In this manual, we were guided by the fact that you will have to perform all actions in the garage without a viewing hole. If there is one, then the replacement will be somewhat easier and easier. It is very convenient to carry out all operations on a lift or overpass, but this is ideal.

Now let's look at the order of actions step by step:

1. The very first thing to do is to warm up the gearbox. We start the car and drive several kilometers to warm up the waste oil. This is done because the heated oil is more fluid and drains better.

2. Now we cut out a part of the plastic in the previously prepared container so that the used oil can drain there (picture below).

3. We use a jack and lift the right side of the car.

Important! Take care of the presence of wheel stops in advance so that the car does not roll spontaneously and is indestructible. Also place a block under the machine and loosen the jack. This will allow you to securely fix the car and protect you from trouble.

4. Climb under the car and find the drain hole. If there is a crankcase protection, then, as a rule, a special technological hole is made in it for changing the oil. If the protection is solid, then it will have to be removed. When the hole is found, we use a metal brush to clean it from dirt and dust. After cleaning, wipe the cork and the area around it with a clean cloth.

5. We use key to "17" to unscrew the drain plug. We pre-install the prepared container under it. When the used oil runs, be careful because it is warm and can burn your hands, so work only with gloves and long sleeves. Wait about 15 minutes for the old oil to drain completely.

6. While the "working off" is draining you need to free access to the filler plug of the car. To do this, disconnect the battery terminal. After that, unscrew the fastening screws of the air filter housing. We also disconnect the terminal of the mass air flow sensor and all other wires (hoses) that may interfere when removing the case.

7. Now you can swivel the air filter housing to the side.

8. Find the oil level dipstick on the gearbox and remove it.

9. We tighten the drain plug from the bottom of the car. During this time, the working off had to completely drain.

10. Cut out a funnel from a plastic container, which will serve as a watering can. We place it above the filler hole from which the dipstick was pulled. Some people use an extra hose between the hole and the funnel if they can't fit the cut off of the bottle differently.

11. We fill in new oil and make sure that there is no leakage through the drain hole. It may appear after a few minutes due to the weak tightening of the plug. Since 2013, almost all front-wheel drive VAZ vehicles have been equipped with a cable box. In Grant's sedans, it replaced the less reliable unit, designated as "2190". With a round key "22" try to unscrew the switch body. Cancel the replacement if nothing can be done - neither unscrew the "top" plug, nor remove the switch.

When the switch is replaced, the threads are sealed with a sealant. The tightening torque should be 28-45 N * m.

Detailed algorithm for changing the oil in the CABLE gearbox

The oil from the Lada Grant gearbox is drained through the "lower" plug. It is unscrewed with a key "17".

The simplest thing is to drain the oil.

You need to unscrew the cork like this: make 1-2 turns with the key, then substitute the container. And then we unscrew the cork by hand.

At the final step, the crankcase is cleaned of oil residues. All threaded elements are tightened with the recommended torques: plug - 29-46 N * m, switch - 28-45 N * m.

The photo shows how everything looks if you follow the rules. The lower plug is twisted, the upper one is vice versa. And refueling is carried out with a syringe.
