Security mode management

You can disarm the car, as well as turn on the security mode, without using the key fob, for which you press the OVERRIDE button in the required sequence. The point is that when using the code, the button must be pressed a certain number of times. You can disable its use by setting option 15 to "1". The Tomahawk X5 system will then return to standard mode, requiring you to enter a single number (three) instead of a PIN code.

How to disable security

So, try turning off the security mode with the OVERRIDE button:

  1. Open the door;
  2. Without closing the door, turn on the ignition;
  3. Within 5 seconds, start entering the first digit by pressing the OVERRIDE button;
  4. Turn off the ignition and turn it on again;
  5. Repeat step 3 for the second digit of the code;
  6. Be sure to turn off the ignition.

As you can see, the sequence looks easy. But if option 15 is set to 1, everything will look simpler: in step 3, press the button three times and immediately go to step 6. Make sure of this by reading the instructions.

Control without code

The Tomahawk X5 system allows you to turn on the security mode in three main steps:

I approached the installation with all seriousness (almost), negotiated with a warm garage for a long time, collected all the tools in a heap, printed out a couple of pages from the Fitovodov forum (you never know, it might come in handy), took a normal DSLR (a healthy infection, you can’t get anywhere). I slowly set Saturday and Sunday, took photographs along the way, drank tea, smoked, thought, and so on. In general, I had nowhere to rush except for my birthday on Sunday. In general, I managed to do everything, did everything. During the entire installation I messed up 2 times, which I will write about below.

Well, let's begin. The first photo is of the patient.

We take off our glasses. Attached with 6 clips: 4 plastic and 2 steel. I pulled the top part by grasping 2 large points from the inside.

We unscrew the 4 screws and try to rip out the instrument panel. It’s not so simple, you need to push one side inward, pull out the other side at an angle, then it will work out with a bang.

The main alarm unit was pushed under the air duct, it was jammed quite well. There was an option to use 2-sided tape on some block to the left and deeper, but I refused because I didn’t have normal tape (3M) on hand, and the block would have been installed vertically. Chinese tape simply could not withstand such a load.

We divide the braid from the main block into “needed”, “needed under the smoke” and “not necessary at all”.

We connect to the alarm system and admire a nice crow’s nest.

We connect the central locking control to this gray connector. Two left ones are used (green-red locking, green unlocking)

We connect according to a circuit with positive control, i.e. the pulses will be of positive polarity.

Let's move on to the blue left connector. We connect the door and trunk limit switches. We need wires (counting from left to right) 5, 6, 7.

We connect the door switches (driver's and passenger's) together via 2 diodes and connect them to the alarm system.

We connect the trunk limit switch.

Now we connect the visual notification. Those who wish can connect to the dimensions; I prefer turn signals, and there will be no dancing with the lights in the cabin and on the instruments. We will need wires (counting from left to right) 5 and 6.

To get to the brake limit switch I had to remove half of the lower right panel. There is no other way to get to it. And there will be more room for action. It is held on by a self-tapping screw in the area of ​​the “Mirror” button (look from below) and 4 metal clips. The right part came off well, but the left part had to be tinkered with. It is better to press on the clips from the inside.

You won't be able to strip the wire and wedge yourself into it, because you can't turn around there. I made it simpler. I stripped the larger wire, plugged it into the connector and put it in place in this form. I agree, it’s not pretty, but it works. We cling to the wire on which 12 volts appears when the pedal is pressed.

Remove the trim from the right pillar. It snaps off well if you press into the corner (the seal has been removed from it) from the outside.

We install the transceiver and LED. You can choose any other place.

I hung the shock sensor on 2-sided tape in the fuse area.

This place was chosen to access the engine compartment. It is located on the bulkhead near the exhaust manifold. We take out the seal, make a hole in it and push 2 wires into it (siren and hood switch).

The siren was installed on the air conditioner tube mounting bracket. The black and red wire from the siren can be pushed under the bracket so as not to pull the ground separately.

The temperature sensor was attached to the block in the place where the mass from the body connects to the block. We clamp one wire from the sensor with a bolt, and connect the second to the trunk end switch.

I fell apart with the hood end. I drilled a hole next to the pillow, secured it and, satisfied, began to check. Does not work. It turned out that the hood did not put pressure on him, but simply bent it to the side with its edge. I didn't really want to re-drill the hole. As a result, I swapped the cushion and the limit switch. This is an option. When installing, look carefully at where the limit switch will rest!
