric carpets that have improved the appearance and sound insulation of the interior. The interior and trunk were finished with plastic.

The designers of the Volga Automobile Plant never stopped working on improving the cars they produced. Each new model or even a series within one model received new improvements, visual and technical changes. Subsequently, as a result of serious modernization within the framework of the second generation of rear-wheel drive VAZ vehicles, in 1980 VAZ-2105 as a replacement for the VAZ-2101, which was no longer produced at that time. The standard equipment of the VAZ-2105 was supplied with a 1.3-liter engine with 63 hp. The fifth VAZ model with the name LADA-2105 is still produced and is the cheapest option from the entire modern VAZ lineup. The low price is ensured primarily due to the minimum standard configuration and obsolete technologies used in the production of this car.

The most popular in history AvtoVAZ became the sixth model put into production
in 1976. Like the older models of previous years, the prototype for VAZ-2106 became an Italian car - Fiat 124 Speciale 1972, with the changes made to adapt to our conditions. Therefore, no one could have imagined such superpopularity for an indistinguishable car designed to replace the third model, which has been discontinued in the market. Comparatively powerful engine VAZ-2106 a volume of 1.6 liters and a capacity of 75 hp. allowed a maximum speed of 152 km / h. This model was produced until 2006 and during the entire production period, minor changes were made to its design to maintain the popularity of the car and extend its life on the market.

In 1982, the Volzhsky Automobile Plant began production VAZ-2107, which became the latest models of the "classics". The seventh model was based on the VAZ-2105. This car is also one of the best-selling in the post-Soviet market due to its simplicity, reliability and, of course, low price. This model is now called LADA-2107 and is also produced abroad - in Ukraine and Egypt.

For changing " classics»In 1984 the release began
front-wheel drive wedge-shaped " Samara» ( VAZ-2108). This three-door hatchback made a splash in the Soviet car market and marked the beginning of a new era in the production of front-wheel drive VAZ vehicles. Three years later (in 1987), the Volzhsky Automobile Plant launched the production of a five-door version of this car - VAZ-2109"Satellite". This option was considered more solid, and thanks to the presence of five doors - a family version of the "eight". The obvious advantages of all cars of the Samara / Sputnik family are good dynamic qualities and a large maximum speed limit, improved handling at
all kinds of roads, powerful bumpers. Nevertheless, the disadvantages inherent in these particular models were also noted: the suitability of cars for easy and quick repairs decreased in comparison with the classic VAZ models, the ergonomics of the pedals deteriorated, the engine crankcase and oil receiver became more vulnerable. Later, in 1990, the car plant released a four-door modification of the ninth model with a sedan body - VAZ-21099"Sputnik / Samara Form". This is the last model that the Volzhsky Automobile Plant began to produce before the collapse of the Soviet Union.

The first new model of the Volga Automobile Plant in the post-Soviet expanses was the so-called "ten" - VAZ-2110(LADA 110). Like most domestic enterprises, VAZ had a hard time going through the first years of crisis that came with the collapse of the USSR. Therefore, the model “tens”, developed back in 1989, came out with a delay of three years. Instead of the planned 1992, the car plant launched the production of a new model - a four-door sedan VAZ-2110 only in 1995, and
gradually began to increase the production of cars. The tenth VAZ model was equipped with two types of engines: an 8-valve with a volume of 1.5 liters and a power of 79 hp. or 16-valve with a volume of 1.6 liters and 92 hp. This car was rightfully considered a model of a higher class from the Samara family, capable of competing with such representatives of the foreign automobile industry as Daewoo Nexia, Audi 80, or even the first generation Opel Astra.

Continuing the successful experience of modifications of previously produced models, in 1997 VAZ began production of a four-door sedan VAZ-2115, which is a restyled heir VAZ-21099... The new model received a new boot lid and spoiler with an additional brake light, body-colored bumpers, new taillights, streamlined sills, door moldings and a new more comfortable interior. Initially, carburetor engines with a volume of 1.5 or 1.6 liters were installed on the car, but in 2000 they began to supply it with an engine with distributed fuel injection.

The newest models of the Volzhsky Automobile Plant are Lada Kalina(Lada
Kalina) and Lada Priora(Lada Priora). According to the European classification, the first belongs to the upper segment of the "B" class, and the second - to the "C" class. Prototype Lada Kalina was shown to the general public back in 1999 in the hatchback form factor, and in 2000 - in the sedan form factor. But the production of this car in the form of a sedan was established only in 2004, and the hatchback rolled off the assembly lines of the car plant in 2006. A year later it was released Lada Kalina station wagon. The manufacturer is constantly improving and introducing various modifications of the family Lada Kalina... Also, by 2012, it is planned to carry out a large-scale update of the complete set and change the appearance for the entire family of these cars.

Lada Priora
(VAZ-2170) became on the conveyor of the car plant in March 2007 with a sedan body. In the next two years, the production of Priora was launched with hatchback bodies (in 2008) and a station wagon (in 2009). Actually Lada Priora is a large-scale modified successor of the VAZ-2110. This model is equipped with two types of engines: 8-valve 81 hp. or 16-valve with a capacity of 98 hp.

Despite all the efforts of domestic automakers, in recent years they have been gradually ousted from the Russian market by cars of Japanese, Asian and European production. During the economic crisis of 2008-2009, which is probably the most painful hit for the automotive industry, AvtoVAZ established cooperation with the Renault concern. This served as an incentive to receive financial assistance from the Russian government and assistance in the development of new automotive technologies from partners from Renault. At the VAZ production facilities, the French plan to establish production of Renault, Nissan and Lada cars on a single B0 (Logan) platform, as well as to leave the production of Russian cars in the lower price segment.

Vaz 2114 is a favorite of many cars produced by the Lada concern, which is part of the Samara-2 family. The history of the VAZ 2114 began when the public saw the first models in 2001, then 50 test copies were produced. Full-scale production of VAZ 2114 started in April 2003, and the last release of VAZ 2114 was recorded on December 23, 2013.

The fourteenth model replaced the well-known VAZ 2109, called the "nine", it lasted seventeen years on the conveyor from 1987 to 2004, but until 2011 it was assembled in Ukraine from kits. Little has survived from her in the appearance of the restyled VAZ 2114.

Changes to the car compared to its predecessor

The updated model has radically changed not only the outer part of the car, but also significantly updated the interior.

External differences from its predecessor:

  1. Bumper... The bumper became higher and was painted in the body color, like that of foreign cars; before it, 10, 11 and 12 models could boast of this.
  2. Headlights... The headlights became smaller and more rounded, and the optics itself at that time was quite modern.
  3. Rear spoiler... Some configurations were equipped from the factory with a small spoiler that did not differ in color from the car.
  4. Radiator grille and bonnet... The bonnet also contrasted favorably with its angular predecessor with its rounded shape, which kept the 2114's design fresh enough.
  5. Wings... Slots for turn signals appeared in the fenders and, in general, they became more profitable to integrate into the overall appearance of the car.
  6. Sill fairings... The sills were covered with plastic lining and painted in the same color as the body.
  7. Moldings... The moldings go along the doors and, in turn, are painted in the color of the car body.

All this made the VAZ 2114 quite attractive and modern, which, coupled with a low price, promised the model success. The changes, by the way, did not affect the rear of the car, although initially the engineers planned to change the appearance of the taillights. The idea was abandoned due to an unreasonable increase in production costs.

Looking into the salon, you can find updated:

  1. Torpedo... The new torpedo was made in accordance with European standards and lost the second glove compartment in the luxury configuration. The plastic has become less squeaky than in the nine.
  2. Dashboard... Although not new, since the instrument panel was already on the VAZ 2110, it migrated here too, unlike the old one, it had a more modern appearance.
  3. Steering wheel and steering column... The fourteenth model was equipped with a new, at that time, steering wheel from a VAZ 2110, and a knob appeared on the steering column for adjusting it.
  4. Seat belt anchorages have found their top points.

Sitting in the restyled salon has become much more pleasant and comfortable, in addition, a lot of pleasant additional goodies have appeared, such as:

  • electric drive on windows;
  • heated seats;
  • air conditioning;
  • fog lights;
  • central door lock;
  • regular on-board computer;
  • alloy wheels and toning.

There were only two configurations available: basic and luxury. They did not differ much both in price and in equipment. The luxury room had a plastic cover on the engine for decoration, a plastic receiver and a regular on-board computer.

In addition, the engineers took care of upgrading the clutch system, gearshift link, suspension, braking system and, in general, the technical equipment.

Over the entire history of production, 4 types of engines were installed on the VAZ 2114:

  1. With a volume of 1.5 liters, the power of which was 77 horsepower, from 2003 to 2007.
  2. From 2007 until the moment when the VAZ 2114 ceased to be produced, two variants of engines of the same volume 1.6 were installed, with a capacity of 81 and 90 hp.
  3. In 2010, models began to appear with updated engines of the same volume, but it already had a power of up to 98 hp.

Vaz-2114 price and end of production

The last car rolled off the assembly line in 2013, they were sold at a price of about 300 thousand rubles. It is still possible to find cars with near zero mileage at a comparable price.

The last VAZ 2114 that rolled off the assembly line was white.

In total, in the entire history of VAZ 2114, 929 930 fourteenth five-door hatchbacks left the doors of the plant. Lada Granta came to replace him.

The story began back in 1983.
Then the engineers of the Togliatti Automobile Plant began developing a new car under the VAZ 2110 brand.
At first it was supposed to be a rear-wheel drive sedan, but some forces prevented this.

Then it was decided to create a new car based on the VAZ 2108.
Development was in full swing and with great enthusiasm. A lot of technological innovations were introduced, a large number of parts and assemblies were redone.

And in the end (1987), this development was suspended, due to the fact that it poured into a lumpy sum and would be reflected in the price of the car.
We decided to start the project from scratch, and what we had developed during this time later turned into VAZ 21099.

Many parts have been tested in Germany, France and other European countries.

The fine-tuning of the VAZ 2110 was carried out jointly with German engineers at the Porcshe test site.

The release of the top ten was planned for 1992, but due to unrest in the country it was postponed until 1995.
The birthday of the dozens is June 27, 1995. On this day, the first VAZ 2110 rolled off the assembly line.

Serial production began in 1996.
By this time, the car was already morally obsolete - this is in comparison with the world auto industry.

But in comparison with Russian cars, it was a clear leader.

The following innovations were applied at the VAZ 2110:

Electronic engine management system
- on-board computer
- galvanized body parts
- new technology of body painting
- the ability to install power windows and power steering on the steering wheel

"Ten" was produced for 12 years, in 2007 the release was discontinued. It was replaced by a new model - Lada Priora.
Modifications of the VAZ 2110 in the hatchback and station wagon bodies were produced for some time.

At the moment, "ten" is produced from AvtoVAZ car sets, in the city of Cherkassy (Ukraine), and bears the name "Bogdan".

During the production of the VAZ 2110, many modifications were released, for example

VAZ 21106 is a "charged" version of the VAZ 2110 sedan, with an Opel engine with a capacity of 150 hp.
"People's" modification had a power of 136 hp.
And the hydraulic booster of the company "ZF" was installed. Also, at first, some Volkswagen parts were used, but they were eventually replaced by domestic counterparts.

The history of the car, which is now known as the VAZ-2110 (Lada 2110), began in 1983 when the first model of the sedan appeared, which strongly resembles the Opel Ascona and Ford Record cars of that time. This car had a rear-wheel drive and, according to plans, it was to be called VAZ-2112, but it did not receive approval for further development.

Development continued, at the beginning of 1984 another unsuccessful layout was built, which was also abandoned. The matter got off the ground only when the development of a new sedan of the Samara family with the VAZ-21099 index began. The first prototype, released at the end of 1984, already bore the factory index VAZ-2110. It was a prototype of the so-called "Series 0", during its manufacture almost all parts were taken from the cars of the first "Samara" family (/ /). The prototype VAZ-2110 "zero series" strongly resembled the VAZ-21099, in its design there was only one left rear-view mirror and a single wiper.

The first prototypes of the future VAZ-2110

A year later, after further improvements and changes in the design, the so-called 100th series of the VAZ-2110 car was born, which was named "Afalina. After the hundredth series, the next and next came out in increments of one hundred, the more the series was marked with, the more it looked like a production car. With each new series, the car less and less resembled the original rear-wheel drive project, for example, in the 300 series project, it was already possible to easily recognize the top ten that went into mass production. It is worth noting that the aerodynamic refinement of the 300 series was carried out with the participation of Porsche.

The prototype, which was almost ready for serial production, was shown in 1992 to Russian President Boris Nikolayevich Yeltsin during his visit to the Volzhsky Automobile Plant. This copy was recommended for serial production, however, due to the economic crisis, serial production was postponed, and only in June 1995 was the first pilot batch of VAZ-2110 cars produced, and full-fledged serial production was launched only for the next 1996.

Prototypes of the VAZ-2110 series 0, 100, 200 and 300

The serial car VAZ-2110 for its time (in the mid-90s at the time it was released) had a modern design, both exterior and interior and a spacious trunk with a volume of 480 liters. Throughout the entire production period, the appearance of the car practically did not change and in this form in Russia it was produced until 2007, after which the car was completely replaced by the new Lada Priora sedan.

The VAZ-2110 sedan was produced not only in Russia, but also in Egypt and Ukraine by the Bogdan corporation. The Ukrainian “ten” bore its own name “Bogdan” and was produced until 2014. During the production of the VAZ-2110, it had many modifications, these were models with both a carburetor and an injection engine, both 8 and 16-valve, both 4 and 2-door coupe and even sports modifications.

Design and construction

In the cars of the 10th family, new developments were laid in comparison with the previous models. So the parts that were most exposed to corrosion began to be made of galvanized metal; gas stops were used to hold the hood in the open position. An on-board control system, an immobilizer, and a system for capturing gasoline vapors appeared. The brake discs are steel ventilated. Some production cars were equipped with air conditioning.

The first production cars VAZ-2110 received a VAZ-21083 carburetor 8-valve engine with a volume of 1.5 liters and a power of 69 horsepower. At the same time, the maximum speed was 162 km / h, and the average fuel consumption was 7.5 liters per 100 kilometers. Even if we take into account the fact that the engines on the VAZ-2110 and VAZ-21099 cars were the same "ten" in terms of acceleration and speed dynamics showed a 12% higher result. This was due primarily to the reduced drag coefficient.

The carburetor engine was replaced by an injection engine. The new 8-valve injection engine with a volume of 1.5 liters remained the same, but the power increased to 79 horsepower, the maximum speed also increased, now it was 170 km / h. Later, 16-valve engine models were developed.

The exterior of the car was not as angular as that of the cars of the "Samara" family (which were called "chisel" for a reason), the body lines were smoother and more modern. The car received completely different optics, taillights, a different grille, completely different bumpers (both front and rear). In general, it was a completely different car, and it makes no sense to compare it with the "ninety-ninth", although the cars were developed in parallel.

The interior of the VAZ-2110 car was also completely different, a new panel and instrument panel, a new steering wheel, door cards and much more. The dashboard featured a speedometer, tachometer, fuel gauge and engine temperature gauge. "Ten" was completed with anatomical seats with head restraints, which can be adjusted both in the angle of inclination and in length.

Modifications
