Despite the fact that in the 1st generations Verso was called the Corolla Verso, it has its own platform, unique and has nothing in common with the Corolla chassis. During the modernization, the shock absorbers on both axles changed their settings, increased the rigidity of the front suspension parts and introduced new struts. Adaptation to Russian conditions
Verso is no more adapted to driving on Russian roads than the overwhelming number of other city cars, since it has only front-wheel drive and a modest ground clearance - 145 mm for the 5-seater version and 155 mm for the 7-seater version. In the trunk, depending on the configuration, a full-size spare wheel or stowaway is stored; in the "base" there is a conventional air conditioner, in the "top" - separate climate control; of the heaters, there are only seat heaters for the 1st row and side mirrors, and available gasoline engines prefer fuel with an octane rating of at least 95.

Thanks to restyling, the interior of the compact van has become noticeably quieter - due to soundproof mats between the passenger compartment and the engine compartment. There are no architectural or layout innovations in the cabin - the style of decoration has only slightly changed and the finishing materials have significantly improved. For the interior decoration, soft plastic is mainly used, and the steering wheel is sheathed with high-quality Nappa leather (in all trim levels, except for the initial ones). The center armrest is also clad in excellent leather. Matte silver decorative inserts are appropriate and look good against the background of dark details. The build quality raises no objections. The white color of the illumination of the new dashboard is much more pleasing to the eye, compared to the previous amber illumination, and for readability this is an absolute plus. The devices are located, as in Toyota Prius - in the very center of the dashboard, which is unusual for many drivers.
There is plenty of storage space in the cabin, as before, and the upper part of the glove compartment divided in two tends to cool. The folding tables in the backs of the 1st row are very comfortable, with cup holders. As an option, a panoramic glass roof is available, which in summer increases the level of comfort at times. The front seats are characterized by a correctly selected profile and not too pronounced lateral support. The presence of full-fledged separate seats on the 2nd row (modifications are also offered with the 3rd row, where, according to tradition, it is difficult to get through) and a flat floor indicate that all rear riders will be equally comfortable. Those who sit in the "gallery" are deprived of side glazing and extra legroom - for the sake of unnecessary space, they will have to ask those sitting in front to make room. As you would expect from a compact car, the Verso's trunk is medium-sized - it holds from 484 to 1,026 liters. luggage (with the rear seats folded). When fully loaded with passengers, the 7-seater version has enough luggage space at best for a couple of small suitcases.
